Chapter 221 Chapter 221

Savannah was sitting on the couch, rubbing her baby bump softly while watching Liam play with his toy cars on the carpet. Adrian had gone out for a quick meeting, promising to return before lunch. The house was quiet and peaceful, until her phone beeped.

She smiled a little, thinking it was Adrian checking up on her.
But when she opened the message, her heart froze.

Nathaniel: “So it’s true, Savannah. Liam is my son.”

Her hand began to shake. For a moment, she couldn’t breathe. The words on the screen looked blurry. Her chest tightened as tears filled her eyes.

Nathaniel: “You kept my son away from me all these years? You let another man raise him like his own?”

She dropped the phone on her lap and covered her face. “Oh God… no,” she whispered, her voice trembling. Liam turned and looked at her, confused.

“Mummy, what’s wrong?” he asked in his sweet voice.

Savannah quickly wiped her tears and forced a smile. “Nothing, baby. Go on, play.”

But deep inside, her heart was breaking.

Her phone buzzed again. Another message.

Nathaniel: “You have no idea what you’ve done to me. You took away my blood. My own son!”

Savannah bit her lip, shaking her head. “No, Nathaniel, you threw me away. You never wanted us.”

She picked up the phone with trembling fingers and typed back slowly.

Savannah: “You lost that right the day you sent me out with nothing. Liam doesn’t even know you exist.”

A few seconds later, his reply came fast.

Nathaniel: “Then you better start preparing, Savannah. I’m coming for my son.”

Her heart dropped. She felt her breath stop for a second. “No…” she whispered, clutching her chest.

She stared at the screen for a long time, her tears falling freely. The memories of that painful night — when Nathaniel threw her out, cold and pregnant — flashed through her mind.

She took a deep breath and replied with shaky hands.

Savannah: “Please, Nathaniel. Don’t drag this anymore. Let Liam live in peace. I beg you.”

But the typing dots appeared again.

Nathaniel: “You had your peace for too long, Savannah. Now it’s my turn.”

Savannah threw the phone on the couch and started crying quietly. She couldn’t let Adrian see her like this.
Her body was shaking, and the baby kicked softly, as if feeling her pain.

“Please, not again,” she whispered to herself. “Not again…”

Liam ran to her and hugged her waist. “Mummy, don’t cry,” he said softly.

She hugged him back, her tears falling on his little shoulder. “I’m fine, baby. Mummy’s fine,” she lied.

When Adrian came home later that afternoon, he met Savannah quiet, her face pale. She smiled weakly and said she was just tired, but Adrian could feel something wasn’t right.

He held her chin gently. “Are you sure you’re okay?”

She nodded. “I just need some rest.”

But deep inside, she knew — her past was coming back again.
And this time, she didn’t know how to protect her son.
