Chapter 596 Don't Hype

Chapter 596 Don't Hype

Emily had just wrapped up her workday and was heading out when she noticed a swarm of reporters.

Cameras and microphones filled the entire plaza of the Watson Group.

Curtis was busy organizing the security guards to form a perimeter, while bodyguards surrounded Emily in a protective circle.

The group moved forward slowly.

Nick handed Emily a pair of sunglasses.

Emily put them on just in time before the flashbulbs started going off.

Before they could all get into the car, fifteen Cullinans lined up and drove over.

The pink convertible Rolls-Royce had been swapped out for a Phantom with a roof.

Emily initially wanted to head straight to her own car, but remembering her grandfather's advice about the media being the best publicity tool, she decided to seize the moment.

So, she led her entourage directly towards Jett.

Nick burst into the room, his steps hurried and heavy, his hair slightly disheveled, and his expression grave, with furrowed brows hiding endless worries.

He took a deep breath to steady himself and said, "Ms. Watson, I've looked into the car accident involving the Gray Family. The people responsible did come from Lumina."

"We had to dig deep; their identities were well-hidden. They even passed through three countries before entering Mosterwania."

"Even though they had tourist visas, they rented a car in Maple Valley as soon as they arrived, which isn't typical tourist behavior."

"The key point is that the three men had very little luggage. After the incident, two of them died immediately, and now the Lumina embassy is trying to take the remaining one back to Lumina. It's highly suspicious."

Nick's voice trembled slightly, still shaken by the investigation results.

Nick wasn't naive; anything Emily could guess, Nick could also infer, especially since they had narrowly escaped from Lumina not long ago.

So now, whenever Nick mentioned Lumina, his tone was filled with displeasure.

Nick paused briefly, looking up at Emily with a questioning gaze, and asked, "Do we need to dig deeper?"

Nick was actually quite worried about Emily and Elizabeth confronting each other directly, given that Elizabeth's family controlled about a third of Lumina's wealth.

Even though the Watson Group was now firmly the top family in Mosterwania, their foundation was still lacking.

Emily sat quietly, her face calm but her eyes cold. She waved her hand lightly and said, "No need."

In fact, when Nick mentioned "Lumina entry," Emily's mind was already clear, confirming her previous suspicions.

Emily's thoughts scattered; Elizabeth was determined to kill Susan.

Susan was merely engaged to Vincent, yet Elizabeth and Allan had traveled thousands of miles to kill her.

Five people, two dead, two disabled, one in a vegetative state! What kind of deep-seated hatred could drive such actions?

Emily could hardly imagine the bloody scene, deeply shocked. No wonder Paul had repeatedly told her that Elizabeth had a lunatic by her side, which Emily hadn't fully understood at the time.

Now it seemed that Elizabeth was the most vicious lunatic lurking in the shadows, Emily thought, her eyes growing colder.

Recalling her grandfather's words, Emily's body trembled slightly, still feeling a lingering fear. "If they really knew about my relationship with Vincent, what lengths would they go to harm the Watson Family? My own life doesn't matter, but I have my mom, Tina, Craig, and my grandfather."

The faces of her loved ones flashed through her mind, and the more Emily thought, the more frightened she became, the fear like a cold snake tightly wrapping around her heart.

Emily took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She knew she had to stay composed. She looked up at Nick, her voice slightly tired, and said, "You can go now."

Nick responded with a "Yes, Ms. Watson." He bowed slightly, then turned and left the room, gently closing the door behind him.

At the Watson Group's film and television base.

Ethan was sitting in a room, looking at the schedule for the next day's program.

His brows furrowed gradually, his eyes showing dissatisfaction and worry.

He suddenly stood up, his tall figure appearing somewhat lonely under the light. He strode to the door of the adjacent room where the director and production team were, raised his hand, and knocked forcefully.

When the door opened, Ethan stood at the entrance with a serious expression, his gaze fixed on the director, questioning, "Why did you pair me with Amy? When I agreed to join the show, I said I'd only participate as a mystery guest once."

"If you tie me to her, and she's a regular guest, if I can't record the second episode, won't there be rumors that could harm her?"

"I don't want the show's arrangements to affect anyone, and I definitely don't want to get caught up in unnecessary public opinion."

The director's face showed a hint of awkwardness, and he quickly explained, "Mr. Grant, it's not what you think. Our show rotates guests every episode; this is just a random grouping, not an intentional pairing of you and Amy."

The director's voice trembled slightly, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He wiped the sweat with his hand and continued, "But you know, as a new show, we need traffic. Without topics and viewers, no one will watch."

"You joined the show to express your feelings to your goddess, right?"

The director's eyes showed a hint of cunning as he leaned forward slightly and continued, "Think about it, if the show doesn't gain popularity, your goddess might not see it. Your participation would be in vain. We're considering both the show's effect and your initial intention."

Ethan hesitated slightly, his eyes showing a struggle. He gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, but don't hype up any couple rumors between me and Amy. We've broken up, and if you do, it will cause a lot of trouble for my upcoming TV confession."

"If you can't promise me that, I'll quit the show now. I don't want my feelings to be exploited, and I don't want to hurt anyone."
