Chapter 87
"Are you okay? Are you still calm?" Xavier asked as he looked straight ahead down the hallway. Lyca is still in Xavier's arms, and he has no plans to let her go.
Lyca did it. "Sorry, I lost my temper again... Now, I'm sure the priestess was mad at me for saying that their prophecy was wrong. What should we do?"
Xavier smiled and gave Lyca a quick look. "Why did you start to worry about what that opponent would do? You have nothing to worry about as long as you have me..."
"Lyca! Wait!"
When he heard a call from behind, Xavier stopped walking.
"Don't pick me up..." Lyca said, and she gave Xavier a soft smile.
They all waited together for Madison and Lyca's grandmother to arrive.
"You're very smart to put yourself in front of your enemy. "Don't you worry about what they can do to you?"
Lyca looked at her grandmother with her head up. "I'm sorry, but I'm not going to believe this! Xavier and I don't know what your deal is, so why should we suffer?"
"A prophecy is a prophecy, and a little girl like you can't do anything about it or question it... Still, that doesn't mean you can't do anything about it... We are born free, after all—"
Lyca couldn't help but stare at her grandmother, but she didn't want to say it. But the old person standing in front of her looked like her mother. "My mother told me that she left this place because she wanted to live a free life... So, as her child, I'll do what she did and won't be tied to this place..."
"You naive little girl... Do you think your mom can leave without my permission? She didn't have trouble because of me, of course!" After this, Lyca's grandmother got up and left. "Come with me, both of you—"
Lyca and Xavier didn't move for a moment, so Madison patted them on the back. "Your grandmother can help you, so let's go..."
Before getting to a simple house, Lyca, Xavier, Madison, and her grandmother went into a garden.
"This is the house your grandmother lived in... She didn't like how busy and empty the place was, so she stays here after class. Madison said this as she opened the door.
"It looks like our house in Enchanted Forest..." Lyca said something to Xavier and smiled.
"So, you're the scary thing in that forest? Ha Ha Ha! People these days don't know what to believe or what not to believe."
"It's also good to be afraid... You can't just make a choice because you're afraid. "You'll have to worry about the results," Lyca told her grandmother in response to what she had said.
Her grandmother, who was holding a book, turned to look at her. "...and I'm sure you're not afraid now that you've lost your heart—"
"Mom, stop making fun of your granddaughter. She is not to blame. If Arianna hadn't sealed Lyca's power away, she wouldn't be in this situation. "Oh, my poor niece! You go through a lot." Madison's answer was full of emotion. She still isn't happy, so she hugs Lyca and pulls her toward her grandmother.
"Huh! You also do the stupid things your twin does. You know what's going on, but you ignore her and keep going on your trip!"
Madison's smile said she was sorry. "Mom, stop saying that! Lyca can hear you, and it could lead to a mix-up..."
As Lyca's grandmother walked into the living room, she took Madison's hand off of her shoulder.
"What do you think we should do?" Lyca turned to face her grandmother and asked.
"We'll take your seal off... To make it through the test you'll face in the next few days..."
"Wait, is that all right? Isn't it dangerous?" Xavier, who was next to Lyca at the time, asked. As he holds Lyca's hand, you can see the worry in his eyes.
"Removing the seal is not dangerous, not if Lyca can use the power she had... Arianna has kept her magic hidden since she was a child, so we don't know what her powers are.
"Mom, stop being silly... Madison shot back, "Our little Lyca can handle what little power she had."
Lyca's grandmother can't believe what she sees in Madison. "—Then let's begin... Let's see if the person in our clan who hasn't been trained has the least power."
At the same time, Xavier held Lyca close and whispered. "—Stop what you're doing if you think you're going to get into trouble... okay?"
"Don't worry, Aunt Madison says it's safe... " Lyca gives Xavier a smile to let him know that everything is fine and that she is not worried or scared.
Lyca is in the middle of a pentagon, and Madison and Grandma are holding hands next to her.
"Don't let go of our hands no matter what," says grandma in a serious tone.
"And don't listen to anything you see or hear... Just keep your thoughts on one thing..." Madison gave an explanation as she held Lyca's hand tightly.
They all shut their eyes at the same time that Lyca's grandmother said something that Lyca had just heard. Then, the pentagon around Lyca started to light up quickly.
"What's going on..." Xavier said, clenching his fists in fear because the light was all around Lyca. His worries are made worse by seeing Lyca frown and cry.
But no one answered Xavier because the three of them were busy in the other world.
"Where are we, Aunt Madison?" When Lyca saw that they were still standing but in a different place, he asked.
Madison looked at the big tree behind Lyca and said, "This is your center. This is where your power is sealed."
"Do you think our little Lyca can handle this?" Grandma said this with worry and amazement at the same time.
Lyca frowned and turned around to face the two people who were looking at her back. Then she saw the big tree with the thick leaves. "Is there something wrong? What happened? What kind of tree is it?"
"Those three things show how powerful you are," Madison said while swallowing saliva.
"Do you think you'll be okay?" Grandma asked as she gave Lyca a hard look.
"I don't get it, but I think I can handle it..." Lyca answered in a sure way.
Grandma said, "Then let's start," and she walked toward the big tree.
When Madison and Lyca see their grandmother holding the tree, they do the same. As grandma started another spell, their hands lit up.
Lyca felt something warm in her chest for a few seconds. She doesn't know what it is, but she likes the way it feels... But the good feeling didn't last long because just a few seconds later, she felt a strong thump in her chest.
"Ah! Uncle James! Grandma! Something in me was on fire!" As Lyca kneels, she screams in fear.
"Lyca, you have to take it... "The seal has been broken, and the power you feel now is yours," grandma said. She says a calming spell to make Lyca feel better.
"Oh, I can't take this anymore!" Lyca screamed and dug her claws into her chest. When she first shifted, the pain she felt was worse than the pain she feels now. She doesn't know why, but Lyca's blood is boiling and burning in every vein in her body.
Lyca heard a voice whisper suddenly. "You're right! Don't try! You don't have to go through it! You should be having fun with your lover right now!"
Lyca thought for a moment after she heard this. She should listen to the voice in her head. She doesn't need to go through hard times!
"Quit it! I don't want to be in charge! I don't want to feel like this!" Lyca roar and wave their arms.
"However, she thought of Xavier. Then she remembered why she had to face the problems... So she thinks of the reason... Lyca liked Xavier Nightingale and wanted to be with him.
"Lyca be patient! I told you not to take anyone's advice! Just think about why you want to do this!" Grandma said, "I say," and then she pointed to Madison. The second got what her mother wanted right away. So she began to say a spell to clear Lyca's mind...
Xavier is worried as he watches Lyca suffer. But he can't do anything because he was told before to stay out of the way no matter what.
"C'mon!" Don't scare me like this, Lyca. I know you can do it, so don't get hurt and come back safe!" Xavier replied by clenching his fists so he wouldn't move toward Lyca.
A few minutes of agony for Xavier... It stopped only when the light around Lyca slowly went away.
Madison is the first one to come back.
"Hey! What goes on? Tell me! How's Lyca? Is she okay?" Xavier kept asking questions.
"Oh God! Before you ask me, please give me some water." Madison replied as she struggled for air.
Even though he didn't want to, Xavier did what he was told. He got water from the kitchen and gave it to Madison right away. "Tell me why Lyca hasn't woken up yet."
Madison gave a head shake. "Lyca power is even stronger than we thought... So, all we can do right now is pray and wait..."
