Chapter 69 - Conflict

Chapter 69 - Conflict

Sera could feel the tension in the air, that was his last mission, but it certainly wasn’t the easiest.
Sera could feel the tension in her bones, as if he was in a dangerous environment where there was no control. After all, she and Karim could have broken the cycle, but these people did not.
The rancor and hatred that the Ramesses nurtured for her family was of a proportion that perhaps she could not contain.
The energy of those souls was worse than all that Sera had felt in there and changed with her arrival. The woman could feel the hatred against her.
Several faces surrounded her with a dense energy that made her want to vomit, the dizziness hit her and she almost fell but remained firm.
Sera did not yield to the beings that surrounded it. Being possible only to see its yellow eyes peeking at her. The growls of everyone against her came from all sides, but the young woman ignored. She did not want to fight, wanted to settle things peacefully. However, I knew that I would do it if necessary. I was no longer the silly and weak girl of before.
Sera stood firm, looking down on them for a while, fighting against the dense energy of those who threatened to consume it.
However, there was something more there, besides hatred and a heavy energy. Something that appears and left it trapped there.
Sera felt her body give way, and was forced to kneel on the ground. An entity with brown hair and red eyes as a demon forced her to do so. She did not look like a wolf but a monster that consumed everything around with its energy.
The souls of the other Cohens moved away to let that woman pass. It was as if she were a kind of leader of the place. Someone who possessed a feeling so deep and intense that he refused to take the form of a soul sphere.
Sera felt the air she breathed decrease, as if her throat was being squeezed, even if no one had their hands on it. It was definitely the work of that woman.
Sera recognized the white dress with red corset and brown hair of that wolf. It was Edith, the woman she had seen hang herself for seeing her lover killed by someone from the Cohens.
Eyes without pupils, only the color of blood, stared at Sera with an immeasurable hatred, which prevented the younger move or said something.
"It’s been a while since I’ve felt such a foul odor." Edith said raising her head in a tone of superiority. " The smell of a Cohen." She said spitting on the ground near Sera.
"No... No..." Sera tried to speak, but her throat was still pressed due to the rancor of that one in front of her.
Edith laughed mockingly and said in a mocking tone. "This is the child who will help us? One with the blood of the Cohens? What is this joke?" She screamed angrily, kicking Sera in the stomach.
Sera fell to the ground and gasped with the pain of the kick. That question would not be resolved on the basis of the conversation. The fight would be necessary for sure.
She growled with her eyes turning yellow and turned into a wolf, attacking Edith.
Edith was not someone innocent or unprepared and at the same instant turned into a wolf almost equal to Sera, only slightly larger.
She jumped against Sera who knocked her to the ground, but was soon knocked back. The sound of both rolling on the floor with grunts and howls of anger, could be heard everywhere.
A kick from Sera was given to Edith, causing the wolf to scream when her eye was hit. Sera was younger and faster than she, after all.
Taking the chance, Sera bit the other woman’s neck quickly, the cry of pain can be heard however, she did not stop until she felt the total taste of blood in her mouth.
Releasing Edith on the floor, Sera’s wolf growled and said, "I want to help, I’m not like the other Cohens. I was also hurt by them." She screamed, the hate expressed in her voice. "But if you want to keep fighting, let’s go." he snarled.

Edith stood up with her wolf’s eye bleeding, and her throat sore. "I don’t believe you." She said in a weak voice.
"My father, a Cohen, abused me for years. He took my wolf from me." Sera said angrily, blood also dripped from the wounds that Edith had inflicted on her. "Do you think I don’t hate the Cohens too?" She approached, showing anger in her eyes.
"But the Ramesses also murdered my mother, who was an innocent person and also hated the Cohens. Shouldn’t I be angry too? Shouldn’t I hate you too?" she roared.
"But I don’t hate it. I know both sides have hurt each other. However, this has to stop." Sera said turning into human form again. "I am also Sera Ramesses." She said showing the mark on her neck. " My husband is Karim Ramesses, first-born of the current clan and future alpha of the pack." She said with a determined look. " If I were not the right person, Mother would not have chosen me."
Sera looked at Edith with superiority, something she had to do in order to stand out. She had a mission to fulfill. And pinches would not interfere with it.
Edith looked up and turned human again. The other Ramesses also walked away in a show of respect.
Edith stood up and looked more closely at the binding mark that Karim had made on Sera’s neck.
"Really, you’re part of our family too." the woman said with a smile. "I didn’t imagine that could be possible." Edith has confessed.
"Sometimes fate has unknown means to change generational conflicts. I and Karim are willing to change." Sera gave a slight smile, her expression softening. " We must free the future of my children, clean it of all this hatred between your ancestors. And you need peace too." She said softly, her tone of voice returning to what it always was.
Edith lowered her head, convinced. "I accept. But it wasn’t me who suffered the most with the Cohens. There is someone you must know, someone who suffered through Lincoln Cohen just like you."

A woman with black hair, gentle look and wearing a white and golden dress appeared among them. Sera raised her eyebrows when he saw her. That was Damia Ramesses, Karim’s aunt. The reason for Otto’s anger against Lincoln.

The woman approached Sera and extended her hand, inviting her in a soft voice.

"Let’s clear the hardest part of our lineage, Sera Ramesses. The one that was soiled by that man."
