I kept my composer as Karson and I entered Emerald Forest pack house. I was thankful Hope had packed me some business suits. “Thank you Luna Ruby. Do you have any pups of your own?” She asks. I nodded at her before I answered. “I do, I have twins, one boy and one girl.” Heather’s smile seemed to fade at the mention of my pups. I take no offense as Karson has already claimed them as his own. I simply responded better to put her at ease. “My mate is quite fond of his pups and heirs of our pack.”
Heather's face does seem to lighten up at that. I really don’t want them to know that my pups are in fact Collins. I looked over to see Karson shake Collin’s hands, Heather and I walked up to both men, not trying to interrupt when I spoke up to Collin, placing my arm around my mate's waist.

“Thank you Luna Ruby, I am. Should we all retire to the conference room and start the meeting?”Collin asks. Karson links me and I can't help but smile

Heather walked up to Collin and he placed his hand on the small of her back, leading us all to the main conference room. Everyone took their seats, Karson and I sat side by side as Collin made his way to the head of the table.
“Hello and thank you for coming. No amount of apologies would fix what he did last night. Alpha Skylar stood up and began to address everyone after Collin’s speech.
“Well, thank you Alpha Collin for that information. On behalf of the council, we want to give our condolences for what you went through last night.” He paused and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.
“Alpha Karson has passed on some wonderful information regarding the Royal Household. Now, as many of you know, the last living King of wolves, King Damen, was executed because he was power hungry. We couldn’t find any heirs because we thought they killed them all off.” Alpha Skylar paused before looking at me, putting me on the spot.
“My friends and fellow council members, last night we were introduced to the last living descendant of King Damen… Princess Ruby Hale of Sunset Crest Pack." The council members started to whisper amongst themselves, some cheered and others sat there in complete shock.
When the meeting ends, I have different people coming from the left and right, wanting to shake hands and give proper introductions. Karson, standing at my side, seems to sense my tension as he alerts the council that we will pick this up another time, as I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed.

“Exactly, like your new title. You will now be known as Alpha, Princess Ruby Hale.” Said Alpha Skylar.
I was trying to take all this in. I’m not sure what I was hoping for. I knew that I would be a Princess, but Alpha?
“We will also need to schedule a day for your coronation, since you inherited your late father's estate and title. You will also receive a new title when that happens.” Alpha Joseph said.
“I just got a new title. You mean I have to have another?” Both men chuckled. It was Karson who spoke next.
“My love, after your coronation, your new title will be Queen and the title of Princess will be passed down to your daughter Anna.”
So many emotions and thoughts were going through my head. I was having a hard time holding on to my reality. I wasn’t sure if this was what I wanted. I only just found out not long ago who I really was, and I would find more out from my mother when I went to see her later.
“Well, anyways, we will let you two head out, Karson. We will be in touch.”Alpha Joseph and Skylar shook our hands and we left.
We walked down my old pathway through the woods that led to my parents' house. A lot of questions kept popping up in my head. Will my mother be mad at me for leaving? Will my dad still give me the cold shoulder? Will my brother still remember me?
All those questions seemed to fade as my childhood home came into view and I saw my mother in the same rocking chair on the front porch. Tears filled my eyes, as I could see my dad and brother training in the backyard. It took my mother a minute before she saw me walking up, the look of relief in her eyes as I began to run into her arms.

“This is Karson, my mate. And we came here for the Alpha fundraiser,” I replied. My brother’s jaw hit the floor at the mention of Karson's name.
“Karson as in Alpha Karson.. Of Sunset Crest.. As in billion dollar Richmond enterprises!” My dad looked at me and back at Karson almost in shock. The mention of Karson's accomplishments seemed to change my dad's attitude a bit, as he cleared his throat and extended his hand.
“Welcome sir, please forgive my rudeness. I’m Rick Hale. This is my mate Rayna Hale and our son Jordan Hale.”
Karson looked at me with tender eyes and back at my father as he took his hand. “It’s nice to meet my mate's family, she talks non stop about you all.”
My father, slightly uncomfortable, chuckles, “good things I hope?”
“Ruby dear, come help me with some refreshments.” My mother gestured me into the house, which is perfect. I can finally get some answers. I walked into my old home, I looked around and noticed not much had changed. The furniture is still in the same area, the hallway still plastered with our family photos and my room.
“No one has been in there. I couldn’t let your father pack anything up.” My mother scared me as I didn’t notice her behind me.
“Speaking of father, I know he isn’t my actual dad.” I turned to look at my mother.
“I knew eventually one day, you would have questions. And I’m sure you already know the answers to your questions.” My mother said in a low voice.
“Why couldn’t you tell me the truth, all those years ago? You knew I was different, and you knew I was…” My words trailed off as my mother finished my sentence.
“Royalty? A Princess? Yes, I knew and I kept that from you to protect you. Every day I would beat myself up. It killed me every time Rick ignored you, or chose to spend time with your brother.” My mother began to cry. Instantly, I hold her, telling her it's OK and that she doesn’t need to worry anymore.
Karson, my dad and my brother all seem to be getting along as they sit in the living room chatting about this and that while I help my mother prepare dinner. “We really should get back to our hotel,” Karson said to me. I look at my mother who nods her head.
My father stepped in, giving me a big hug. “We promise to make time to come visit you all. I look forward to meeting our grandchildren.”
“I’d really love that,” I said with a smile on my face. We left and headed back to our hotel. I looked at Karson and gave his hand a tight squeeze. “Thank you,” I told him.
