Chapter 595 Plan
Chapter 595 Plan
Sure enough, as soon as Nick stepped out the door, he bumped right into Curtis.
Curtis took one look at Nick's messy appearance and rolled his eyes dramatically. Then he pushed the door open and walked into the office.
"What's up?" Emily asked, pausing her pen over the documents she was reviewing and looking up calmly at Curtis.
Curtis stepped forward and neatly placed a stack of papers in front of her. "Mr. Grant's gonna be on a reality show under the Watson Group's entertainment division."
"Why him?" Emily frowned, confusion flashing in her eyes. She couldn't understand why Ethan would suddenly get involved in the company's project.
"Mr. Grant's media and entertainment company is collaborating with us. The variety shows we're airing and the two movies scheduled for release this year feature a lot of talent sourced from Mr. Grant," Curtis explained, showing his thorough understanding of the company's business.
"Let him be. As long as he's happy," Emily said lightly, her eyes revealing a sense of openness and relief.
"Ms. Watson, aren't you worried Mr. Grant might bring up topics related to you on TV?" Curtis asked with some concern. Given the complicated history between Ethan and Emily, he feared it might negatively impact the company.
"No worries. Jett and I are getting married. Whatever he does now can't hurt me," Emily replied with a confident smile.
"Alright," Curtis nodded and continued his report. "Additionally, since the live streaming app launched in partnership with the Lawson Group's mobile devices, downloads have reached 210 million."
"Great. What's the Morgan Family's response?" Emily asked, always keeping an eye on her competitors.
"Erik and his team have launched a competing live streaming platform, aggressively targeting the market," Curtis reported truthfully.
"No problem. Let them be," Emily said firmly, her tone decisive. She believed her team had the strength to handle the competition.
"Understood, Ms. Watson," Curtis replied, turning to leave the office and gently closing the door behind him, leaving Emily alone at her desk, lost in brief contemplation.
While everyone was still speculating, the Watson Group's internal website quickly posted an announcement: #The Watson Group is Set to Merge with The Lawson Group.#
This news was explosive!
Soon, the forums were buzzing, and the news spread across major websites like wildfire.
Only three people were unaware.
At a Watson Group filming studio on a mountain, a highly anticipated extreme survival challenge show was about to begin.
The scene was bustling with activity. The assistant director, holding a walkie-talkie in one hand and a basket in the other, hurriedly approached the group.
"Welcome everyone to our extreme survival challenge show. Please place your phones in the basket to prevent seeking outside help or cheating. This applies to all participants equally," He shouted.
Ethan hesitated briefly but eventually took out his phone and placed it in the basket.
At that moment, Amy rushed over, looking worried. "Ethan, you handed over your phone. What if the company needs to reach you?"
Ethan stayed calm and replied softly, "It's fine. I told them before I left."
Amy lowered her head slightly, disappointment in her eyes. She whispered, "Ethan, thanks for joining me on this reality show."
Ethan frowned, his expression serious. "Amy, I've told you many times, I'm not here for you."
Amy's head shot up, her eyes full of surprise and confusion. "Then are you here for Emily?"
Ethan's eyes were resolute as he answered without hesitation, "Yes. I've owed her an apology for a long time. I hope she can see my sincerity."
Amy was stunned by Ethan's words. She thought to herself, if Ethan apologized to Emily online, wouldn't that mean he regretted everything he did to her back then? What did their two years of love and companionship mean then?
Ethan knew Amy would try to stop him, so he quickly said, "You don't need to say anything. I've repaid what I owed you, but I haven't even started repaying Emily."
"Amy, we each have our own lives. I can't play this role with you forever."
With that, Ethan ignored Amy and walked into his own dressing room.
Standing next to Amy, Jasper raised an eyebrow, watching the former couple, once heavily publicized online, openly discuss their past and present relationships on set. He rubbed his chin, feeling quite surprised.
Jasper thought it was already surprising enough that Ethan was participating in this show. He wondered, how much love did Ethan have to admit he loved the wrong person in front of millions of viewers?
But, as Wesley said, Ethan had no chance anymore. If Emily were a soft-hearted person, she would have remarried Ethan long ago, not dragged it out until now.
As for Jasper himself, he was participating in the show because of the company's arrangement, but more importantly, it gave him a chance to get close to Emily. Otherwise, how could a small-time actor like him get a chance to interact with a wealthy CEO like Emily?
Of course, if he could be part of Ethan's proposal, that would be even more interesting. After all, he was still young and had plenty of time. As long as Emily wasn't married, he always had a chance, Jasper thought to himself.
Amy stormed back to her dressing room. Her agent, Evelyn, walked over and handed her a mirror. "Remember, you're a public figure. Don't show a sour face in front of others, or they'll say you're acting like a diva again."
"Evelyn, I just saw Ethan. He's really planning to confess to Emily on this show! If he does that, won't I be humiliated? You know how much I've benefited from being his fake girlfriend! If we publicly break up, I'll lose fans like crazy!"
Amy knew Ethan no longer loved her, so she never hoped he would still care about their past. But she wanted to keep her job. Losing both her lover and her career would mean all her efforts over the years were in vain! She was unwilling to accept that.
"Don't worry! I won't let Ethan say a word," Evelyn replied casually, scraping off some smudged lipstick with her fingernail.
