Chapter 597 The Lawson Group's Glory
Chapter 597 The Lawson Group's Glory
The director quickly said, "Hey, Mr. Grant, don't sweat it. We'll take care of this. But you know, you and Amy were a thing before, and we can't control what the fans think. Since you never really confirmed or denied your breakup with Amy, some fans might still speculate. We'll try to avoid any deliberate hype, but please understand our position."
Ethan replied, "It's cool, just don't feed into the fans' stereotypes." He didn't notice the exchanged glances between the assistant directors and turned to leave the room, his figure looking somewhat desolate.
In a suite in another building, Amy was sitting on a plush sofa, holding her phone, her face beaming with excitement. She had just seen the director's notice and was overjoyed.
She excitedly said to Leah beside her, "Leah, look! The director really put me and Ethan in the same group. That means we'll have over 20 days together, playing games and everything!"
"Do you think he might fall for me again?" Amy's eyes sparkled with anticipation, her hands clasped tightly together as if she could already see the beautiful picture of her and Ethan getting back together.
Leah, seeing Amy's joy, quietly put down her bag of chips, licked her fingers, and nodded, "Of course, Ms. Wright. You're so beautiful and perfect; it's hard for any man not to like you. Mr. Grant loved you deeply before, and it's just that you two have been apart for a while. Spend more time together, and who knows, it might work out."
Leah's voice had a hint of flattery, but her eyes showed a trace of helplessness.
Evelyn, sitting by the window with her legs crossed, propped her head on her hand and looked at the still-dreaming Amy. She shook her head gently and said, "Honestly, can't you find another guy to like? You're almost 30 and still so naive."
Evelyn's tone carried a mix of sarcasm and frustration. She sat up straight and continued, "Last time, your fans defended you online, but there are still many people, including your haters, spreading news about you. You need to wake up and stop living in your fantasies."
"Amy, I hope you can use some strategy to win Ethan over, rather than just hoping he'll come back to you." Evelyn's eyes sharpened as she stared at Amy, as if trying to force her thoughts into Amy's mind.
"I checked your schedule for the next day. There's a night when you two will stay in a cabin together. I think you can use that to your advantage." Evelyn's lips curled into a calculating smile.
"As far as I know, Ethan is a very responsible person. If the TV station or fans catch you two staying in the same room, he might feel compelled to marry you." Evelyn's voice had a hint of temptation as she looked at Amy, waiting for her reaction.
Amy's face showed a hint of worry. She bit her lip and said, "But if I do that, won't Ethan think I'm manipulative and stop loving me?"
Evelyn pursed her lips and thought to herself, 'He never loved you; you just don't know it.'
"By the way, did you get the hymen repair surgery I suggested when you went to Lumina for your cosmetic procedures?" Evelyn's eyes turned cold as she looked at Amy, as if she were a tool without feelings.
Amy's face turned bright red. She lowered her head and nodded slightly.
Evelyn nodded at Amy, tapping her finger on the windowsill, "Good. Make sure you seize this opportunity and don't miss it."
Amy stood up and looked out the window at Ethan, who was smoking on the lawn. Determination flashed in her eyes.
She took a deep breath, making up her mind, ready to fight for her love.
After finishing his cigarette, Ethan returned to his room, sat at his desk, and picked up a pen to write a long love letter.
His eyes were filled with deep affection and focus. Each word seemed to pour out his heartfelt love for Emily.
He wrote slowly and carefully, as if putting his entire heart into the letter.
After finishing, he memorized it thoroughly, planning to read it during his self-introduction the next day, in front of the entire nation.
His eyes showed determination and persistence. He believed his sincere feelings would touch Emily.
Meanwhile, Jett followed Oscar to the Lawson Family vault.
Oscar held an ancient key that glinted mysteriously in the sunlight. He solemnly said to Jett, "This key was supposed to be given to you after you had children."
Oscar's voice was deep and raspy, carrying the weight of years and family duty. "But if Emily agrees to marry you, I'll give it to you now."
He looked at Jett with eyes full of expectation and trust. "Jett, this key is something every Lawson Family heir must guard. It represents our past and our future. Understand its significance and your responsibility."
Jett nodded. He had heard rumors about the Lawson Group vault since he was young. He had always been curious and eager to see the secrets and treasures it held.
Under Oscar's watchful gaze, Jett slowly pushed open the dusty door. The hinges creaked, telling tales of time.
Inside, Jett stood frozen, eyes wide with shock. He had expected gold and jewels, but the first thing he saw were hundreds of plaques with the names of ancestors.
"Our family has a 1300-year history, dating back to four dynasties ago." Oscar's voice was filled with pride as he continued, "Our family members have held high positions, from cabinet ministers to governors."
