Chapter 166 Calm

Chapter 166 Calm
Nicholas’s Point Of view

My blood was still boiling. Even though I sternly warned Cassandra’s dad to keep her under control, I still wanted more. How dare they fucking make my son cry–he was my son and no one had a fucking right to even make him sad what more crying. She won't go unpunished for this, she will know how to discipline herself next time.
I dialled Brandon's number which was picked in two rings.
“This better be something important.”His voice was low, his breath heavy. I didn't need to guess what he was doing.
“Call for an emergency meeting in the red house first thing in the morning.” I muttered, teeth clenched.
“What's going on?”I could imagine his brows furrowing.
“Cassandra’s son made my son cry.”
“What the fuck?” Brandon exclaimed. “How dare she let her son do that? Is my boy alright?”
I sucked in a sharp breath. “Samantha and Sam controlled the situation but I'm not satisfied.” I wanted everyone to know what happened when someone tried to mess with my family.
“I'm calling for the meeting now,”Brandon announced. “No one can get to sleep after making him sad.”
“Exactly. How dare they sleep peacefully after making my son cry. Call for the meeting now, I will meet you there.”
I thought maybe he'd say he was busy, that's why I said tomorrow but he was angry at me and that meant a change of plans. I need to deal with this today and now.
“See you in ten minutes.” Brandon ended the call.
As I stepped into the room, I found Samantha seated on the bed, her head rested on the headboard. She snapped her attention to me as soon as she noticed my presence..
“Is everything alright?”She got off the bed and made her way to me.
“I've called for a meeting in the red house.” I informed her.
She narrowed her eyes. “A meeting?” She glanced at the watch on the walls. “At this hour?”
I shrugged.. “Cassandra needs to learn her lesson. I've had enough of her.”
“Are you sure that's what you want?” Samantha lifted a brow. “I mean, her father is an important member of the red house.. I'm sure you don't want to ruin your good relationship with him.”She placed her hand on my chest.
“I'm not letting this go.” I told her my final decision. “She needs to know what happens if she messes with my family.”
Samantha let out a sigh. She took my hand and led me to the bed where we both sat down. “I understand you agree. I was also angry but seeing Noah choosing peace over violence made me realize what kind of a person our son is. He doesn't like the path we both choose and I'd really appreciate it if we let him walk on the path that he wants. This isn't about us.. It's about our son and we should respect his wishes.”
Samantha explained softly, her hand intertwined with mine. After all she did have a point. This wasn't about us, it was about Noah. He was still young and as his parents we are supposed to lead him through the right path and allow him to choose his own path once he grows up.
I smiled as I locked gaze with Samantha, the anger that was boiling within me started cooling down slowly. “You are right.. Thank you for making me see this with another perspective.”
Samantha rested her head on my shoulder. “Thank you for understanding.”
“Can I please make a call?”
Samantha moved from my shoulder and I slipped my hand in my pocket and yanked out my phone. I called Brandon and he answered in one ring..
“I think you need to cancel the meeting.” I muttered.
“Cancel, but why?” He asked, his voice filled with confusion.
“I was angry and not thinking straight. Just cancel it, I will explain everything tomorrow.”
“Oh come on, man!” Brandon complained. “Why did you waste my time.. Do you know what–”
“Don't give me the details please.. I'm sorry for disturbing you.. You can go back to what you were doing.”
Brandon Scoffed.. “She's sleeping, jerk! You've ruined my evening!” He ended the call.
I shook my head in disbelief as I stared at my blank screen. Placing my phone on the nightstand stand, I turned my attention to Samantha. She was already on her side of the bed. I laid next to her and pulled her to my chest.
“So when did you do it?” Samantha asked, breaking the silence.
“Do what?”
She lifted her hand, showing me the ring in her finger. “Last night.. You were fast asleep, I wanted to Surprise you. Do you like it?”
“I love it.. It's beautiful.” Samantha whispered. “Why didn't you wake me up though, I'd have loved to see you make me wear it.”
“I'm sorry, I didn't know you'd feel this way..” I placed a soft kiss on her forehead.
“It's okay.. So when are we getting married?” Samantha asked.
“Soon..” I didn't want her to know of the surprise I was planning for her. She thought I'd been going on a business trip but that wasn't the case. I was doing something that was going to make her happy. She was going to love it I'm sure.
“I'm not in a rush you know, I'm just asking..”
“I know.. But I am in a hurry you know. I can't wait for the world to know that you are mine.”
“And you are mine.”
We fell into a comfortable silence as we enjoyed being in each other's arms. I loved the silence with her, it was peaceful and comforting.
“Oh, Umm. I almost forgot.” Samantha broke the silence. “I had planned a photoshoot for us tomorrow. I feel like we've been too busy and forgot about our son. I want us to spend some time together as a family. He needs to know that we love him and haven't forgotten about him.”
“That sounds fantastic. I'm sure our son is going to like it.” I agreed with her. “I will cancel all my meetings tomorrow.”
I'm sure my son is going to have a good time tomorrow. We've been too busy indeed and he must have been lonely, that's why he didn't tell us about what was happening at his school.
