Chapter 26

The doctor returned with the test results it was positive, Xavier was really upset he left the hospital immediately.

Kayla didn't know what to do, there was no way she could reach Bryan as he was the father of her baby, she thought of calling Jake but remembered that he wasn't in town, so she decided to call Daisy.

After two rings, Daisy finally answered the call.

"Sis…" Kayla started.

"Yes Kayla" Daisy answered.

"I'm in such a difficult position I don't know what to do" Kayla cried out.

"What's going on Kayla?" What's the matter?" Where are you?" Daisy asked.

"Modern hospital" Kayla answered.

"I will be there in thirty minutes," Daisy said and ended the call.

"Alright"

Daisy immediately dropped her phone and walked into her boss's office.

"Sorry to disturb you sir" she started.

"What's the matter, Daisy?" Noah asked.

"Please I need to leave the office, my sister just called me and it's an emergency" Daisy pleaded.

"Alright" you can go meet your sister, let me know if something comes up," Noah said.

"Thank you so much boss" Daisy thanked Noah and dashed out of the office.

Daisy stopped a cab and directed the

cab to the hospital where Kayla was and she rushed into the hospital, When she got to the reception she asked the nurses about Kayla's ward, and after she completed the formalities she was directed to Kayla's ward.

Getting there immediately Daisy opened the door she saw Kayla crying, she rushed to her and hugged her.

"Sis, what is the problem? Why are you crying? What's wrong, tell me?" Daisy asked as she tried to comfort Kayla.

"Xavier brought me here..and I don't..I'm pregnant sister, What do I know?" Kayla said, crying.

Daisy was shocked by this statement, " isn't that a good thing? Where is Xavier? Isn't he supposed to be here with you?" Daisy asked.

"The baby is not for Xavier," Kayla said as she cried out.

"What...do you mean by that," Daisy asked surprised.

Kayla then narrated her whole experience of how Tristan embarrassed and insulted her when she went to ask for the money he took from her.

And how she got into an accident and Bryan saved her, took her to the hospital, and paid for the bills then she went back to his house things just happened.

"What do you mean things just happened?" Daisy asked.

"We got intimate Daisy, I don't know. It felt like the right thing to do after he helped me with money and the bills" Kayla explained.

"Kayla…and what happened after that?" Daisy asked

Kayla then explains to Daisy what happened afterward, the encounter with Erica, and how she left the car abruptly.

"And the only thing you know about this man is his name? Nothing else" Daisy asked.

"Nothing. I just...I don't know what to do Daisy" Kayla cried,

"Shh..it will be alright," Daisy said as she comforted Kayla.

It took some time for Kayla to calm down and put herself together, Daisy reassured her that everything would be alright.

Daisy got food for Kayla to eat after which Kayla slept off.

Towards the night, the doctor came in to discharge Kayla and also give her some drugs.

Daisy told Kayla to stay in their place but Kayla felt it was better to go back to Xavier's place and explain things to him.

Daisy booked a cab for Kayla and helped her into. Then she took another one to the hospital.

Daisy got to the hospital and she was exhausted.

Daisy tried to reach Jake but she couldn't. When she got to the room she met Doctor Evans checking up on their father.

"Welcome Daisy" He greeted with a warm smile on his face, apparently he had just finished writing his daily report.

"Evening Doc, how is my father's condition?" Daisy asked as she dropped down her bag.

"He stable at the moment and there are some signs that he may regain consciousness very soon" Doctor Evans explained to Daisy,

"I'm so happy to hear this doc," Daisy said as she sighed. With the whole thing that had happened today, this was sort of a relief to her.

Doctor Evans stared at Daisy as she was smiling holding her father's hand with a smile on her face.

"You look exhausted Daisy, and hungry too" Doctor Evans stated.

"Yes I have a long day today" Daisy replied.

" Would you mind grabbing a bite with me across the hospital? That way you could relax a bit" Doctor Evans offered.

Daisy thought about it for a while and she agreed to go with Doctor Evans; they both left the hospital and went to the cafe Doctor Evans suggested.

Kayla got home that night and she met Xavier on the couch, there was a bottle of whiskey beside him.

Broken Glasses were all over the place, the ever-organized space was scattered, and Some of the art pieces that decorated the space were broken as well.

Xavier just lay there staring at nothing, Kayla dropped her bags and began to clean the whole place, she started with glasses after that she picked up everything and arranged it.

Kayla sat on the couch opposite where Xavier sat.

"Xavier..I need you to believe me, I..had no idea that I was pregnant" Kayla stated.

Kayla was met with silence, as Xavier refused to respond to her, he was wide awake but wasn't saying anything.

"My father was admitted to the hospital and the doctors wouldn't continue his treatment if I didn't clear the previous bill, so I decided to reach out to my ex to get the money from him cause he owed me some money" Kayla explained.

She stopped for a while to observe Xavier's reaction and although he wasn't saying anything his body reaction showed he was listening.

"But he wouldn't pay me back the money and he humiliated me, on my way back to the hospital I was met with an accident and a man saved me, he took me to the hospital and gave me some money.." Kayla paused at this point.

Xavier looked at her for the first time since she entered the house,

"And what happened after then?" He asked.
