Chapter 143 What she feared
Chapter 143: What She Feared
“Allan...
Room...
Make out...” Golden said, still not making sense, but a bit clearer.
Linda had a bad feeling about what Golden was saying. Some how she hoped it was not what she feared.
“Golden, I need you to calm down and tell me what you saw”
Golden took a deep breath and tried to piece everything she had seen together. “I saw Allan making out with her in his room”, she finally said.
“By her, you mean Lindsay?” Linda asked, not surprised.
Golden looked at Linda shocked. She didn't seem surprised and she hadn't mentioned any names, yet Linda got it right.
What exactly was going on? Did Linda know something? “You knew?” Golden asked, not a question.
“First of all, tell me what you actually saw, and I will tell you what I know.”
“I went to Allan's house to surprise him. It's his siblings' birthday today so I decided to drop by.
I went to his room hoping to surprise him, but I saw him making out with Lindsay.” She paused, trying not to remember what she saw but failing because the image became clearer.
“He was sitting on the bed-bench, she was on his lap. Her shirt was slightly opened and he was sucking her breasts while she was lost in euphoria.” Golden narrated, finally giving way to her emotions.
“Now answer my question. How long have you known?” She asked in tears.
“I'm sorry you had to see that Nixon. You may not believe me, but I'm truly sorry. You shouldn't have seen that.
As for how long I've known about them. Well it's been a few months. I have had my suspicions for a while now.
Initially I thought they were dating and that you were the third wheel. But then, when I spoke to Fab a few months ago, he said you and Allan were dating.
Apparently you guys have been dating for over a year. Then I saw them at the mall and their behavior didn't seem like just ordinary friends to me.
I photographed and videoed them. I was going to send them to you, not out of spite but just to warn you that your man might be involved with another lady.
At the last minute, I decided not to. Alex had warned me not to ever hurt you again. So I deleted everything and called you instead.” Linda paused and looked at Golden. Her eyes were already red.
“Look I'm sorry Golden. I know I haven't always been the best person, but you really don't deserve to be hurt this way.
I tried to warn you, that's why I said you should visit more often so you can cultivate your relationship.
I didn't think that the first time you decided to come home, you would be met by such surprise.”
“Tell me one thing though. Why didn't he come after you?” Linda asked a bit confused. Allan might be a jerk, but she knew he would have definitely run after Golden.
“They were so lost in each other that they didn't even realize I was there. I backed away quietly and left so technically, they don't know I was there.” Golden said, cleaning her tears.
“So what do you intend to do now? Do you intend to call him out on his BS?”
“I'm not sure if I will do that. But one thing I'm certain is that I am choosing me this time.
You want to know something funny Miller? I kept feeling uneasy last night. I had this gut-wrenching feeling that something wasn't right.” She said with sad realization.
“Anyways thank you Linda. Thank you for being here and not adding to my misery. It means a lot that you didn't decide to hurt me with the pictures and videos.
In a way, I'm glad I found out by myself without any external influence. I would have been broken if you had indeed sent me those pictures while I was in England. So thank you.”
“Nixon. You deserve someone who will love you the right way. Someone who isn't ashamed to claim you in public.
You are a really nice lady and I know you will meet a really nice guy someday too.
Cry if you need to, but don't waste your tears and love on someone who is undeserving of it.”
“Thanks a lot Miller. Who would have thought that my former nemesis would one day console me while I'm going through a heartbreak?” Golden said with a sad smile.
“Hey I get it, I was a bitch. But I'm still human you know.” Linda said as she slightly nudged Golden with her shoulder.
“Would you like to join me in my hut? I would like to introduce you to my boyfriend.
We can hang out together until you are much better and ready to go home.” Linda offered.
“I really wouldn't mind that. I honestly don't want to be alone right now.”
Golden joined Linda in her hut. She introduced her boyfriend who was an architect and who was clearly smitten with Linda.
They chatted for a while and Linda ordered a drink for Golden with some wings.
Linda's boyfriend Steve asked how long they had been friends and Golden and Linda looked at each other and laughed.
Linda then told Steve about their history and all the nasty things she had done in the past.
He was amazed and didn't believe that the lady he adored so much could do the things she said she did.
It felt like she was talking about someone else. Linda owned up to her past. Most of the things she did was because she was insecure.
Her parents were going through a nasty divorce and it affected her for a long time. All she did was vent on Golden whom she felt had the perfect life.
Golden finally understood Linda and didn't judge her. Linda saw a perfect life, but she was unaware of the demons Golden fought for years.
For a moment, Golden forgot about her worries temporarily and listened to Linda recount how she met her boyfriend.
It felt good to be around genuine love. Because she wasn't lucky with love, didn't mean she had to despise those that were truly in love.
Like Linda said, she deserved someone who will love her the right way. What she wasn't sure was if she would ever open her heart again to love.
