Chapter 111 Usel*ss

Chapter 111 Usel*ss
Scarlett’s POV

The surprise was still glued to my face as I glued my eyes on her back.

She stirred the coffee in the mug and walked over to me. I was surprised that she could walk just fine.

“You got all better….” I said slowly.

“Just so you could go to work” she said and dropped the coffee tray on my lap.

“Now drink up,” she said.

A voice rose behind Serena and it was christian’s. “Not fair. I don't get morning coffee”

Serena’s eyes snapped to the back with excitement. “Mr. Christian, you are also awake”

She moved over to the table where she had gotten the coffee for me and took his own to him also.

“Please drink up,” she smiled. “Thanks for following my sister here”

“And thank you for the other day, you really saved us”

Christian smiled and I couldn't help but stare at his lips because his smile was so damn beautiful. If only he’d do this often.

We took the coffee sip by zip slowly and I stared at Serena and how strong she got in a night.

“You didn't have to come,” she said. “But I really appreciate it, I've been longing to see you”

She moved to me and touched my face. Her hands were so damn cold and I regret not bringing her some clothes to keep her warm.

I didn't know it was this cold in the countryside.

“Hold me all you want” I chuckled. “You are also allowed to shower me with kisses”

She giggled and kissed my forehead, showering my entire face with kisses.

I held the mug tighter as I smiled, not wanting to spill the coffee on her.

Then I remembered something. The reason she got up this quick.

“Wait! Work” I said.

Before Serena could lean away from me, Christian spoke.

“You don't need to go if you think we can't make it. If you want to spend more time with her, then you can stay” he said.

He's sounding more like a CEO at the moment. I knew he'd handle his staff, but no. I wanted to prove myself and I had only started doing so.

“No” I gently got Serena's hands off me. “I'll go”

I turned to Serena. “What’s the time?”

She smirked. “I made sure to get up early so you can make it.”

“It should be sometime around 4am” she said.

I calculated the time. 4am.

The ride will take six hours and that'd be 10am. I should be able to get back to work as early as 11am.

I smiled at Serena. “I'm sorry, I have to go now” my face turned down in disappointment.

Serena chuckled. “No, I'm really happy you came”

“Maybe I should get sick often so you can make trips here” she laughed.

“You wouldn't dare” my gaze darkened. “I'll make sure to make trips here and visit whenever I can”

“Is that a promise?” She asked, her voice so cheerful.

Yes, this is the sister I know. The one who'd always smile like she didn't have a single problem in the entire world.

A knock came on the door and Serena went to get it. She opened the door and Delila entered.

She didn't look too surprised to see Serena standing, but there was still the hint of surprise on her face.

“You got up faster than I had thought,” she said. “I knew it'd be possible with your sister here”

I took another sip of the coffee and dropped the mug right on the nightstand beside the bed.

I stood up from the stool and faced Delila.

“Thanks for the hospitality” I smiled. “And thanks for taking care of my sister”

“You are leaving now?” She asked after she nodded to the words of thanks I had said to her.

“Yes. We have work to attend to”

“I'll see them off,” Delila said. “you still need to get some rest, Serena”

Serena didn't argue and I could tell she was very obedient to the woman.

She hugged me and I hugged her back more tightly.

“Stay safe here and be fine” I was starting to get emotional. “I'll get you back to the city when I can”

I didn't know when that would be because our parents were still bent on looking for her and making her marry the people of their choices.

We broke the hug and I walked out without looking back. I was going to see her again.

Now that I know where this is, I could decide to come anytime I'd like.

Delila escorted us to where the car was. “Thank you once again” I thanked her when I turned, after holding the car door open.

“It's my pleasure.” She said, “I'll give the both of them the best care I can give”

She turned her gaze to Christian. “I can tell you don't talk much,” she smiled.

“Goodbye” she bowed slightly to Christian and that made Christian also bow slightly back to her.

We got into the car and he drove away.

Seven hours was what it took for the drive to end.

Christian drove us back into the mansion and I spent little time taking my bath and changing my dress.

Afterwards, I headed back downstairs.

I thought Christian would be so tired and wouldn't want to go to work. He's the CEO afterall.

“I’ll drive you,” Christian said.

“No, I think you should stay home. You must be exhausted” I quickly replied.

“It's my body. I know if I'm tired and if I'm not” he said and I took that as a cue not to argue.

He did like he said and drove me to work, the drive starting and ending with silence.

When we walked into the company, I walked to my department.

Everywhere was tense as Elish was standing in front of my team with her hands crossed, a smirk on her lips.

She said, “We should discard this team since your leader is so useless”
