Chapter 46- The missing Piece

CHAPTER 46

XAVIER'S POV

I was saddened when Allison threw me over her shoulders when I tried to hug her, watching the way that it made her happy I also felt happy.

I was a bit perplexed when one of my guards walked up to me.

"A merchant says he would like to see you before leaving" his words seemed a bit casual.

Why would a merchant want to see me?

"I'm here to pay my respects to your late father he was a friend of mine, he always buys my products. He made me very popular in this town, I bring a whole carriage of jewelries and it gets sold in a week or less than a week. That was all his doing, since he's not here I would like to pay my respects to you." he uttered, I was a bit surprised that some people didn't even know that my father was late.

"It's well received sir, I'm glad that you hold high praises for my father... Too sad that he's not here with us" I stuttered,

"Yes sire it seems that the nurse isn't working in the castle again. I can't seem to find her" I was a bit shocked when he asked after the Nurse, for a moment I felt like arresting him knowing that he would definitely take us to the nurse.

"She died a while ago and her daughter replaced her" I divulged, trying to depict who he was looking for, the mother or the daughter.

"Oh, the Mother is dead also... its been a while I stepped into these lands. She was the only person your father choose when he visited the pack at the valley"

"What valley?" I inquired, wondering what valley I didn't know about.

"Here's a map, you can go there if you want. Your father and I visited this valley. I didn't actually know the reason why he picked the nurse and brought her here. It was his personal reasons." he uttered as he placed the map in my hand.

"Interesting, I'll keep the map if you don't mind" I sighed as I held the map in my hands.

"You can have it, I'll be on my way" he uttered as he walked past me.

"When next you come, bring amazing items for me, I would really appreciate that" I uttered as I watched him until he was out of sight.

I turned back staring at Allison as she was exchanging words with Christian, I guess they must be talking about what she did to me earlier.

"Are you guys planning another cheap shot on me?" I was a bit amused seeing Allison exchange words in whispers. I knew they must be planning to make a fast move on me on the training grounds. I wouldn't even let them have another victory smile over me.

"I'm just telling her about the weapons" Christian uttered as she held out a sickle. He was looking at Allison, Allison had her head bent down, admiring the spear in her hands.

"A guard just told me that there's a valley at Scotland where my father usually travelled to and that Valley might be the genesis of our problem" I uttered remembering all the words the guard said to me.

"How did you know that?" Christian uttered, I guess he was doubting my words.

"Well he showed me this" I handed the map over to Christian, he flipped it to the back.

"I know this place, this was exactly the place where I was trained. I knew your father must have brought her mother from that valley, the reason is why" he exclaimed at this point.

"We don't know why and we can't drift from the actual problem, we have to tackle what's at hand and not adding to it" I was pissed at the fact that Christian wanted to go to the valley, when we have pressing matters of training and fighting off the actual enemies.

"This isn't adding this is getting to know about all the areas of what we're up against" He retorted.

"What are you insinuating Christian?" Allison inquired, I guess she wanted to listen to his opinion.

"Maybe his father had a connection with her mother hence she was brought here" He had a point.

"Fine Allison and Christian. You guys should head down to the library and find out what happened to the pack at the valley. I'll ask around from the elders" I uttered as Allison and Christian walked through the back door.

Something was really off about them both, felt like they had other plans, so I was getting suspicious about both of them

"Hey watch them both, alert me when you notice anything suspicious" I sighed in a mild tone, I definitely had the feeling that they were both has plans.

I walked into the courtroom, happy to see one of the elders, seating at his position. I was wondering if there was a meeting that they were holding.

"I would like to have a word with you" I inquired wearing a smile on my face staring into his eyes.

"What would you like to talk about?" He was eager to converse with me, I loved the fact that he was free and ready to talk.

"Well I want to talk about my father's visit to the valley"

"Are you serious?"

"I'm serious because it's baffled me that the nurse went missing so I'm only showing my concern" I had to convince him that nothing was really happening.

"Your father had an affair with the Nurse and that led to her being pregnant, being pregnant for a foreigner was a crime and the punishment was that you would be exiled from the pack" he uttered as I ordered for a jar of wine.

"Wine would do right?"

"Yes, wine is fine by me" he conceded to my words.

"Your father had a child growing in her womb and that was the reason why he had to take her and bring her to this pack, she became a member of this pack due to the fact that your father made everyone believe that she was a healer... He didn't lie actually, she was a healer but he hid the news about her being pregnant with his child. He wanted a son from her but it was a daughter so he killed her out of anger. The act was hidden within the council but at a point I guess someone told her daughter what happened to her mother, maybe that's why she's missing"

"So she's actually my sister"

"In flesh and blood. She's your sister, when she returns do treat her as one"

"I will definitely" I sighed knowing at this point that it would be hard to let her know about this new drift, the Nurse is my sister and I can't let her kill the nurse even after what she did.

"In that case if there's nothing else you want to talk about I beg to take my leave" he uttered as he walked past me, I stood at the same spot thinking about Allison's made up mind about torturing my sister. The actual missing piece my father told me about.

"Sire I think we have a problem" He uttered as he walked up to me, I wasn't surprised but got shocked at his words.

"What's that?" I inquired,

"I think Allison is missing" he announced as Christian rushed to the scene.

"Allison's missing," Christian confirmed the guard's words as he walked up to me.

"What do you mean?"

"We're discussing when she mentioned something about finding the nurse on her own so I stepped into the washroom and when I walked out she was gone" he uttered in a mild tone.

"I left her in your arms for half an hour and this happens. This is sick, just hope that we find her or you're dead" I growled as he shuddered, he was scared.

"Rally the guards and put them out there so they can find Allison, if they don't find her I'll have you on a steak" I growled, wondering if she was planning on killing my sister. I couldn't let that happen.

"We don't have to go looking for her, who's going to protect the pack from attacks... It'll be foolish to go after Allison" Christian's words were right, leaving the pack unprotected is a dangerous move.

"Yeah that's right... In that case you're the one to go after her and make sure you find her and bring her back to the castle of face my wrath" I ordered him, he knew I wasn't joking with my words so he was left with no choice than to go after Allison.

"Yes sire, I'll do as you've said" he conceded to my words as he scurried off into his room to take some items with him. I walked back into my room, feeling the urge to have a little nap before the day runs out.

"Do you know how long I've missed you! You returned and never tethered to check on me... She was right after all"
