Roland POV

After I laid Carmilla on the bed, I wanted to leave the room but I felt her pull me back. She whispered something into my ear and pecked my cheek. I held my cheek and looked back at her only to see her sleeping soundly. I left the room after a while and went to my office. As I sat in my office chair, I could not stop thinking about the peck.

“It’s just a peck Roland, not even a real kiss” my wolf said.

“At least it is something” I replied him.

“Work!” He shouted and went quiet.

I sighed and opened the drawer in my desk and brought out some documents. It was the sketched layout of the pack estate. I stood up and walked to the drawing board that was in the corner of the room. Laying out the map on it, I pinned it down and study it for a while. With a pencil in hand, I marked every empty spot and numbered it.

Returned to my desk to pick a notepad, I jotted down every number and the proposed building on that site. More relaxation centers, restaurant, parks, industries and warehouses. I was so engrossed in work that I did not hear the knock on the door.

“ Hey Roland, are you busy?” Lila asked as she walked in.

“ Kind of but I can spare a minute or two. Sit!” I offered her a seat.

“ Is that not the pack estate layout?” she asked and pointed to the drawing behind me.

“Yes, it is” I replied.

“Planning on expanding again uhn?” she asked.

“Yes, we are getting bigger each day” I said.

“Yea, we are and I’m so proud of you” she smiled.

“So what is it you want to talk about Lila?” I asked, going straight to her late night discussion.

“I had a meeting with the elders of the pack and they insisted on you picking a Luna before the next full moon” she said.

“ But I have Carmilla already” I told her.

“ I know but they don’t know that you have intentions of marrying her. Probably thought she is one of the people you saved. You need to explain it to them” she said.

“Hold on, the next full moon is in two weeks time. C’mon Lila, you can expect me to get married to Carmilla in that short space of time”

“ That is why you need to explain to the elders and convince them to give you more time to fix a wedding with Carmilla” she replied.

“You could not have just told them that?” I asked.

“I’m not the one getting married now, am I? Talk to the elders soon Roland. Good night and sleep soon” she said and stood up to leave the room.

“I hope you get married soon” I said and she gave me a glare before she smiled and walked out.

I thought about it for a while and knew I had to speed up the whole wedding plan or else the elders won’t take it easy with me. I would also need to see Carmilla’s Family and pick a date. I sighed and picked up my phone, setting a reminder to see the elder tomorrow and Carmilla’s Family after. I worked for a while before I decided to return to bed. Entering the room to see Carmilla cuddles up with her back towards me, I walked around the bed and squat down to her face and smiled at her cute sleeping face. Ran my finger on her smooth face, she smiled and it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen today. I cuddled up behind her and quickly drifted asleep.

I woke up the next morning to see her stare at me, she did not know I was awake already. She was busy admiring every bit of my face.

“Good morning Princess” I said and jolted her out of her fantasies.

She immediately went shy and replied. We spoke for a while before I stood up to bath. When I came out, she was still lying on the bed. She looked comfortable in bed and I told her to stay in bed.

“I have meetings due today so I would be really busy. I might be home late, don’t wait up” I said and she nodded. I left the room and my first stop was the pack elders. I had sent a message earlier to them so we were to at the pack hall, it is not a long drive so I drove myself. I parked in front of the hall and took in deep breath before I alighted.

The elders were already seated in the hall waiting for me.

“ I’m sorry if I kept you waiting” I apologized as I entered.

“ It’s fine Roland” they said in unison.

“I called for this meeting because Lila told me about your complaint and I would like to plead with you to be patient with me. You all know of Carmilla Silver, the daughter of Alpha Silver?” I asked.

“Yes, she has been in Blue Orchid for a while now” one of the elders replied.

“ That is because I marked her and she is my to be Luna” I said and I got murmurs from them.

“But I heard she is a weakling” Sebastian said, one of the oldest and strongest elder.

“ I know Sebastian. She does not need to be physically strong to be able to handle Luna responsibilities” I said and faced him.

“I would be meeting with her father today to conclude on the wedding plans” I said further.

“ Then it is concluded. We just want you to have a Luna by your side Roland and if Carmilla is your choice, we would support you” Sebastian said and the remaining elders supported.

“Thank you for your support. I would leave now if they is nothing else to talk about” I said and stood up.

“Oh and yea, I also don’t think the wedding would be able to hold in the next full moon. Carmilla needs to be comfortable” I said.

“ The pack expansion?” one of them asked.

“ I’m working on it, I would get back to you when I have finalized it” I said and walked out.

I walked out of the hall relieved that the elders supported me, now Carmilla’s family is the only one left to convince. I was very sure it would be an easy task. I drove to the Silver Pack with soft music playing from the speaker. I suddenly became anxious as I approached the pack. Carmilla’s father is also like a father to me and I’m very sure he would be in full support of the wedding but I have not met other members of the family, I could not predict what their response would be.

Parked in front of the Silver’s pack house and alighted. Gammas were at the entrance to welcome me.

“Welcome Alpha Roland. Alpha Silver and the rest of the family are expecting you already. Come with me” one of the gamma said and I followed behind him.

“Hey Roland!” Carmilla’s father said and stood up to give me an handshake.

“Good day Alpha Silver” I said as I returned the handshake.

“C’mon just call me Langston” he smiled.

“Here, met Carmilla’s uncles and aunts. They all trained Carmilla as a child, she is as precious to them as she is to me.” He said as he introduced everyone of them.

“Nice to meet you all. I’m Roland Millian. Alpha of the Blue Orchid Pack” I said politely.

“ You are quite popular Roland and I would say you are as handsome as the rumors said” one of the aunt’s said and everyone laughed.

Langston offered me a seat and I sat, waiting for them to throw questions.

“So Langston here told us you have intentions towards Carmilla” a man said.

‘Yes, I do. Not just intentions, I want to make her my Luna” I said confidently.

They all murmured.

“Why?” someone asked.

“I see a great Luna in Carmilla. I see someone that can lead my packs with me and support me in every decision I make. Carmilla is not just my mate, she is my soul mate.” I replied.

“ I’m so glad to here that someone is finally going to appreciate our Carmilla”

“You know she is not as strong as every other Luna right?” one of her uncle asked.

“She does not need to be strong. She would get stronger as time goes on and I don’t see that as a reason to not want her” I said.

“Alright then….” They said and looked at Langston.

“ I would not want my daughter to be with any other person than Roland” he said and I sighed in relief.

“ You have the support of me and every family member Roland. Just treat our princess right” Langston said and patted my hand.

“Thank you very much. I promise to treat her well. My family would be in touch about the wedding date” I said.

“ I beg to take my leave” I said and stood up.

“ No. Not until you have lunch with us” Langston said and they all agreed.

I walked with them to the table and it was filled with food of different kind. As we sat to eat, Langston touched my arm.

“Don’t worry Roland. They love you” he said.

“Thank you Langston” I replied.

The Silver family are filled with comedian, the humor on the table was nice as they carried me along in every conversation making me not to feel like a stranger. They chatted on and on about Carmilla’s childhood, I was actually surprised to hear that she was quite stubborn as a kid and not as weak as she looks. Her weakness only started showing few months after her thirteenth birthday but before then she was a strong little wolf that loved obstacle courses. I enjoyed every bit of lunch and conversation and it was finally time for me to leave, each family member shook my hand as they left the house.

“I’m glad our Carmilla found you” Sebastian said to me and I smiled.

After they all left, I was alone with Langston and we strolled to my car slowly enjoying the peaceful silence between us. We stopped as we reached my car.

“ My regards to Carmilla and drive safe” he said and I nodded my head in reply.

The sun was setting already and I still have one more stop before I go back home. I drove to the outskirts of town and turned into a quiet, lonely street with just few people roaming around, the evening sun made a beautiful view as I turned into yet another street. I finally stopped in front of an house and checked the address on my phone to be sure of if I was in the right place.

“Yes, this is it” I said to myself and alighted from the car. The house looked detached from other houses and it was deadly silent. I entered into the house careful and the floor cracked as I walked on it. It was empty and it smelt like dust, it was very obvious that the house has not been used for years. Scattered glass from windows were all over the floor and it was a bit dark with little source of light. I walked further into the house and my shoe made noises as I walked.

“I did not think you would come” a cold voice said behind me.

I looked back and saw him.

“Well, I’m here now. So let’s go straight to business. Shall we?” I replied him.

I drove home late that night and I silently prayed Carmilla did not wait up for me. I pulled into the compound and rested my head on the headrest before I got out. As I opened the living room door, I saw a silm figure lying on the sofa and I immediately knew it was Carmilla. Walking to her side, I saw that she had fallen asleep with a book on her face.

“She must have been waiting for me” I said.

Removed the book from her face and returned it to the shelf.

“Roland?” I heard her.

“Yes Carmilla”

“You’re back?” it sounded more like a question than a statement.

“Yes, I am”

“ I missed you” she said with her eyes still closed.

“I know” I picked her up and carried her to the room.
