Chapter 51
Enzo paused for a few seconds when he heard this, his eyes heavy as he stared at his father. 

"A wife?" He repeated slowly, wanting to make sure that he heard what his father said correctly. 

His father has never been interested in this marriage before this, and now he suddenly wanted him to take a wife? 

"Enzo, your father is doing this for your own good. If you get married to a woman from a powerful family, you are going to have a lot of support that you will need later. You need to get all of the nobles on your side," the Queen Latisha's gaze was soft as she tried to convince her son. 

She knew what her husband was trying to do, and she knew that her son could be very stubborn. She was hundreds percent in support that he should marry from a powerful family and not a peasant.

“You must marry someone with influence. If you do not marry who we want then I will make sure that maid you love will be killed”

Enzo's eyes turned red, his claws came out and his veins became more pronounced. He felt like bringing this entire castle to the ground after his father said what he just said.

“And her family will be in danger too” king Hector threatened further just to make his son bend to his will. 

As much as Enzo was angry, he needed to play smart. He can’t do anything foolish that will risk Marina’s life and the life of family . If not , he will never forgive himself. 

"Fine," Enzo said with so much difficulty as his fist was still clenched tight, piercing through his skin. He said he will never bend to their will but he just did.

"Just think about the position you're going to be in if the Baron really becomes more powerful than you. Do you think that I am going to be king forever? I just want you to have some kind of backing..." the king was speaking.

"You want me to get married to some woman from a powerful noble family, and I said yes. I am going to do it. After all, I already knew that my marriage was not going to be up to me. You sent my sisters far away from the kingdom to marry powerful men because you want to make connections. I didn't think for once that you wouldn't do this to me" Enzo's tone was sharp, and they all knew that he was blaming his father. 

The king was about to lose his temper again, but Queen Latisha grabbed his arm and shook her head, her gaze soft. 

The king took a deep breath, Enzo had already agreed to do what he wanted so he didn't see a need to fight with his son. 

"Since you have agreed, I don't have anything else to say. I will invite the woman I have picked out for you into the palace in a few days so you'll get to know each other. A banquet will also be held to introduce her as your fiance to the entire kingdom. Everyone needs to know that the crown prince has picked a wife!" 

"Father, since you want me to get married, I will get married. As for the wife you've picked out for me, I really don't have any opinions about her. However, if you are thinking about using this to fight against the baron, I will advise you to drop that idea! The reason why our kingdom is the most powerful and why so many kings do not care to invade this place is because of the baron! He has singlehandedly raised the prestige of our kingdom over the years. As the king, you should be thankful to have such a subject working for you”

Enzo knew his father’s real intentions. The king was afraid of Damian influence and power.

“Besides, if you really wanted to get rid of Damian, I can assure you that things won't go the way you want. Instead of antagonizing him and causing internal strife in the kingdom, you should focus your attention on other things!" 

"How dare you?!" The king roared at Enzo as soon as he was done, his gaze almost spitting fire 

Enzo did not bother with his father anymore. He knew that the king was well set in his ways and his words won't convince him to stop too easily. 

Not wanting to listen to the scolding anymore, Enzo turned and headed out while the king continued to curse at him. 

"What the heck is the meaning of this?! Has he lost his mind? I am doing everything for him! His position as crown prince is about to be undermined and he doesn't even notice it yet! " The king shouted. 

The queen walked over to him and tried to calm him down, "please calm down, Your Majesty. You know the way Enzo is. He doesn't mean half the things he said. Besides, he already agreed to the marriage. That means he knows that you're just trying to look out for him. There's no need for you to fall out with the crown prince now!" Latisha said, as she let out a huge sigh. 

What she wanted the most was for her husband and son to get along, but that seemed to be impossible these days. 

"Do you really think that he knows that I am doing this for his own good? He is still friends with Damian! Do you really believe that the baron doesn't have any other plans?" The king turned to his wife as he asked this. 

Deep down, he was scared, really scared of Damian's growing power. 

He was the most powerful wolf in the land and even his own subjects thought he would make a good king! 

The king knew what it was like to have a subject more powerful than him and he didn't want that to happen to Enzo, because it happened to him in the past!

When Nezo went to his chamber, he distorted everything. 

“Your Highness suit need to out yourself you need to be calm” His guard said

“Shut up!!” Enzo’s beast roared 

His beast was more angry than he was

The guards all shifted away from him and bowed in apology. 

“At midnight, I want you to bring Marina here. Tell her to prepare. I’m sending her far away. This castle is no longer safe for her and I do not want her to witness me getting married to another woman, it will be too heartbreaking” Enzo said sadly. 

His guard bowed his head "Should we also search for the informant?”

Someone had told the king that he was in a romantic relationship with a maid, so they need to find out who that is.

“Yes and do that fast, I want that person’s head” Enzo gritted his teeth.

He will not spare the person that gave out that information to his parents.

At midnight he had sent Marina away back to her family and he also had people protecting her cause anyone can use her against him. She was his weak point.

Marina was sad but she knew the prince had no other choice. For now they will have to be far away from each other.
