Chapter 30 My forever type
Ayden’s POV:.
I was running to take John’s, my friend’s life…yes we were friends from the past eight years because of our work. He joined hands with our enemy and now he has to die.
He somehow managed to escape by backstabbing me, literally. He slashed the knife on my back and ran. Well, he did the right thing after running away but he’s going to die anyway.
He was protected by many men and after I was injured, they got a chance to overpower me. They left me thinking I was dead. With a lot of difficulty, I stood up and walked for some time. My vision was getting blurry and I fell on the ground.
And then came a voice, “Don’t close your eyes. Look at me.”
I looked at her and just melted. She was an angel… so beautiful, looking at me with worry filled in her eyes. Maybe I was in heaven.
The naive girl tried to call the ambulance but I stopped her and asked her to call Bryan instead. She called him, shouting on the phone to tell him about my condition.
All of a sudden, she put my head on her lap and caressed my blood covered face gently, trying to keep me awake. She started crying, making me even more confused.
I wiped her tears, asking her the reason.
“I’m scared something might happen to you.” And her reply made me feel weird. This has never happened before. It felt insanely good, those words coming out from her mouth.
“I can’t die this easily.” I replied.
It was the first time in my life that I was scared to die. I wanted to live because I wanted her with me. But I wondered if she was true or just an illusion of mine as my mind was turning hazy.
A teardrop fell into my cheeks and I looked at her. She was real. She was with me…crying for me. We were just strangers and she wasn’t scared of me but worried that something might happen to me.
I smiled at the girl, wiping her tears. She kept on talking about random things to keep me awake. And for an insane reason, I wanted to hear her. Her voice was like a melody to my ears which I wanted to hear for my whole life.
“Why are they not coming!!” She screamed in distress.
And I didn’t want them to come. It was as if I wanted to stop time and stay like that in her lap. It was a heavenly experience.
At last, Bryan came and I had to go. But before that, I realised that I didn’t ask her name.
“What is your name?” I asked.
“Eve.”
And the name of the angel was Eve. Just as beautiful as she was.
I kept on staring at her while she did the same, staring at me back. The tears were still glistening on her cheeks while she was looking at me all worried.
“James, you go there and deal with that girl.” Bryan’s words took me back to reality.
“Don’t… touch her!” I said as loudly as I could. James stopped after hearing my command. He gave me one angry look and then asked the driver to drive.
“Have you completely lost it? Who the fuck told you to roam without our men? You really wanna die!” My all time calm little brother shouted at me but I didn't care.
After we reached our place, they took me inside and a doctor treated my wounds. Bryan was continuously shouting outside and was planning to take down John. But all I could think of was that beautiful girl.
After the dressing of the wound, an agitated Bryan entered the room. He always remains calm even in the most difficult situations but I guess I'm the exception.
"Have you lost the will to live? It's the second time you walked in danger without telling us or taking any protection!!" He roared.
"Hey, don't shout. I'm not dead." I replied coolly.
He was about to hit me but stopped looking at the bandages all over my body. Poor little brother!
"What's with that girl? I don't think you know her from before. Who is she?" He interrogated me.
"Yes, I haven't known her before. Don't trouble her." I answered.
"She could be a problem in the future. We should just kill her." He said with an emotionless face.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!"
"Don't even dare to touch her." I shouted, losing all my cool.
"You like her. That's not new. Just get your work done and then we will deal with her." Bryan said, making me lose even the last bit of my temper.
I got up to hit him right on his face but the IV drip on my hand loosened and blood oozed out from it. He ran towards me and held me for support but I didn’t let him touch me.
"Are you fucking mad? Have you fallen for her? You met her once. What do you want from her then?" Bryan asked me and I stood silent.
"Why are you silent now? You want her in your bed for a few nights and then a new girl, that's it?"
I glared at him which made him stop his nonsense.
"I will marry her." I replied and now it was him who was shocked.
Yes, I met her once but what I felt with her that too in that small time was something I've never experienced before. If she can make me feel like this even by accident, what would happen if she will be with me for my whole life.
She is the one. She is the one for me. And no matter what I'll make her mine.
"Are you serious?" Bryan asked, not believing what he heard.
"Hundred percent. I'm gonna marry Eve. Find her details for me." I said and he left the room.
Eve… I uttered her name so many times and it felt so nice. She was his angel, the thought of her was enough to make me happy.
I want to live for her. I want to see her smile at me. She was crying the whole time I saw her. I knew I've to meet her again and not only for once… I want to make her mine.
And I will make her mine.
"You're my forever type, Eve. Wait till I come for you." I said with a smile. And now I'm even talking to myself!
After that day, I got busy because of my unfinished business with John. Two months later, I saw my angel again. She was with Christine, laughing over some topic.
I was mesmerised seeing her like that. The way I saw her laughing and smiling in my dreams, she was even more alluring than that.
In my dreams we did much more than just look at her, but I couldn't deny the fact how wonderful I feel just by looking at her.
I was going to meet her then and there but Bryan came with bad news about work and I had to leave.
I also followed her secretly and looked at her when she went to her college and left.
But then I finally met her in that eating joint with that friend of hers. She remained silent all the time, making me restless. I was not at all interested in Christine's gossip.
I kept looking at Eve who didn't remember me. I don't like to confess but it felt bad. Somehow, I wanted her to recognise me. But it wasn't her fault.
She saw me when I was fully drenched in blood. Also I had long hair then. I tried to assure myself with these reasons but still when she glanced at me secretly, I wished that she recalled me.
But she didn't.
I was still happy meeting her like that. I waited for so long and now just watching her was more than enough for me.
