Chapter 27 Announcing Comeback

The sensation was addictive, making Kevin push Lilian onto the sofa and unbutton her white shirt. Underneath it was the infinite charm that he had always been fascinated with.

"Ling...," Lilian shyly moaned, "it hurts a bit..."

Kevin returned to her lips and they lingered in the living room for a while before he let go of Lilian.

"Tomorrow is important for you. Get some rest tonight."

Someone washed her body and someone blew dry her hair. Lilian closed her eyes and slept well recently, all thanks to Kevin's efforts.

Early next morning, Elena and Sylvia picked up Lilian from Beverly Hills to head to the event venue. However, they did not expect Brent to show up in person under the guise of cheering on his artist but actually supervising Lilian so she would not forget to clear Hillary's name.

"Do you have your lines memorized? Do you remember what you need to say on stage?" Brent asked Lilian in the dressing room.

"How could I forget?" Lilian replied ambiguously.

"Lilian, I know you're upset but...what happened between us is all in the past now. Don't resent Hillary because of this; she's innocent," Brent said calmly.

It turned out that ending a relationship only took a few days for Brent.

"And am I not innocent?"Lilian retorted at Brent."My youth these years and my efforts are worthless in your eyes? Even a dog knows how to show affection towards me!"

"Watch your words,Lilian."Brent scolded angrily."This was consensual between us;I never asked you to treat me so well.It was all voluntary on your part."

Lilian fell silent as soon as makeup artists knocked on their door.She didn't want to see Brent anymore so she quickly got up and let them into their room.

Brent was also angry and left the dressing room. However, before leaving, he instructed Elena,"Keep a close eye on Lilian and don't let her make any mistakes."

"I know."Elena nodded.

The event started at 9 am but Lilian appeared half an hour later. Usually, businesses would start their activities first before inviting guest models to the stage. At this moment, the event had already begun and Lilian was ready in a silver deep V dress with soft curls pinned to one side of her head. It wasn't particularly flashy attire but Lilian had always been naturally elegant; whatever she wore complemented her extraordinary temperament.

"Lilian, get ready. You're about to go on stage," Elena reminded nervously.

"Don't be afraid,Lilian.We're behind you," Sylvia encouraged Lilian as well.

Lilian nodded.Why should she be afraid? Today marked her first battle against Rainer Entertainment.She needed not only to win but also remain calm inside.

"Let's go!"Elena escorted Lilian out of the dressing room.

The venue wasn't large with only around two hundred seats in total.However,Lilian knew that many people were watching her through screens today just for entertainment purposes while waiting for low-level commercial events like hers to provide some gossip material.Unfortunately for them,she probably wouldn't give them what they wanted.With the host's announcement,Lilian walked up front under Elena's guidance.It had been too long since she felt such bright lights shining down on her so it took some time for Lilian to adjust herself accordingly."Our lovely Lillian indeed has charming long legs...Now let us welcome Lillian who we are honored to have invited here because we all know your popularity is skyrocketing lately.Thank you for coming especially today.Can I ask you a question?" The host tried his best to liven up the atmosphere. "Please go ahead," the host got straight to the point.

"Have you used our product before? Can you share your thoughts on it?"

Used it? Lilian furrowed her brows slightly...

She glanced at Brent, Elena, and Sylvia standing below the stage. Then she found the largest camera in the room and spoke very seriously.

"First of all, I want to thank my agency, Rainer Entertainment for letting me participate in this... platform event for a product that I have never even heard of."

"Secondly, although I was forced to stand here today, as a model, my attitude is very firm towards products that are not trusted by consumers. Therefore, I am also one of those who resist such products. So no, I have not used this product."

After finishing speaking,Lilian bowed gracefully towards everyone while they were still stunned then made an elegant exit...

The atmosphere at the scene became tense; Brent's face changed color while Elena and Sylvia secretly cheered from below.

Online reactions exploded with excitement.

"Oh my god! What did Lilian just say? I didn't hear clearly; let me rewind and listen again! How can she look so cool?"

"I know right?! Me too! Just when we thought we were going to criticize her but instead she pulled off something like this - now my face is swollen from slapping myself!"

"Who else dares to slap the faces of their agency and partners at an event like this besides Lilian?!"

However, after leaving the stage,Lilian did not have it easy as Brent and his partner came looking for trouble.

"Lilian, are you out of your mind? You're just a small-time model; how dare you make such noise in public?" They pointed at Lilian and scolded her harshly,"Are you tired of living? Did you turn our event into your own press conference?"
