Chapter 7 - Six Months Later
I wake up Saturday morning before Adam and just stare at him. I love him, I love how much we have in common, I love the way he looks in the morning, I love how much he wants to be around me, the way he makes me feel, makes me laugh, everything about him I am head over heels for this guy. I run my fingers in his hair. I whisper I love you. I give him a kiss and get out of bed. I grab my bathroom stuff, head to the showers, once I'm clean I head back to my room. I open the door, Adam’s lying in my bed, awake. He has a huge smile on his face.
“Good morning, sleepyhead.” I greet him.
“It is a good morning isn't it,” Adam replies. He is looking at me in a very strange way, I’m not sure why, probably because I’m in a towel. I walked over to my closet to find something nice to wear today.
“Do you want breakfast?” I ask.
“I want something but not breakfast. "
I look back from my closet at Adam, his smile has gotten bigger, I think. I drop my towel, run and jump on my bed to start tickling him, laughing, he rolls so I'm on my back with my arms pinned. Adam crashes his lips against mine claiming me, I instinctively wrap my legs around him. As I pull him closer to me I can feel him growing harder the more we kiss. He moves his hands so one of his hands holds both of mine, while he pulls his boxers down with the other hand. Slowly Adam inserts his hard length into me, letting me stretch around him. It feels amazing, he slowly pulls out before entering me again. His movements feel more passionate, like there's more lust and pleasure rippling through my body as I moan. I lose myself in the feeling. Breathlessly I moan Adam's name as I come undone. Adam thrusts one final time before pulling out and covering my stomach with his warm cum. Afterwards we lay there for a moment panting, Adam cleans me off. I look at the clock, climb out of bed. Adam just lays there and watches me like he always does. I get dressed in purple leggings and a black sports bra, braid my hair, put on some mascara.
“Are you going to stay in my bed all day or are we going to practice for your showcase?” I ask in a very serious voice.
“I was thinking I would stay in bed a bit longer.”
“Whatever you want, Adam but I’m going to make you practice at some point today.” I point out.
“Nah, I'm good. I'm a pro already.” He replies. I walked back over to the bed, sit on the edge, playing with his hair, and he kisses my chest. I go to stand up, but Adam wraps his arm around my waist before I move, he won't let me go, he's got this huge smile on his face again.
“What's up with you this morning?” I ask him, “Tell me again,” He says.
“Tell you what?”
“Just tell me one more time.”
“I would but I’ve got no clue what you're talking about,” I say.
“Tell me that you love me.” He replies. Oh my God, he was awake. I can feel my face heat up and I don't know what to say. I’m not embarrassed, but I feel butterflies big time in my belly. Shocked, I ask, “You were awake?”
“Tell me again.” He strains. I can’t help but smile and giggle. I look Adam square in the eyes, lean in, quickly kiss him then giggle again.
“Adam, I . . . Don’t know what you’re talking about.” I joke. Adam rolls onto his back, letting go of me, sighing he says, “You’re killing me here, Molly.” With a big smile, I straddle Adam and give in.
“Adam White, I love you, I have loved you since the day I fell into your arms at the bar.” I kiss him again. Still smiling from ear to ear he tells me.
“I love you too. I’ve been telling you that for a while now, for months, but it's normally just in my head.”
“You know I can't read minds, right?” I ask him. Adam kisses me again. I stand up and request, “Now get up and get dressed.”
“Fiiine!” Adam wines.
Walking back to my dorm with Adam after practicing for his audition, my phone rings, it’s my Mom.
“Hello,” I say as I answer the phone.
“Hi honey, Dad and I are in the city and thought we could have dinner.” She says.
“Hi, mama I would love that, let me drive Adam home first, where do you want to go?” I ask.
“Dad said Wayne Gretzky’s and Molly, you can bring Adam if you want.” She replies. I look at Adam who politely smiles at me, oh man he has no idea what is coming. I answer Mom back all while looking at Adam.
“Oh, Okay I guess it's time to finally meet him.” Adam’s expression is changing, his smile is gone and his eyes might pop out of his head. I squeezed his hand.
“I'm just getting back to my dorm from practicing so give us like 15 to change and freshen up and then we can all meet.”
“Sounds good, we'll go get a table, text me when you're there,” Mom says.
Today is turning out to be an intense day, first I tell Adam I’m in love with him and now he is going to meet my parents. We continue to walk up to my room, he doesn’t say anything. As we walk in the door, Adam freezes. I turn to face him, wrap my arms around his neck, and kiss his cheek, saying, “Earth to Adam, are you still in there?” Adam shakes his head, wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me tight against him.
“So about tonight I know you wanted to celebrate, but how about Wayne Gretzky’s for dinner . . . with my parents?” I say.
“Your parents?” He asks, taking in a deep breath.
“Um yeah I guess after 6 months they want to meet this guy named Adam I constantly talk about and I'm in love with, make sure he's good enough for their baby girl,” I reply.
“Oh, that's all just dinner with your parents so they can judge me with no pressure.”
“OK I'm going to change, and you probably should too. Do you have any clean clothes here?” I inquire, but Adam doesn't answer.
I take off my sports bra and look back at him. He looks a little nervous and still stunned. Topless, I walk over, start kissing his neck and cheek to his lips he stops me, flips me on to the bed, laughing, he lays his head on my chest.
“Do you think your parents will like me?” He asks in a quiet voice.
“Adam, are you nervous? This is a new look for you. Yes, they will love you.” I assure him.
I get out of bed, change into a cute little black dress with bright floral heels and take my braids out so my hair is wavy. Fix my make up. I look in my closet, Adam has a nice plaid top button down tee and jeans in there.
“Here change please, sweats aren't on the dress code.” I joke with him. Adam still looks nervous as we leave to meet my parents. Adam doesn’t really talk in the car to the restaurant.
“Babe relax, my parents will love you, my dad is your typical guy, plus he’s a salesman so he knows enough about everything that he will keep the conversation going. My mom is my best friend and as soon as she sees how much I love you and how amazing you are she will love you too. Just be yourself and don’t be nervous.” I reassure him.
I’m not entirely sure Adam heard a word I said since he didn’t even say anything back. I park the car, we get out, Adam waits for me, before we make our way to the door, I stop walking, turn to face Adam who is looking through me. I grab his face, so his eyes are looking directly in my eye, I smile and kiss him.
“What was that for?” he asks me.
“To snap you out of whatever funk you are in right now. Can we be cool and go in? Are you ready or are you going to be weird?”
“I’m ready and I will probably be weird until I realize I can breathe again.” He answers Oh my, I don’t think I have ever seen you like this before.” I say as we start walking to the building. We walk in and find my parents, I squeeze Adam’s hand, whisper in his ear, “Ready?” We walk over to our table. I let go of Adam’s hand and walk over to my parents’ side of the table.
“Hey Mom, Dad.” I give them both a hug, turn towards Adam, “Adam this is my Mom Loretta and my Dad Willie, parents this is my boyfriend Adam.” They shake hands and everyone says hello. We briefly talk about the menu, and figure out drinks and what we all are going to eat, my parents ask how I am doing, and the usual small talk. Then I switched the topic.
“So, you guys won’t believe this, but I have been helping Adam with his showcase, I can’t wait to see him perform.” Adam will likely kill me later for making him the center of attention, but he needs to start talking at some point. My Mom never fails to take the lead in conversation.
“Oh yes, Adam, Molly has been telling me about the different dance styles you will put all into one, are you excited?”
“Yes Loretta I am, Molly has been a huge help, I’m not entirely sure I knew there was a dance style for country music until I met her. Dancing all the different genres isn’t typically my style, but I am really looking forward to seeing the judges' faces when I perform.” Adam answers.
“Are you nervous at all?” Mom asks him, “Hmm, I’m not sure yet, I think because we are still planning and creating I’m just excited at this point,” Adam answers. I jump in, “I wish you guys could see him trying to line dance, I don't know if it's because Grandma taught us so young but it’s like he has 2 left feet, or I see him trying to add a different genre spin on it.” I giggle, Adam pushes me lightly with his arm fake laughing.
“What you know you do that.” I scrunch my nose at him, he mimics me and I lean over to kiss him. I caught my parents exchanging a look, so I change the topic.
“Dad, have you been keeping up with any sports teams these days?” My Dad just looks at me as he drinks his beer like we rarely talk about sports, so I’m sure he is wondering why I would ask him that. I widen my eyes and motion towards Adam. He replies, “A little hockey, Mom and I are hoping to catch a lightning’s vs leaf’s game before the season is over.” I squeeze Adam’s leg under the table as if to say now is your chance to start talking to my Dad. He picks up on my signal and asks.
“Why lightening’s vs leafs?” They start talking about hockey, and I turn to face my mom now and completely zone them out. My mom and I talked more about the showcase and school. Our food finally came thank goodness because I am starving. While we eat, we keep the conversation going.
“Are you guys going to head to Florida in a couple of weeks?” I ask my parents. Mom answers, “Yes we will go down together in the next week or so, open the place up, Dad will come back work for a bit and then join me for the end of April and we will come back together.” Adam is now openly talking to everyone. I think he has overcome his nerves.
“Molly was saying you have a place down there not far from Tampa.”
“Yeah we are in Winter Haven.” My Dad answers Adam.
“Oh yeah I think that’s close to the Detroit tigers spring training stadium? Do you guys ever go watch the spring training?” Enquires Adam.
“Yeah, of course we’ve been to a few games, are you a tiger’s fan?” My Dad seems surprised.
“No sir, Jay's fan all the way,” Adam states proudly.
“We should catch a game this summer when they are here.” My Dad casually suggests.
“Dad, did you just invite Adam to Jay's game and not me?” I protest.
“I believe I did just do that.” Laughing they continue to talk about sports again and about the place in Florida. I think my Dad likes him; they seem to be getting along well. My mom tells me how good-looking she thinks Adam is. She asks if I’ve met his parents and family yet. We are done eating; my Dad pays the bill and we all walk out together. Mom hugs Adam goodbye, my dad gives him a shake, they both hug me and whisper how they like him. My mom whispers a little louder than I would have liked her to, “You're right he is a lot like Jeremy.” Adam looks at me but says nothing. He holds me around the waist, while my parents drive away Adam says in my ear, “Is that why you love me because I'm like Jeremy?” I pull away from him and head toward my car. Standing at the driver's side door I finally replied to him.
“Why would you ask me that? I love you for you being you. But yes you do have similar traits to Jeremy, my mom should not have said that.”
“Sorry I shouldn't have asked, it was not fair of me. Forget I said anything, I don’t want to ruin the night by fighting. Do you want to go back inside and watch the hockey game?” I let it go only because I was not ready to have this big of a conversation on the same day I told him I loved him. I smile and nod, lock my car, and head back into the bar.
