Chapter 144 A silent companion
Chapter 144: A Silent Companion
Linda and her boyfriend left, they had somewhere to be. Before leaving, Linda asked Golden if she would be okay by herself and if she needed to call Alex over?
Golden assured her that she was fine and that she would hang around the beach for a while before going home.
Golden went to sit by the beach and listened to the ocean waves. She watched people surf, play beach ball, and just generally have fun.
She sat quietly, cross-legged and wrote on the sand. There was a lot to think about, and a lot of processing to do.
This trip was supposed to be a healing one. She was homesick and felt coming home to Florida, her family, Allan, would help her feel better.
She didn't know when it happened, but her body finally gave way to her emotions and she began to cry.
Not loud, there were no screams, there was no tantrum. Just a heartbroken cry.
She rested her head on her knees and cried silently. She allowed her heart to break silently.
She knew it was necessary to allow herself feel all her emotions. It was necessary to allow her heart break, so that it could begin healing itself.
There was no need for any drama. There was no need to get anyone involved. This was about her and no one else.
The last time she asked Allan what he felt for Lindsay and he dismissed it as unimportant.
It was unimportant, yet he had remained entangled with her to the extent of being intimate with her.
He had never told her he loved her. She only wished he was bold enough to tell her his heart was with someone else.
Maybe going to Northbridge was the best decision after all because he would have still done what he did regardless.
Xander watched Golden from a distance. He didn't know she was in Florida.
He was in the hut next to hers taking a nap. He had heard Linda call Nixon but didn't pay attention to it.
From their conversation, she had caught her boyfriend cheating with another lady.
Xander only realized it was actually Golden when she left her hut to Linda's hut.
He hadn't paid attention to their conversation because he felt it was private. And knowing that it was indeed Golden, he couldn't bring himself to say anything.
He watched her shoulders trembling lightly and figured she was crying. He remained rooted to the spot with a complicated feeling.
Should he approach her or should he let her have her moment? She hadn't informed him she was in town, so should he pretend he didn't know?
It was breaking his heart to see her this vulnerable. He didn't think she would want him to see her in this state, so he stayed away and silently accompanied her.
Although Golden had told Linda not to text Alex, she didn't feel right leaving her like that.
Alex was hot-headed and could march up to Allan and tear him apart. She decided to text Fab instead, he would know what to do.
Linda: “Hey Fab, get to Palms Beach ASAP. Golden caught Allan cheating. Don't tell Alex yet, just go be with her.”
Fab was tickling Leo when his phone beeped. He quickly glanced at the message and dropped his phone.
“Babes do you think you guys can handle Leo too? There's an emergency I need to handle at home.” Fab said, giving Leo an airplane spin.
“Sure. I hope it's nothing serious?” Alex asked as she tried to wrestle Leo from Fab's hand.
“Let me, I think I can connect with him, man-to-man.” Varney said, reaching for Leo.
Fab left soon after and drove to the beach. He seriously thought of killing Allan but had to think of Golden.
He saw her from afar sitting by the water, he head in her knees and he knew immediately that she was crying.
Golden felt someone sit down beside her. She already knew who it was from his perfume.
She immediately launched into his arms and cried. “It really hurts Fab. I feel like my chest is about to explode.”
Holding her close and rubbing her back, Fab tried to soothe Golden. His heart was equally breaking and he didn't know how to take her pain away.
“I know my love. Just let it out.” he said consoling Golden.
He sat and let her cry out her heart for about 15 minutes before asking her what really happened.
Golden narrated everything she had seen and even told him about her conversation with Linda.
Fab was very mad, but for Golden's sake, he kept his emotions in check.
“He is not worth your tears my love. So what do you want to do? Should I get a body bag?”
“That's not necessary. He doesn't even know that I saw him. I think it's time for us to break up.
Thanks to him, no one knew we were dating so there shouldn't be any awkwardness and drama.” Golden said, finally making a decision.
“Can we go shopping? I was going to do it later in the week but now seems like the perfect time to do it.” Golden said, preparing to stand up.
Xander watched Golden and Fab leave the beach. He was glad that Golden at least had someone with her.
Allan had been feeling a certain way. It was an intense moment between him and Lindsay.
And to be honest, he couldn't help himself. Tension had been building up since Trey's party.
He was taking a breather from the party. Lindsay had come into the room to congratulate him on throwing an amazing party.
She gave him a hug, and before he could process things, he found himself kissing her.
In the past, he would have restrained himself, but he had been in denial for far too long.
He finally gave in to his feelings and let go. They were lost in the bubble they had created until they realized that they woukd go all the way if they didn't stop.
