CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE

MARK’S POV

I couldn’t hold back my shock as I saw dad’s men drag Vivian into the palace. It couldn’t be. She was dead, wasn’t she? As far as I remember, Vivian was dead. She couldn’t possibly be alive. Right?
I mean, a few guards even returned and said they had seen her dead body so how the hell was she still alive? Walking as majestically as ever. She had her luggage in hand. And in her other hand, she held a little boy that looked like the complete replica of… Derek.
What the fuck?
I squinted, trying to get a better look. I watched as the guards tried to push her forward, but she tried maintaining her own balance herself as she asked them not to push her. The look she gave them was really enough to stop them. I turned back immediately, hurrying back into the palace. There was no way this kind of things were happening and I wasn’t going to inform my father about it. how did his men know that they were supposed to bring her? Were they somehow wherever she was living and decided to bring her home?
I was trying to make sense of everything that was happening and it was honestly not adding up.
I looked for my father in his chamber and in the throne room, but he just wasn’t there. Then I remembered that he said he wanted to show Amelia where Derek’s room was. That alone made me frown. I might not have been that smart, but it didn’t make sense to me that Amelia and Vivian were back to the pack the same day.
But then… Amelia returned herself, and my father’s men had caught Vivian.
I walked into the room, and I heard voices from the bathroom instead. Why the hell was the whole room smelling like a dead body?
“Are the cleaners not doing their jobs?” I asked as I walked into the bathroom. The sight that I saw was enough to stop me in my tracks.
Anna was kneeling on the floor with tears streaming down her eyes while Amelia and my father were asking her to leave. “Leave to where?” I asked, and they barely answered me. But she did. Of course.
“Your father wants me to leave the palace,” she said, trying to hold more tears back in. I had never seen her cry that much.
“Father, what did she do?” I asked, and he frowned. His face was red with anger. Whatever she had done must have been of great offence. It was really hard to ever see his face get that red.
“She almost slit your brother’s wrist,” Amelia answered for my father.
What? She had that sort of skill? I didn’t know if I was supposed to be ashamed of her. But I wasn’t. after all, it was hard to find Lunas that wanted to take that sort of risk. I was impressed.
“So?” I asked, and Amelia frowned.
“You will be comfortable with her killing your brother? You wouldn’t give a fuck in the world?”
I shrugged again. I had always wished to be an only child. I didn’t know what she was making a fuss about.
“Anna won't be leaving, father,” I announced. “She will be my mate from now on. She has rejected Derek.”
My father opened his mouth to speak, but I wasn’t even giving him that chance. I took Anna’s hand, with her eyes that remained wide as I led her out of the room. I didn’t know why I felt like I owed her that much. I wasn’t going to be giving her any kind of special treatment of course, but at least I had saved her from becoming homeless.
I was almost out of the door when I remembered what I had even come to do. “Oh and your men had managed to capture Vivian,” I said, and I was sure as hell that I saw Derek move his head in my direction. He wanted to see if I was saying the truth. There was something about that guy. Something we didn’t know anything about. If he was pretending to deceive all of us, I knew very well that I wasn’t going to hesitate to slit his throat in his sleep.
“What?” father asked, and I nodded. There was no need of repeating myself. Amelia had her eyes widened as she attempted running out of the room.
“Where are you going?” father asked, and she turned back, practically giving him a horrified look.
“Didn’t you hear what he said? He just said Vivian is back. I can't let her see me here.”
The look on my father’s face showed satisfaction. If there was something bothering him, his doubt had been settled.
“She doesn’t have a right to chase you out of here. I was practically the one that asked you come here. She has no right to try to change anything.”
I narrowed my eyes at the both of them. Even Anna was doing the same thing, but she was being subtle about it. of course, she didn’t want to be on their bad sides again. I wanted to tell her that she wasn’t on their good side even then. They were just having a little bit of pity on her, and that was because of me. If I had changed my mind, then even she would be out of the palace in seconds.
I couldn’t help but wonder if my father was planning on taking Amelia as his Luna. Of course, ever since she got back, her skin has been slowing. And she lost weight in the right places. It was almost as if her weight loss made her eyes pop in a way.
I couldn’t tell if it was a choice. Or if she had lost weight because she was suffering. Her clothes seemed expensive, so I couldn’t even tell.
One of my father’s men walked into the room, wrinkling his nose at the smell. It was almost like we all forgot that Derek was there. But he was there alright. Not making even one single sound. For the first time, having a conversation felt nice.
“We’ve been able to find Vivian, Alpha. She’s here with us.”
“Took you long enough,” my father said, as he walked out of the room with the guard. I narrowed my eyes at Amelia, and she did the same as she hissed and walked out of the room.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked, grabbing her arm. She looked down at it, and snatched her arm away. “I’m headed to the room that the Alpha has provided for me. And you have no say in that. So please, move.”
She was out of the room in seconds. I was having a bad feeling about everything, and I was definitely going to tell my father about it. Anna went down on her knees immediately, and I took a step back as she attempted holding my feet.
“What are you holding my feet for?” I asked, and she looked up at me with teary eyes.
“Thank you for accepting me as your mate. I didn’t know what I did to deserve that.”
I smirked. “Now, go to my room and clean it up.”
She frowned. “But we have maids for that.”
“Do you want to be my Luna or not?” I asked, kicking her stomach as I walked out of the room. I wanted to be the second person after my father to really set my eyes on Vivian. I was still finding it hard to believe that she was alive in flesh and blood.
