Chapter 15: Fifteen

Carmilla’s POV

I stirred from my sleep. I couldn’t move, an arm was draped around my waist strongly. He cuddled me to sleep late night. I wasn’t expecting him to come back to bed with me after he left the room last night.

The outing was amazing. I had so much fun and even tho the rest of the night seemed hazy, I at least had a nice sleep and a nice rest. It feels good to be cuddled by someone, who isn’t my old bed and pillow back at my Dad’s pack. Roland doesn’t know how much it means to me that he brought me here and treats me like he actually loves me and cares for me and doesn’t treat me like a stick that can break at any moment.

I could smell his cologne. He’s right beside me . His breath fanning against my ear. “He smells like mist and green woods” I thought to myself as I turned around to face him . He looks so cute when he sleeps. His lips in a small pout. His jaw seems so relaxed. His face seems so peaceful. I thank the Moon goddess for giving me another mate like Roland even after I got rejected by one, I was blessed with another. I’m so lucky.

I didn’t notice until I felt his touch that he was already awake. “Good morning princess.” Roland’s voice broken through my thoughts. Instantly becoming shy once more . I replied with a whisper “Good morning Roland.” He took my chin in between his fingers and made me look into his eyes “why are you still so formal with me piccolina (little one)?”

“Call me anything else but my name.”

I thought about his words, and nodded mindlessly to assure him that his words truly did register in my head. He got up from the bed and pecked me on my cheek and went into my bathroom and left me alone with my thoughts. I snuggled further into the bed, already missing his warmth around my body. I felt to lazy too get out of bed. So I stayed there, till he came out and walked over to me “you seem to be in a very comfortable place, Princess.”

“I need to go and attend to some things and I have meetings due for today. Don’t get out of bed if you don’t need to, I’ll ask for all your meals to be sent up to your room today, Okay?”

I nodded rapidly and answered with a short whisper “thank you.” As he left the room. I thought about all of the things that are yet to come for me in the future. As the mate to an Alpha, I was yet to begin my duties as Luna of the pack.

“Was I good enough to be his Luna?” I was too weak and too fragile. Wouldn’t that make me an easy target for other packs. What if he eventually saw me as a weakness and decides to reject me?.

Everyone sees me as someone weak and probably doesn’t even think I would make it through the day

My head hurts just thinking about all of this .” I’ll just lie for a few more minutes and be up and about once more.” I thought to myself as I let my consciousness slip away from me as I laid there to sleep.

It wasn’t too long. I felt myself being shaken awake. The maid that must have come to call me or take something looked at with relief washed across her face as she fought back tears in her eyes . I was only asleep for a little while, Why did she seem so scared.

“I brought up breakfast up not too long ago, But you were sleeping Luna . I took it back down because I didn’t want to disturb you. I came back with lunch and knocked at the door for quite some time but you still didn’t respond. I got scared and came in, only to meet you on the bed still asleep. Which was weird , so I tried waking you up but you didn’t respond. I got scared ,But I didn’t mean to scare you or come into your room without your permission.”

I looked around and thought about all she had said. Did she say lunch!??

“It is fine. Thank you for waking me up.” I guess I was really tired from all the activities of yesterday. I dismissed her and sat up . I looked around the room and saw my lunch on the table. I had slept on my sides and now they tingle with a little bit of pain .

I stood up from the bed and walked to the bathroom, locked the door behind me as I walked in and stripped myself of clothes, got into the showers, lathered my body , washed my hair and rinsed off. I felt much better as the warm shower soothed my aching sides.

Walking out of the shower . I tended to my hair, dried my body and applied ointment to my skin. I wasn’t the strongest female out there but the moon goddess blessed me with amazing body features. After setting my hair into a messy bun, and putting on my comfy clothes . I sat down to eat lunch while going through a few things and information I had gotten over the months .

A lot of people didn’t know it, But I was regularly updated on things going on around the world, In Moon pack, I had eyes on lots of things . I might be weak, but that wasn’t going to make me useless.

Once I had finished eating, I walked to the tiny bookshelf Roland had created in my room after he found out about my little interest in History. I picked out a book on ancient historical society beliefs and walked to the balcony and sat down to read .

I had sat at the balcony for what seemed like half-an-hour when I heard a knock on my door. “ Come in.” I said when Lila walked into my room with a welcoming smile on her face .

“How long have you been sitting there Cam? It seems like you’ve gotten quite comfortable with reading out there.” I giggled at her words when I noticed my sitting posture and surroundings. I didn’t notice if gotten so comfortable being on the balcony. Ancient society beliefs were quite interesting to learn .

“Sorry to ruin your reading time, but I’m going shopping and I know you haven’t really been out of the house all day. Sooooo, I want you to come with me. If that’s okay?”

I didn’t think Lila would be keen on shopping because she seemed so strong and fierce, definitely not the type of lady you’d assumed went shopping for clothes and shoes and girly stuff.

“Sure, I’d love to come with you. Let me just go change to something else” I most definitely didn’t want to go out with a messy bun and my comfy clothes to go shopping looking like a lost kid crying for candy”.

I got dressed and walked down to the car with Lila. She is quite fun to talk to and hang out with. We went out of the pack estate in Lila’s car as we drove to the LA MEGA MALL. As soon as we drove into the parking space, I noticed 2 other cars drive into the parking lot and came out some men who looked quite familiar. They all bowed their heads to both me and Lila and all my doubts were cleared. They’re all from the pack house possibly gamma’s. “They’re here to protect us Carmilla. Just in case anything happens, Okay?”

“Yes Lila. I understand”. I said as we walked inside the mall. It was very large. “Where do you think we should go to first?” . I didn’t know where to go, but it seemed like even though Lila had asked a question, she was already dragging me with her into a huge store.

The store was filled with varieties of shoes, heels, names of designers I have never heard before.

“ Roland took me for shopping yesterday so I don’t think I would need anything” I told Lila as we walked around the sections.

“Rubbish! This is me. I want to get stuffs for you. I never had someone to do this with you know so we just play pretend that you don’t have anything” Lila said.

I laughed “ Sure Lila”

I really did not know what to pick since I got enough yesterday but with Lila trailing behind me, she made sure I pick an item from each shelf. We both went into the dressing room together, she sat and I pulled the curtain over my naked body as I changed.

“ Roland has not done anything to make you regret following him right?” Lila shouted so I could hear.

“Not at all. He is quite the opposite of what I thought “ I replied.

“ What do you mean?” she asked.

“ I have always thought all Alpha were arrogant, selfish and proud and Alex kind of proved it not until Roland came” I explained.

“But your dad is an alpha” she said.

“I never saw him as an Alpha. He was my father” I replied.

“ Yea, so how was growing up like? No siblings, no friends. It must be really boring”

“Nah, not really. I had my father and few family members ready to have fun with me but I don’t have friends my age except Ashley and she left few years ago” I said.

“Left?” Lila asked.

“She got married into another pack so yea she left. It was quite fun with my dad tho”

Lila is actually the opposite of her brother, she is more of a talker than a listener but I don’t think everyone get to see this hidden side of her. She always puts up a stern look with commanding tone but when she is with me, she is different.

“Are you done?” she asked.

“Almost” I replied and quickly pulled my zipper up.

I came out of the closet and she stared at me.

“You look pretty Carmilla” she complimented.

“Thank you”

“How about you try bridal dresses on? I really want to see how you would look” she said excitedly.

“Uhmmm….” I thought about it.

“C’mon, Please!!!” she begged.

“Okay, fine” I said in defeat.

Rolls of bridal dresses were dragged inside few minutes later and it was difficult to pick a choice. I eventually ended up with three dresses and decided to try them all on.

One after the other, I tried the dresses and they all looked pretty. The last one I wore was very beautiful, Lila and I were amazed by how fitted and elegant it looked.

“This is very beautiful” I said as I admire myself in the mirror.

“It is”

“Too bad I would not be needing it anytime soon” I said and Lila was quiet.

“Lila?” I called.

“Sorry, I was enchanted by the dress and your beauty” she said and I blushed.

“ We can always come back for it when you do need it” she added.

“I really hope it would still be here” I replied as I took it off.

We got some few other stuffs and Lila got watches and shoes for herself. Turns out that she is a huge collector of wristwatch.

We returned home and Roland was not yet back. I was surprised because it was unusual for him to keep late night. I then remembered he already mentioned it earlier this morning. Dinner was served and I did not have appetite as I was anxious for Roland to return so I can tell him all about my day.

After dinner, Lila returned to her room with the excuse of going to finish her novel. I sat in the living room for a while, regularly watching the clock and staring into the fireplace. I was feeling dizzy so I took out a book from the shelf and read.

I fell asleep with the book on my face.
