Chapter 48
Judan ran a hand through his hair in frustration when he heard this. He cursed violently in his mind.

"What is wrong with you, Alicia? How could you act without telling me about it!!? Do you think that you are so smart that you can fool the baron?" Judan scolded her. 

"What else could I have done?!" She snapped back at her father, because although she had failed, she didn't want to admit defeat. 

"I only took action because you refused to help me! I am your daughter, if you had done something when I told you that I wanted to become the baroness, then I wouldn't have acted on my own! Anyway, that human princess doesn't love the baron! She wants to leave him. All that I did was help her leave!" Alicia insisted in her heart that she was right. 

She was the only one fit to be the baroness in the entire kingdom, and sooner or later, Damian would have to acknowledge that fact! 

"Do you know that your actions have put me in a terrible position? If Damian finds evidence of this and he accuses me in front of the king, what do you think that I can do?" Judan was very worried. 

He didn't want to lose his position as prime minister! There were so many people in the kingdom who were eyeing his position, if they caught wind of his daughter's mistake, they would use it to get rid of their entire family. 

Alicia still did not see the bigger picture, she was only thinking about how she was going to be baroness.

"I told you this before. If I got married to Damian it would only make your position stronger. If you are the baron's father in law, no one will dare to go against you. But you refused to listen and didn't help me," Alicia blamed her father for everything. 

"Are you sure that the only thing that you helped Althea do was to escape?" 

Alicia nodded her head vehemently, "yes, I only helped her escape," she lied. 

Judan gave Alicia a long look, not sure if he should believe her words or not. 

"I really hope that the only thing you helped her do was escape. If you dared to do anything else and you were exposed, I really don't know if I'll be able to save you or not!" Judan warned her strongly .



Althea looked at the bedroom that she was in, her mind blown away. It was really big, not bigger than her own chambers in Damian's residence of course, but she was supposed to be a prisoner here, was it alright for her bedroom to be this big?

Besides, she had also been treated really well since she got here, not at all like a prisoner. The maids were very attentive to her, and they gave her whatever she asked for. 

The only downside was that she had no idea what had happened to Luis. 

He had been separated from her as soon as they got here, and she had no idea where they took him. Althea wondered if Luis was being treated as well as she was being treated. For some reason, she felt this was not the case.

They had tried to fight the royal guards but then it was not easy. She tried to use her powers but since she was still an amateur they had defeated her including Luis who had sword skills. These guards are werewolves, so they could not beat them and ended up being brought here against their wish.

Someone knocked on the door just then, and without waiting for her to answer, pushed the door open and walked into the bedroom. 

She was carrying a tray of fruits, and Althea frowned when her eyes fell on the tray. 

"His Highness wanted me to bring this," the maid said. 

“Who is his highness that you are referring to?” Althea asked. 

She was yet to know who had ordered her to be brought to the castle. The king had lots of sons and daughters so which of them? She hoped it was not who she thought it was because then she would be doomed.

The only member of the royal family she had ever met was the crown prince that Damian had introduced to her during the Arena games. If he is the one then Damian would have already found out she was here. Alicia’s heart beat fasts.

“I’m referring to the crown prince” the maid.

Althea gasped, and her face went pale at once when she heard this. 

“The crown prince?!” Althea's eyes widened. Althea was suddenly afraid, she had managed to escape from Damian only to fail for the second time because surely the crown prince would inform Damian that he had captured her. 

“What about Luis? What happened to Luis? I need to know where he is! I have to get out of here!!” Althea immediately stood up but was stopped by two guards.

“The crown prince said you can’t leave?” One of the guards said.

Althea breathing hastened in panic. Right now she was not thinking about what Damian would do to her after she had escaped, she was rather concerned about what he would do to Luis. Damian might kill him for coming to Westland to help her escape from him. 

Always sat on the bed and held her hands together and her legs shaken in panic. Suddenly an idea came to her mind. 

She stood up and grabbed hold of the maids hand "Tell me where Luis, please I beg you!!” Althea said to the maid.

The maid looked at her like she had lost her mind. "Are you talking about the person that came here with you?” The maid asked 

“Yes yes, I need to speak to him please help me. He did nothing wrong and he is not from this place, he needs to leave!”
