Chapter Seventy-Three – Live
Brielle finally pulled her eyes from Dominic's and sat besides Jake, "Sorry about that. Case Closed is a difficult person."
She noticed Suzy was still in there and frowned. The girl left before she would be told to.
"So, you all will be living with me from now onwards?"
"Yes!" the twins chorused.
Brielle hesitated. She didn't plan to live with him, because she knew he wouldn't want her, only the kids. And she didn't want to be away from her kids.
But she couldn't deny her kids the pleasure of living with their father after many years, so she stayed quiet.
"You are coming too, right?"
Brielle looked up. Did he mean her? "Um… no, you don't need to…" What was she saying?
She kept her eyes on his that were also on her. What was he thinking? Did he only ask her for formality? Or he really wouldn't mind if she stayed around?
"Aww, mommy! Come and stay with us." Dorian wailed, pulling at her dress. "Let's stay together as one family!"
Brielle chuckled nervously, trying to pull his hand away. Lucian seemed disappointed while Jake looked slightly worried. They really didn't understand that it wasn't her decision to make.
"Well, it'd be hard to perform fatherly duties while being a CEO. I'd just have to manage all at once." Dominic said.
Dorian groaned, leaving his mother. "Oh, I hope uncle Bethany wouldn't cook again." His words made Lucian and Jake laugh.
Brielle wanted to raise question on which Bethany they spoke about, but her tongue tied noticing Dominic's gaze was still in her.
"Where will you stay then, Brielle? In your condominium?" her ex-husband asked again. "Is it that safe there…"
"If you want me to stay with you, then I will." Brielle blurted out. She didn't want to be kept on a spot anymore.
Her boys looked at her questioningly. "He said you can."
It must have sounded that way to them but it definitely didn't to her. Not with the chances that he has something going on with Selene.
He might not want her close after the divorce, also he had grown deep hatred for some reason she couldn't process.
She picked up courage to look up to see his facial expression. And they were amused? Brielle cleared her throat again. "If he said I can stay, then I will. It's fine."
"Really? Yayy!" Dorian hugged his mother and she hugged him back. Lucian ran to her too.
Dominic was truly amused by the woman before him. Did she think he'd separate her from her kids? He wasn't that heartless to do the same thing she did to him, to her.
And if she wasn't working with her father, then there was no reason why he couldn't invite her in. She was no longer his wife, but she was still the mother to his children.
His phone beeped, indicating that a message came in. "I'm dropping by. Remember your receptionist's details."
It was Silas and his trouble retuning to him. Dominic rubbed his temples, sighing. There was definitely no escape for him. "I'd be back. I'm expecting a friend."
"Huh? Can't we see them too?" Dorian glued to his trousers. Dominic subtly tried to shake him off. "Erm… not quite. I mean, you can meet him later. Just not now."
"Really? You'd bring us to him?" Lucian asked with raised brows. "Or is that just a promise that'd never happen."
Dominic sighed. Why can't that one be gullible? He remembered their conversation. "Ah, who watched the news today? The presenter is who I'm seeing."
They all sprang up, even Brielle, except Jake.
"Silas Philip, right?" Lucian asked. "He was talking about you on TV. Are you two really friends?"
"Best friends. He was here yesterday and took Lucas to a cinema. He'd be travelling soon, so they're few things we need to talk about." Dominic said, leaving the room.
"Can't we just say hi fist?" Brielle asked.
Could she not make it worse? "Definitely next time." Dominic replied, trying to pull Dorian off his leg before the door hit him, as it tried to open.
"Oh my! Sorry."
Hearing the voice, Dominic knew it was Silas. He already arrived? He left Dorian but hesitated to open the door.
"It's Lucas there? I got him something. I heard you're in here. And a really pretty lady was in your office. Is she a worker of yours? Why are they always pretty though!"
Dominic rested on the door, hoping and waiting for him to shut up but it felt endless. He finally opened the door and glared at him. "You should've stuck with radio presenting."
His talking skills were beyond superb and he would've continued his father's legacy, he even had a certificate for it. Silas peeked in and saw the boys. "Hmm, I don't know."
Doesn't know what? Dominic let him come in, then he sat down back. Dorian sticking to him like a glue again.
"Oh, Brielle." Silas said with low enthusiasm. "And your boys!" he shouted, going to Lucian and Jake. "I remember this one, a crybaby." he pointed Jake, who blushed.
Dorian finally unstuck from his father and went to him.
"Ah, twin, right? I see it, I see it." Silas patted Lucian and Dorian at the same time. "You all can call me Uncle Silas."
"We have a lot of Uncles." Lucian snickered.
"No, no, I'm the original one." Silas frowned slightly.
"We'd call you number one uncle." Dorian smiled. Silas nodded in agreement. "That's right. Number one uncle."
As they laughed, Brielle calmly sat down. Her excitement was all for naught if Dominic's friend had dislike for her. She didn't blame him. She had abandoned his friend.
Leaving the boys, Silas turned to their mother. "Did something happen? Why are you here?"
The boys noticed people have been asking their mother that question a lot that day. "Mommy and us are living with daddy from now onwards. We left grandfather."
Silas turned to Dorian. "Really?" he glanced at Dominic who gave a subtle nod. Silas exhaled.
So his best friend was letting her back to his life? He was bound to fall in love with her again. "Well then, good luck."
