Chapter 49
Althea, seeing the maid's resistance, started to panic more. She knew that it would only be a matter of time before Damian was informed.  

"Please, I really need him to get out of this place. I...."

"I am sorry, but I can't do that. The crown prince has ordered that we take good care of you. If something happens then I....I am going to lose my life" The maid complained. 

Althea bit her lip, she was not willing to give up like this. 

"You don't need to do anything for me. You just need to tell me how the man that was with me can leave this palace. I will take everything from there..." Althea assured the maid. 

The maid had a conflicted look on her face, Althea looked like she was determined no matter what, and she felt some pity for the woman. 

"Well, you can..." the maid said.

"He can’t leave, not after he tried to help you escape?" 

Althea froze when she heard this voice, and the maid looked like she was about to pass out. She bowed her head as soon as the crown prince"s face came into view. 

"Crown prince!" She called out, with her heart racing fast against her chest. 

Crown prince Enzo watched Althea standing. She was really a willful woman who dared to do anything. 

Amongst all of the noble female werewolves in the kingdom, he had not seen anyone who was as brave as her! Because it requires a lot of braveness to be able to run from the Baron.

"You can’t keep him here, you have to let him go” Althea insisted. 

"And what do you think will happen if I let him go? Do you think he will be able to escape successfully from Damian, you think Damian won’t have his guards chase after him until he catches him?" Enzo asked her.

Alicia clenched her fist 

"As for the maid who you want to help you..." Enzo's eyes fell on the maid who was shaking like a leaf from fear. 

"Do you think Damian will keep her alive?" He asked.

"I just..." Althea looked at the maid with guilt.. 

"She would definitely die if she had helped you! Are you sure you want to endanger people's lives like this?" Enzo continued on, without a single hint of care in his tone. 

"Please, Your Highness! I wasn't going to help her! I already told her that it was impossible!" The maid knelt down and pleaded.

Althea bit her lips as she looked at the woman who was now kneeling on the floor, crying and begging for her life. 

“I already informed Damian, he is on his way here” Enzo informed her.

Althea felt like the ground should open and swallow her. Her heart beat increased, that Enzo and the other werewolves in the room could hear it.

Althea looked at the crown prince “I understand that Damian is your close friend but still you are aware that this marriage is against my wish. You know he forced me into this marriage, couldn’t you have turned a  blind eye to my escape?” 

Enzo shakes his head “There is no way I could have turned a blind eye after you were brought here and I saw it was you. When my guards informed me that they found a woman with a man in the woods I suspected you were the one and when you came unconscious, I was sure that it was you”

“You might not believe it but Damian loves you so much, more than you can imagine, what he wants is to just spend the rest of his life with you, it has always been his dream since over 10 years ago when he first met you” he added.

Althea was surprised hearing him mentioned ten years ago, Damian always talked about meeting her ten years ago but she called him a liar many times since she had no memory of it “Oh, he also told you that lie, that he met me ten years ago?” Althea asked.

“I know you think it’s a lie but it’s not. Why not forgive and forget the fact that he forced you into this marriage and try to get to know him, I’m sure little by little you will learn to love him and might even remember your lost memories” Enzo said.

Althea shakes her head “I will never…..”

“Your highness, the Baron has arrived,” one of the guards announced.

Enzo looked at Althea and watched her as she shifted back in fear.

“Please your highness don’t let him kill Luis, he is going to do something bad to him for helping me, please I beg you. I will return back with him but please don’t let him take Luis” Althea pleaded.

Enzo sighed before turning around and walking out of the room. 

Enzo went to the leaving room of his chamber and saw Damaian pacing around. 

“You're here,” Enzo said to him.

Damian stopped moving and turned to look at him “What is this all about?” Damian asked.

You better hurry cause as you can see I’m busy looking for my wife that ran away from me!” Damian’s said in anger

"She is here?" Enzo said to him. 

“Althea is here?” Damian moved closer to him

“Yes, my people found her in the woods and….”

“Where is she!” Damia interrupted him.

Enzo sighed “ The room by the left at the end of the passage”

Damian walked out of there and headed to the room he said she was in. His hands clenched tightly and his face changed to that of serious anger, he doesn’t know what he will do when he sets his eyes on her.

Back in the leaving room

Your highness, what about the man with her? Will you let him go as she said?” the prince's right hand man asked.

Enzo sighed “I do not know yet”
