Chapter 49 Chapter 49: Burned Letters
Chapter 49: Burned Letters
Vishiea’s POV
The party was great. Cassie and Liliane also danced with men while Nathan and I were just simply hanging out together.
“Anastasia?” Someone from behind is talking. I turned to look who it was and I was surprised.
“Aunt Kennedy?” I got excited and hugged her tight. I wasn't expecting her to be here. She's my mother's cousin, Kiara's cousin.
She always visited us in our house and we had a great bond together. Among Mother Kiara's cousins, Aunt Kennedy is my favorite.
She hugged me back. She's with a man I haven't met before.
“Auntie, you're here. Why didn't you inform me?” I told her, she chuckled. She's younger than Mother Kiara.
“Well, my mate invited me, that's why I came here and I wasn't wrong. You're actually here,” she said as we separated our hugs. I was shocked to find out that she found her mate after those years.
“I’m so happy for you Auntie.” I told her and gave her a quick hug.
“Anastasia, this is Mark. And Mark, this is Anastasia, Kiara's daughter.” She introduced us to each other. I smiled at him and waved my hand.
“It's nice meeting you, Mark,” I smiled as we shook hands.
“Wait, who is that guy?” Aunt Kennedy pointed at Nathan. Nathan stood up and smiled at them.
“He's Knight Nathan. He's accompanying me to tonight’s event,” I told Auntie, however she showed me a teasing smile. She even faked a cough.
“It's nice meeting you, Knight Nathan. Have you two been dating?” She asked. I immediately stopped her from talking. Auntie is something you can't escape with. She will keep on talking until you finally tell the truth.
“We are—” Nathan was about to answer but I interfered.
“Auntie, I think Mark wants to dance with you,” I told her. Mark seemed to understand my point and he asked Aunt Kennedy for a dance.
“I’ll be back,” Aunt said before finally leaving the dance floor. I chuckled while watching them.
“Sorry about that. Aunt Kennedy gets silly sometimes,” I said as I sat back. He smiled at me.
While we were talking a guard approached us. Nathan's face changed into a serious mood.
“Knight Nathan, I am here to ask for help. There's an unexpected fight outside the kingdom. We need you,” the guard said. Nathan looked at me like he's asking for approval.
“You can go, besides Cassie and Liliane are with me. Take care,” I told him. He nodded his head and left. After he left I was about to walk out of the grand hall when someone suddenly grabbed me by my hand.
I tried to scream for help when my mouth was covered by a hand.
“It's me.” My blood boiled in an instant when I heard that familiar voice of his.
What the hell is he doing? Is he going to do everything just to talk to me? I don't care if he's the king. That doesn't matter now.
He let go of me and I immediately distanced myself from him.
“What the heck is your problem?!” I can't help but shout at him. This is unacceptable. He just stared at me without saying anything.
Damn him! He can't fool me now. I’m done with his stupid game.
“Just let me apologize and explain about what happened yesterday. Please, Vishiea.” He called me again. Is he really not gonna stop calling me Vishiea? He's starting to frustrate me.
“Listen very carefully! I am not Vishiea. Be ashamed of yourself. I couldn't think that someone like you is the king. A dumb king who can't understand me. I am not her. How many times do I have to tell you that?! You're disrespecting me. I don't care about you, King. You should know your boundaries too and stop meddling with my life!” I can't help but let out my frustrations on him. He was shocked because of what I said. But I don't give a shit.
“You're supposed to get busy on how to provide solutions to different problems your kingdom is facing right now. But instead! You're wasting your time forcing me to admit someone who is not me! Do you get that? You're a disappointment.” I even pointed my finger at him.
“That's because you're Vishiea, I could feel it. I know it was you.” He insisted on it. He messed up his hair in frustration. I shook my head while looking at him.
“I am not her! Stop bothering me, Your Majesty. Stop meddling with my own life!” I told him. I could see in his eyes that he wasn't expecting me to talk to him that way.
“I’m sorry for what I did yesterday, it's just that—” I didn't let him finish his words.
“Save it. I don't need your explanation,” I told him. I was about to leave when he gave me a letter. I only stared at it but he insisted on placing it in my hand.
I scoffed sarcastically. The next thing I did was place it on the candle on fire. I waited until it burned, didn't wait for his response and turned my back and walked out of that place. However, before I could get out of the grand hall, Rachelle stopped me.
“Are you satisfied that the king is now showering you with his attention?” She asked sarcastically, but I could feel the bitterness and anger in her voice.
“Look, I don't care about your opinion. If you don't want the king to talk to me or to other girls then try to tie him on your waist.” I told her. She's about to slap me but I caught her hand on time.
“Don't you dare hurt me, Rachelle. It's not my fault that your king is attracted to me.” I rolled my eyes making her more insecure.
“How dare you talk to me like that?!” She shouted. Luckily no one was here.
“No, how dare you accuse me of getting the king's attention? I don't care about his opinion. I am living with my own life. And if he's actually attracted to my beauty then it's not my problem. It's yours,” I said and turned around.
But before I could walk any closer she held my hand tightly. I looked at her eyes.
“You don't know me, Anastasia. I can kill you right now if I want to.” She threatened me. I laughed and pushed her.
“Then try me.” I told her which made her angry. She's about to attack me when Nathan arrived.
“Lady Anastasia, why are you here?” He asked. When I looked at Rachelle, she already left.
