Chapter 180 - Wanted by the Alpha Brothers

It only took about half an hour to run to the house while in wolf form because we cut through the woods and we were really fast. It was fun running in wolf form though. I loved it. But when the house came into sight I got a sinking feeling in my stomach.

The house was huge. Almost like a mansion but luckily it had a huge yard, because there were other houses next to it. We didn't want civilians getting hurt. And no one said anything about evacuating civilians. So Asher wasn't going to tell the neighbors what was going on. I guess he didn't want to tip Nick off as to what was happening.

I looked up at the house and all the windows were blacked out and the sun was just starting to appear but it was still dark. So I shifted back and I quickly got dressed. Noah shifted back for a moment and he grabbed my hand and pulled me to him to kiss me.

"I love you." He says.

"I love you too. I'll see you soon." I say. And I started walking to the house.

As soon as I got to the front door I opened the link to the rest of the pack and I walked into the house without knocking and there were people around everywhere. But it looked like they were getting ready to go to bed.

"Regan." A guy says to me. He was there during the first meeting with Nick. And with that Nick was down the stairs in a flash and was standing right in front of me.

"Hello Nick." I say.

"I'm surprised to see you here." He says.

"Well, I guess you were right. I need you more than I thought." I say.

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

"Ivy and Asher aren't what they claim to be. They wanted my powers for themselves." I say.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"They wanted to use me for their own purposes. I overheard them talking in the packhouse. They didn't know that I was there. I told Noah about it and he claimed that I must have been mistaken. He's worshiped them for years so I'm not surprised that he didn't believe me. So I left. I didn't know where else to go. So I came here." I explained.

"How did you know where we were?" A woman asked.

"After that first meeting and everyone else went home, I made up a story that I wasn't ready to go home yet. I needed to think. I followed you the best that I could. I made it to this neighborhood and almost got lost. Until I found the house with the blacked out windows. That's how I knew this was the right place." I explained.

"I knew that you would be resourceful." Nick says.

"I wanted to make sure that I had options. No matter what happened." I say.

"Come on in. Everyone is about to go to bed. But I can stay up for a little while. Let's go to the kitchen." Nick says. So I followed him to the kitchen and I noticed that women came with us.

"Who's she?" I asked.

"I am his partner Arabella. I am not leaving him alone with a werewolf." She demanded.

"I'm his daughter." I say.

"You're still a werewolf." She says.

"And a vampire." I say.

"She was raised with werewolves Nick. We can't trust her." Arabella says.

"No. She spent the last month and a half with werewolves. Before that she thought that she was human. Her mother never told her anything. She didn't know if she was a werewolf or vampire. There's no reason not to trust her." Nick says.

"Alright. She hasn't been living with just ANY werewolves. She was living with Ivy and Asher. The two werewolves in the world that everyone knows not to mess with. They would have found some way to get into her head." Arabella says.

"They tried. And they wanted me to try and find you. To use my connection to you so that they could kill you. But I didn't do it. They started getting angry with me, so I took off in the middle of the night. I convinced the warriors on patrol that I was meeting you on the other side of the border as per Asher's request. They believed me and let me through." I explained.

"Wow. You did a good job. I promise that you are safe here." Nick says, touching my hand. But it was freezing cold.

"I know that. Thank you very much. I don't know if they know where you live. If they do then they didn't tell me. So I don't know if they will come here looking for me." I say.

"Don't worry. During the day, we have day walkers on patrol of the whole property. They won't get through without us knowing about it." Nick says.

"Good. Just keep them away from me. They are really scary. Dad, I don't want to be scared of you too." I say.

"Who says that you need to be scared of me?" He asked.

"My mother. Ivy and Asher. Noah. Everyone who was meant to love me and protect me." I say.

"Well, you don't need to worry about your mother anymore. I took care of that problem. And as for Noah, did you reject him?" Nick asked.

"Yeah. On the way here. After I was far enough away that he couldn't catch up. I hope I was close enough for it to work." I say.

"Did you two mark each other yet?" Nick asked.

"No. We hadn't. I only shifted for the first time just over a month ago. I wasn't ready to go that far yet." I say.

"Good. But that means that we don't know if it worked. If you two had marked each other then we would know because the mark would be gone. But if you haven't done it yet, it's hard to tell." Nick says.

"But if they hadn't marked each other then he won't be able to follow her here. The mark can't be used as a beacon." Arabella says.

"That's another good point. They can't say for sure that you're here." Nick says.

"Alright. That's good. I'm sorry dad. I didn't know where else to go. I've got no one else." I say.

"Don't apologize. I wanted you to come here. This is the best day of my life." He says. He walked over to the bench and started making a coffee for me and him but not for Arabella. And she just stood there staring at me. She was making me really uncomfortable. I didn't know what was going through her head. But I definitely knew that she didn't trust me. That was nerve wracking. I didn't even look at her.
