Althea suddenly pulled her hand away from him and held his hand instead.
“What are you doing?!!” Luis asked her because he could not understand why she was holding his hand instead.
“Do you forget I can run fast?” Althea said this while they were still running normally.
Luis nodded, remembering.
“You ready?” She asked
Luis nodded and the next thing he saw was them moving at speed light.
The wolf was close to them before but was far away now. He was in awe at how fast she now runs.
They ran and ran until they could no longer see the beast, and just when they thought that it was all over, another beast suddenly jumped in front of them.
Althea was shocked “Another one?" Althea
"Arghhh!!" Althea screamed out loud, as her fear intensified.
Alicia had told her that it was going to be dangerous, but she never thought that she and Luis would be so unlucky
"Luis.." tears were rolling down her cheeks as she grabbed onto him for dear life
She didn't just endanger her own life, Althea realised that she had also gotten Luis in trouble!
Luis refused to panic although he was scared too, he stared menacingly at the beast that was now approaching them.
No matter what, even if it cost him his life, he had to make sure that Althea was safe.
"Althea...I am going to distract it so run as far as you can....make sure that you don't get caught!" He warned her.
Althea knew that Luis was about to sacrifice himself for her and she shook her head with tears rolling down her cheeks.
"No..I am not going to let you do that!" She refused to go.
“We can both run as far as possible away from this thing,” Althea said.
“Yes, but more will come, it's either, I stay here to distract them or we die. So listen to me and get out of here now!" Luis barked at her.
"I got you into this situation because I wanted to escape. Am I supposed to let you deal with this all on your own?!" Althea said to him.
Just as they were going back and forth with each other, the beast lurched at them.
Both of them sucked in a breath, Luis and Althea were convinced now that they were going to die.
Luis brought out his sword and Alicia did the same while wincing in pain. They looked at their backs and there were too many beasts.
However, someone shot an arrow just then and it hit the beasts right on their chest!
The large beast who had been prepared to devour both of them fell to the ground with a thud and his eyes closed.
Luis and Althea who were holding on to each other for support turned to look back at the person who had saved them.
Their hearts calmed down a bit when they saw a handsome looking man riding on a horse over to them.
Luis was still on guard even though they had just been saved
This person who was in this dangerous woods could not be a simple person at all!
Luis could also see the way his eyes were focused on Althea. He wondered why, but they remembered they were on the run, it might be one of Damai's guards dressed in disguise.
He had managed to escape, going back will never be an option.
The man jumped down from the horse when he was close enough to Althea and Luis, and he sniffed around them suspiciously.
Luis pulled Althea even closer to himself when he saw the men acting like this, and he eyed him even more suspiciously.
Althea noticed the other average looking man that had been riding with the handsome man who had saved them.
He too jumped down from the horse when the first man came down.
"What are two humans doing here?" The handsome man who had saved them spoke up, a smile on his face.
"It's none of your business," Luis snarled at the man.
He felt like he could not trust this person. There was something about the smile on his face...it just made him think that he was hiding something.
The man behind the handsome man drew out a sword as he approached Luis menacingly.
The handsome man raised his hand to stop the other man from speaking more.
"That's enough, Randy. It seems like he finds us suspicious. But you both don’t have to worry, we are here to help anyone who is tranced in the forest”
Luis took a good look at the person in front of him, of course he was suspicious about who they really were, they had fought like warriors.
"We don't know you. How are we supposed to trust that you don't have bad intentions?" Luis questioned him.
"You..." The man with the sword moved even closer.
Althea, seeing that the situation was about to get out of hand, stepped in.
"I am sorry, sir. My friend was just worried. We have just been attacked, and he is on guard. Please forgive us and thank you for saving our life," Althea spoke up.
Luis frowned, he didn't like that Althea was bowing her head, but Althea punched him, indicating for him to stop.
They were the ones in trouble!
The man nodded his head, an understanding smile on his face and stared at Althea's face.
"What are your names?" He asked her
"My name is Nora, and this is Francis," Althea was not stupid.
She didn't know who this man was yet, and she had no idea if he would be on Damian's side.
Even if he had saved them, she knew that she could not tell them her real identity.
"My name is Gerald," the man said.
The man who had the sword frowned when he heard this, but he didn't say anything else
Althea nodded with a smile, she really didn't care if he also told her a fake name.
"Well, could you please tell us the fastest way out of this place? We promise that we won't bother you anymore," Althea asked humbly.
Gerald shook his head with a sinister smile on his face, "you are two humans who sneaked in here. I have no idea what you're plotting against the kingdom of Westland so I can't just let you leave yet! Randy, arrest them and take them back with us!" Gerald ordered.
