Chapter 87 087
Amy's POV
I was very confused about who the new person who came to see me this morning was and why she was already assigned to serve me. So was Damien, who looked like he already grabbed the situation. Even though I wasn't exactly telling him what happened, he stood up immediately, rushing towards me to check on me.
"How are you doing? Is anything wrong with you and the baby? Do you need anything? Do you feel pain anywhere? Do you feel like you’re poisoned?" He kept asking me all these tales, and I could see that he was very anxious for the first time.
He's someone who's always known to be cruel and strong. Everyone else means nothing to him, but now I'm seeing a sense of fear around him for the first time, which is kind of refreshing to see.
I shook my head. "I'm very fine. I just wanted to know because I found someone strange in the house. She hasn't done anything to me yet, and I don't think you should alert her."
"What do you mean by that? Anyone who dares to trespass in my territory would suffer."
"I think you should stop being so scary all the time. This is the reason why everyone is scared to come around you," I said to him. He scoffed like he didn't care.
"I don't mind anyone else. I only care about you. I already told you this before. Now let me go and get that traitor and kill her immediately."
He was running towards the door when I stopped him.
"I told you to wait. Why are you so annoying? I told you we need to observe things first. She came here to do something. You think they won't send someone else if she dies? Besides, this is the best way to get to know your enemy and also find out who is behind all of this, don't you think?"
He looked at me for a moment and agreed. "You're right. I just hate people disrespecting me, which is why I wasn't patient enough. I'll listen to you from now on."
"Wait, really? You are really willing to listen to me?" I questioned him again.
He nodded. "You don't want me to do that?"
I shook my head. "Of course not. You're welcome to do that. Let's just eat for now."
He came back to sit down, and we both ate together. While I was still trying to calculate who would be daring enough to do this, my mind couldn't think of the people who would do this other than the ones who might hate him or his enemies.
I could also think that the rogues who were after me the last time had the chance to do something like this, but it was a result because it's not going to be easy for them to get into the territory of Damien. So it could be someone who has the opportunity to come to this place.
After we were done eating, I was about to go back to the room when Lucas came back. He headed straight to Damien and whispered something in his ears. I wondered what they were talking about, but I thought it might have to do with the pack, and since I'm not the Luna yet, I don't think I'm qualified enough to listen to whatever they are talking about. I wanted to excuse myself.
"Wait. You can't leave. Your brother is here to see you," Damien announced.
My eyes widened in shock. "Caleb is here?"
The moment I heard that, I felt like my head was spinning around because I didn't know what to think. The last person I want to talk to today is Caleb. Even though it's my decision, I'm still too scared to talk to him most of the time after the decision I made to be with Damien.
"Just tell him I'm not here," I said, quickly heading out. But I wasn't lucky enough, as my brother already came inside and I bumped into him.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asked me. "I came here to see you, and you're running away?"
I smiled at him. "Of course not. I was just trying to dress up properly since I wasn't well dressed."
"I have seen you dressed worse than this. I don't know when you started to care about my opinions with your dressing. You look ugly sometimes and I don't mind," he replied.
I felt offended. "You started calling me ugly again? Where do you see the ugliness? I'm very pretty and you know it."
"It seems like you have a lot of energy to argue with me. Can you tell me now what is going on with you? I heard that Brian came here to see you and he was thrown out. He also got injured by Alpha Damien. What exactly happened?" he asked me.
Brian got injured a lot? I didn't know about that, since I already left Damien to deal with him that day. But it's good enough that he got injured like that. At least he won't come to bother me anymore. I took my brother to the couch to sit down.
Since he already went to announce things like that, it seems like most people would already know what happened to him. If he's trying to make people blame Damien for being cruel again, I won't let that happen because I'm there to see this time around that he caused it.
"He came here to steal me away from Damien. You already know about my pregnancy and everything else. Besides, I love Damien now, and I'm not willing to leave him. I don't know why Brian won't understand that," I explained to Caleb.
"You mean Brian tried to force you to leave despite knowing it was Damien's territory? I don't think he'll be stupid enough to do something like that unless he has something that is more powerful than Damien," he replied.
Damien came into the living room when I wanted to say something. I didn't know what to say to him because it felt like he was trying to listen to the private conversation of my brother and me. He probably won't be happy hearing me talk about Brian, and coupled with the fact that my brother still hates him, I don't want them to get into some sort of altercation right now.
"I'm telling you the truth about what Brian did. I wouldn't lie about something like that just to protect Damien," I told him again.
Caleb looked at Damien, and I could see the hatred in his eyes. "I don't exactly like seeing you with him, but I can't mess with your decisions either. However, if he dares to hurt you, I wouldn't hesitate taking you away from here even if I have to die."
Damien stood up, walking towards us. I felt like something bad was about to happen, and I immediately blocked him from getting close to Caleb. But he pulled me by my waist, pressing me against his body.
"She's already mine, and no one can take her away after this. Also, I'm not going to hurt her, and I won't let anyone do it either," Damien replied to Caleb.
I pushed him away a little bit. "That's enough. Is that all you came to say? I'm your sister, and you only came to talk about Brian with me?"
"I was worried about you or else I wouldn't come here at all, because coming here dirties my eyes," Caleb responded, pulling me to his side while glaring at Damien.
I whispered in his ear, "Look, I know you're very mad at him, but you shouldn't provoke him. After all, you can't beat him."
He looked at me, very offended by what I said. "Whose side are you on? I'm your brother, and you should be supporting me."
"I'm on the side of justice here. Damien is not at fault this time around. Whatever he did, Brian already provoked him so many times, and he endured all of this because of me. You know what he's capable of doing. The fact that Brian is alive is only because he respects me."
Damien looked at the both of us without saying anything, but I knew he could hear us. We are werewolves with extraordinary hearing, and the fact that he's a Lycan means he can hear clearer than anyone else, even if we don't want him to.
"You should still give me some face and stand by my side. I'm your own brother. Blood is thicker than water," he stated. "You know this. But you never got happy for me when I finally got my wolf, and it seemed like my wolf wasn't lost in any way but locked up."
He looked away the moment I said that, like he was uncomfortable with me talking about it. I don't know why this just came to my mind now, but it was finally time for me to know what the hell is going on. Like why would he not be happy for me? Just like our parents. If anyone else wasn't even happy, I expected my own brother to support me.
"Caleb, I need you to tell me the truth. You know about why I didn't have my wolf all these years, didn't you? Does it have to do with the fact that I'm a Lycan?"
