Vengeance

Vengeance
Sicilia's Point of View:

“I meant no harm; I just want to whisper something into your ears,” he apologized, looking remorseful.
“What are you doing here anyway?” I asked, ignoring his apology.
“I should be the one to ask you that,” he replied, squinting his eyes. “Let me guess. Delilah sent you to monitor me, right?” He asked carefully.
“Of course not! I am not jobless and would never be an errand girl to that proud demoness,” I answered curtly, not minding that her husband was in front.
“Proud demoness? That is new.” William furrowed his brows at me in surprise. “I've never seen Delilah bully you before,” he added, still looking surprised.
“She doesn't have to bully me. I was around when she sent the kind pregnant twins on a journey of no return, yet in front of her father, she denied it and even pushed her guards into the burning flame, just to prove her fake innocence,” I explained, gritting my teeth in fury as the event of that day replayed in my head.
William didn't look surprised; he shrugged his shoulders and smiled. “Then that means you are here for Alpha Ken's heart, right?”
“Oh yes, I am.” I nodded in agreement, an evil grin on my lips.
“Well then, I wish you luck. Guard this job tightly, and learn to swallow your pride sometimes. Also, if you need assistance in any way, do well to reach out to me,” he said, turning to leave.

“Yes, before I go, I must inform you not to make friends in this pack, because it would only complicate your mission. And remember, Alpha Ken and Kelvin are now two different people. You are likely to lose all your memories of the past if you keep thinking that Alpha Ken is Kelvin. Ken doesn't have family members, and he dislikes most of the things Kelvin likes. But they look alike and are both Alphas. Under no circumstances should you remind Ken of what you and Kelvin shared.
Think of all this as starting a new life, and your mission is to give Dracula, Alpha Ken's, heart in return for the life he gave you. All that happened with Kelvin is in the past. Channel your anger to destroy this new pack.” After saying those words, William quickly left, not giving me the chance to voice out my thoughts.
‘How did he know all that?’ I wondered aloud. I stood there, stranded. Not knowing where to go or who to meet. I could have entered the mansion, but the soldiers guarding the door looked ruthless and were boiling because I killed two of them.
I thought about forcing my way through, but William's words sounded in my mind, and I decided to act calmly for a while. I'm hoping that my calm behavior will make Alpha Ken trust me, and when he fully trusts me, I’ll kill him. Nothing is more painful than getting stabbed by the person you trust.
“Hey, you must be the new maid.” A nice-looking elderly woman, dressed in a sack, asked me. I didn't notice when she was coming towards me because I was lost in thought.
“Oh yes, I am the new maid,” I confirmed with a grimace on my face.
“Ummm,” she hummed as her eyes lingered on my dressing. “You will need better clothes and shoes,” she said with a friendly smile, but to me, there was nothing friendly about her smile.
“Better clothes and shoes?” I scoffed and rudely scanned her outfits. “Do you mean sack clothes and tattered shoes, like yours?” I asked with a menacing voice, ready to pounce on her.
The elderly woman was shocked by my words, and her eyes were filled with unshed tears. She turned her back to me and sniffed.

I felt pitiful for her at once; the woman reminded me of my former self. On several occasions, Kelvin's sisters would insult me and mock my poor dress, and anytime such happened, I would bury my face in my palm and wallow in self-pity. But now I was doing the same thing to an older woman, and I felt disgusted with myself.
“I am sorry; I didn't mean to make you cry.” I was remorseful, and although Frank had warned me several times not to feel pity, I still couldn't help it. I made an attempt to touch the woman's shoulders, but she held my hand and transformed into a handsome man.
“Hey,” the handsome man greeted me with a husky voice, still holding my hand. He was handsome, and his eyes shone like the sun. He was dressed in the finest material, befitting a warrior, and a magnificent sword was in his other hand.
“I am Enoch, Alpha Ken's Gamma. And I must add, I'm his best friend—I mean, one of his closest friends,” he introduced himself, a smirk on his face.

I was shocked at his sudden transformation, and I wondered where the elderly woman was. He must have noticed my confusion because he offered me an assuring smile.
“Oh, don't be so surprised; I am a shape-shifter, and it's one of the many things I do to ensure that the Alpha's mansion is safe and free from intruders and evil beings,” he explained, but I still didn't understand what he meant.
“Do you mean the elderly woman never existed?” I asked with raised brows. “Or is this Frank? Oh no! You are here to check if I remember your lessons, right?”
Without waiting for a response, I continued. “I... I didn't feel pity for her; I was just trying to tease her.” I lied through my teeth, thinking Frank was the mastermind behind all of this.
Enoch stared at me with furrowed brows, and I still couldn't help but wonder what he felt after hearing my insecure confession.
“Who is Frank?” He asked with a twisted lip when he finally regained his sanity.
“Oh!” I shook my head multiple times and said, “It's nothing.”
“Oh, anyway, the older woman does exist; her name is Patricia, and she's our headmaid. But remember, you're in the Alpha's mansion, and you are prone to having many enemies and haters who will be willing to do anything just to see you in pain; are you sure you are ready for this?” Gamma Enoch asked with a serious face.
My eyes lightened up at once: ‘Haters, enemies, failed missions.’
“This is a real competition; some fun at last,” I thought, shuddering in excitement.
“I was reincarnated, ready for this,” I replied, my eyes crying out wickedness.
Enoch was surprised by my response, but the smile on his face didn't fade away.
We both walked towards the huge mansion gate. The soldiers on guard bowed at him, and I immediately knew he wasn't any type of man; he was one with power and authority.
He pushed the door open and whispered ‘Come in’ into my ears.
As I took my first step, a malicious laughter left my throat. It's advised not to invite just anyone into your home because some people will make significant changes. As for Alpha Ken, he invited the Devil into his home, but don't ever forget, the Devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
As for me, I entered with a simple mission: ‘VENGEANCE.’
