CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY

VIVIAN’S POV
I looked around the pack one more time. It was almost as if there was another spirit that had entered me as I walked through the gates. My body felt like it was on fire. I almost dropped Miles. But I could never. He was more quiet than usual. His eyes were fixed upstairs. Right at Derek’s room. I didn’t know if I was making the right decision bringing him there, but I knew I couldn’t have left him in the city alone. Plus, Amelia had asked me to rush down. If not, I would have been at the city for a week more. I handed all the office responsibilities to my assistant. I trusted her that much. Plus, I had other things that I was supposed to be handling at this point. I couldn’t be leaving Amelia to handle everything.
I planned everything, and it worked out properly. I had already walked out of the office, and headed for the parking lot instead. I knew that they were going to be parading that area at that time. They thought that was when I usually got to work. They always got their timing wrong. I didn’t know how Logan managed to work with them. But that was what seemed to help me escape them anyway.
This time, I walked right into them with my luggage and with Miles in my other hand. They quickly came to hold me. I barely even struggled with them as they carried me all the way to the car. Before I knew it, we were right in front of the pack. They made Miles and I come down from the car, and walked through the gates. I didn’t know who informed people of my arrival, but they were there, alright. All eyes were practically on me. And on Miles of course. I was sure that they were already putting two and two together. They weren’t that stupid.
“The Alpha wants to see you in the throne room.” One of the guards said, and I nodded. That was the least I could do. I didn’t want to seem like I was too happy. Even if I was. Because I mean, I was literally a genius to make this whole thing work.
“Mama,” Miles was constantly saying, and I rubbed on his back to keep him from talking. I could tell that he was feeling something. It was either that he wasn’t comfortable with the whole place. I swallowed hard as I led him inside. The guards were solidly behind us. They were watching us like their lives depended on it. I wanted to laugh. I tossed my hair back, pretending to be confident.
My heart was literally racing in my chest. I walked into the throne room, and Alpha Logan was there, sitting on his throne. I could still never forget that he had actually killed my father. And for some reason, I felt the kind of warmth that I only felt when my father was around me. I turned around curious to see if he was there with me. But he wasn’t. I felt this kind of disappointment. I didn’t know why I still hoped for him to be there every time. He had already told me that he had departed to the spirit world.
“Vivian,” Alpha Logan said, drawing my name out. “To what do I owe this visit?” he asked, and I rolled my eyes.
“You had your men abduct me. What do you want?” I asked, and he narrowed his eyes at me. I looked around the throne room, waiting to see if I was going to see Amelia.
“I just wanted to show you that I was going to do anything with you if I wi…” he suddenly stopped mid sentence. “Who owns that child?” he asked, looking at Miles.
I held my child closer to me. “Whose child does it look like?” I asked, and he looked like he was going to have a heart attack.
“Derek’s?” he asked. I quickly saw him give some kind of signal to the guards. They tried moving towards me, but I held my hand out.
“If any of you try holding me, then you will know what I’m actually capable of. Touch me or my child, and you’ll understand why I was thriving in the city.”
He waved his hands, and the guards stood back. “Good,” I said, smirking. “Now, speak. What do you need me for?”
He made an attempt to slap me, but the look on my face stopped his hand mid air.
“You don’t know how to respect your Alpha anymore?” he asked, and that only made me smirk more.
“As far as I remember, I am no longer a member of your pack. So how the fuck are you my Alpha?”
Mark walked in just then. “What are you doing here?” he asked me, and I absolutely ignored him. He turned to face his father. “Why is she here, father?” he asked, and Alpha Logan sighed.
“I asked my men to bring her here. She needs to be kept on a leash.”
My eyes widened in fake surprise. I absolutely expected it. “I was in the city, in my own lane, minding my business. How the hell was I in your lane?”
He didn’t answer me then. He gave his men another signal, and they were dragging me out of the throne room again. I put up some drama, trying to fend the men off. Miles just stared at me like he knew exactly what I was doing. The boy was smart, no doubt.
I allowed the men to lead me to one of the rooms, where they pushed me in. I made sure to hold on to Miles tightly.
“The Alpha has ordered you never to leave. Everything that you need will be brought to your room.”
I looked around. The room was practically in a bad condition. “I can't stay here,” I said, and they shut the door in my face.
I stood at the middle of the room, while Miles tugged on my skirt. I finally looked down at him, and he pointed at the window. I looked at the window, and saw Amelia’s figure right there and then. She waved at me, with a huge smile on her face. I hurried to open it, and she jumped right in. She hugged me there and then like she hadn’t seen me in years. I tried to stop my giggling.
“Come on, let’s go.” She said, grabbing my arms and pulling Miles along as she tried leading us outside.
“What are you doing?” I asked, and she frowned.
“Why do you think you’re here? We have to go see Derek.”
I shook my head immediately. What the hell was she thinking? There was no way I was going to go and see the same person that practically made my life a living hell. I was more than that. I wasn’t going to let anyone push me around like that.
“I’m not going anywhere,” I said, and she shrugged.
“I know you probably hate him right now, but he’s dying. You need to see that.”
“It’s really none of my business. I was dying when he kicked me out of his life. So I’m fucking done.”
“So why did you come here if it wasn’t to save him?” she asked.
“I didn’t come here to save him. And neither did you. We are both here just because we have to be here. Nothing else. We are here because we need to find out the reason why our parents died. And how they died as well. Nothing more, nothing less. You understand me?” I asked, and she nodded.
Perfect.
