My quarters

My quarters
Sicilia's Point of View:

“Who is she? She looks like a beggar,” an icy voice welcomed me into the mansion, and I furrowed my brows in surprise.

Two ladies dressed as sluts stood beside the staircase, their eyes scrutinizing me. I didn't know if I was supposed to feel uneasy or happy, but the look in their eyes made me feel somehow, it was an intimidating gaze, the type people gave me back at Kevin's pack. Frank had told me that to stop such a look, I needed to put on a brave face and give them a warm welcome, and in my dictionary, a warm welcome means a cruel, unforgettable experience.

“Milady, it’s such an honor seeing you,” Gamma Enoch greeted the lady, who smiled at him seducingly. He took each of their palms and placed a kiss on it. I rolled my eyes at this behavior which I considered barbaric.

“Oh, Enoch! Where have you been? I've been searching all over for you,” this less menacing out of the two ladies said to Enoch, and caressed his cheeks.

Enoch coughed uncomfortably, and gently took her hands off his cheeks. “Brenda, I am here now, but I'm afraid I have to go. I need to get this young lady to her quarters on time.”

The ladies turned to face me with a look of distaste on their faces.

I flashed a cold, calculating smile, meeting their gazes head-on. "Ladies," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm, "how lovely to be greeted with such warmth." My eyes lingered on their revealing attire, and I raised an eyebrow. "I see you're dressing for the occasion. Or is this the usual attire for...ladies of the manor?"

The icy voice belonged to a stunning blonde, her features chiseled and refined. She narrowed her eyes, her gaze flicking to my plain dress. "I'm Ariana, the chief mistress of this estate. Who are you? A slave? A maid? " Her tone implied I was beneath her.

I chuckled, a low, husky sound. "Mistress, huh? That's surprising. I'm Sicilia," I emphasized the mistress part, watching Ariana's expression darken.

The other lady, a raven-haired beauty, spoke up, her voice laced with curiosity. "What brings you to our humble pack, Sicilia?" Her eyes sparkled with mischief, but I detected a hint of warning beneath.

I smiled again, this time with a hint of menace. "Oh, nothing that concerns you...ladies." My gaze swept the opulent foyer, and I raised an eyebrow. "This is quite the palace. I'm surprised Gamma Enoch didn't mention the...impressive decor." I said, pretending to be a royal, and luckily, Enoch maintained a friendly smile.

Ariana's eyes flashed with anger, but I held her gaze, unyielding. Frank had warned me about the dynamics within the mansion, and I was ready to play their games. They didn't know, I'd been forged in the fires of Kevin's pack. These ladies had no idea what "intimidating" truly meant.

“Who is she?" Arianna asked Enoch suspiciously.

I knew if Enoch told her I was a maid, they would look down on me and would intimidate me. So I turned to face him, secretly winking my eyes. Enoch was surprised at my signal, and he arched his brows, wondering what he was supposed to say.

“Gamma?" Brenda snapped at Enoch, cautioning him to answer them.

Enoch was lost, and he looked at me, then at the two ladies. "Ugh.. she is Alpha Ken's guest, a distant relative to an elder," he stuttered, and I smiled in relief as I watched the look on the ladies’ faces turn to that of horror.

Ariana's eyes widened, her face pale. "Alpha Ken's guest?" she repeated her voice barely above a whisper.

"A relative to an elder?" Brenda's eyes darted between Enoch and me, her expression transformed from disdain to caution.

I savored the shift in power dynamics, my smile growing wider. "Yes, that's right, dear," I said, my voice dripping with sweetness. "I'm family. And I must say, your...hospitality is impressive." My gaze swept the foyer again, this time with an air of ownership.

Ariana's recovery was swift, her mask of composure slipping back into place. "Well, we wouldn't want to keep Alpha Ken's guest waiting," she said, her tone measured. "Enoch, please show Sicilia to her quarters.”

Brenda's eyes still held a hint of curiosity, but Ariana's warning glance silenced her. I noted the differences between the two women, one had authority over the other, and I kept it at the back of my mind for future reference.

Enoch bowed slightly. "Of course, milady. Follow me, Sicilia." He gestured toward the staircase.

As I ascended, I felt Ariana's gaze burning into my back. I knew this was far from over, and I had no intention of playing nice. I will show her that I was trained by the Prince of Hell, Frank.
We reached the top of the staircase, and Enoch leaned in, his voice low. "Well played, Sicilia. But be careful. Ariana won't forget this easily. I told you that the mansion is filled with wickedness, and Arianna is someone you should avoid like a plague if you want a good time here.”

I flashed him a sly smile. “Don't worry, l can handle myself. And who said anything about having a good time? I love bad times," I replied with a mischievous smirk.

Enoch's eyes widened, and he chuckled softly. "You're a formidable one, Sicilia. I'll give you that." He glanced around cautiously before leaning in closer. "Be cautious around Ariana. She has a reputation for being ruthless. And don't trust Brenda either; she's Ariana's puppet."

I nodded, filing away the information. "Thanks for the warning, Gamma Enoch." My gaze swept the lavish corridor, taking in the opulent decorations. "This mansion is impressive. It should be called a den of wolves."

Enoc's expression turned serious. "You have no idea what goes on within these walls, Sicilia. The mansion has its secrets." His voice dropped to a whisper. "There are those who would stop at nothing to claim power."

I nodded, this was something I expected. Everything, people always fought for power.
"With the reception you received earlier today, I thought you were also a powerful person,” I murmured, trying to know more, to know my friend and foe.

“Someone powerful?" Gamma Enoch mumbled thoughtfully.
