Chapter 35 - Demonstrations

**Hailey's P.O.V.**

When the king and queen said they were going to send help, I didn't know what to expect. However, the three couples that exit the vehicle were not what I'd imagined. They all seem to be mad at the redhead for some reason.

"Davina, I swear if you sing that song one more time, I'm going to have Rmina put a spell on you that makes you mute." The dark-haired woman carrying a pup yells. The one, who I'm assuming is Davina, begins giggling and twirling. What are they going to do, put on a show? They sure capture all of our attention because everyone is staring at them. Suddenly, the one carrying the pup turns to us and smiles. The largest man that came with them puts his arm around her.

"Hello. Sorry for our less-than-graceful entrance. I'm Jessi. This is my mate, Wyatt, and our little pup, Camilla." I smile at Jessi as Dante, and I shake their hands. The others join them.

"What about us?" Davina asks. I don't know what she is, but she makes me want to giggle, and I'm not the giggling type. Jessi rolls her eyes.

"These are our four shadows. This is Davina, the annoying fairy, and her mate Jock the tall, quiet one. Then we have Rmina, the angry witch, and her mate, the lost puppy Trevor." They all glare at Jessi. So we have a fairy, a witch, and four lycan warriors. I can tell that Jessi is the female warrior that Dante told me about. She looks strong, and I wouldn't want to fight her even though she's slightly smaller than me.

"That's not nice. I'm not annoying. I just like to make up songs. Do you want to hear one?" Davina asks. Just as I get ready to say yes, the other five scream.

"NO!" Interesting. I'm going to have to hear this song now, but maybe when not so many people are around. If nothing else, this is going to prove to be entertaining.

"We're so happy you could come. I'm Hailey, and this is my mate Dante; he's the alpha. Ellis is his beta, and his mate is my sister Stephanie. Then Ellis' sister is Natalie, and she's mated to Brent. Last but not least, we have Tony. He's a warrior and mated to my sister Kerri. The three of us are Selene's daughters, and sometimes we find her just as annoying as you do Jessi." I smile when I see her eyes widen. This causes the others to laugh. I believe Jessi isn't taken by surprise often.

"I never said she was annoying. At least not to her face." Jessi says. My sisters and I start laughing.

"I get it. Before I realized she was my mother, I told her I didn't want her pulling me to her realm anytime she felt like it. Stephanie said Mom talked about you. She admires you, Jessi, and she's a little scared of you." I can't help chuckling when Jessi's mouth falls open.

"I scare her? I scare the Moon Goddess? Yes, yes, yes, I needed that. What do you want us to do? I can teleport. Wyatt can freeze time. Jock can make himself virtually invisible. Trevor is strong as hell. Rmina is the best witch I know." Davina clears her throat when Jessi stops. "Fine. Davina is a badass fairy."

I exchange looks with the people around me, and they look as stunned as I feel. Did we just walk into a Disney movie? I think Jessi can read my mind because she starts laughing.

"I promise we're not as big a mess as we seem. Can you hold Camilla?" She holds the little pup out to me, and I take her readily. She's a beautiful little girl with big brown eyes and a head full of dark hair. I look up as they spread out. So we are getting a show.

They pair up with their mates. Jessi and Wyatt go first, getting into their stances. I'm already impressed by Jessi when I see what she's going to do, but I don't know how she's going to counter someone as big as Wyatt. Wyatt lunges for her, and she does a backflip, landing behind him and squatting down. When he turns, she springs up, grabs him around his neck, and throws him over her back as though he weighs nothing. A lot of people watching this might think he's letting her take him down, but I can tell by the look on his face that he was trying to stop her. When Jessi turns her back on him and smirks, Wyatt prepares to grab her, but she swings around and sweeps his legs.

She then turns to Rmina and Trevor. Trevor gets into a stance, but Rmina stands with her arms crossed. When he lunges for her, she doesn't move, but he falls to the ground, holding his stomach. When he stands up, he tries to go for her again but falls to his knees, holding his head. Rmina smiles, helps Trevor up, and kisses him.

"I put the spell of illness on him, so anytime he tried to take me down, he felt sick," Rmina explains. I understand what they're doing. The men are warriors, and it's obvious they can fight. However, the women, at first glance, don't look like they would make challenging opponents. Other than Jessi. Davina and Jock are next.

He takes a stance and looks nervous while she twirls. What's she going to do? Make him dizzy? As Jock goes for Davina, she suddenly disappears, and he falls to the ground. Where did she go? I see a tiny little light, and then Davina reappears. When Jock goes for her again, she blows something on him, and he starts coughing like he's choking. Davina blows more dust, and he stops.

"I can make myself tiny or fifteen feet tall. I can use my dust to take control of people so they'll do what I want or make them feel what I want." She says as she giggles.

"You're impressive and a little terrifying," I say honestly while cuddling Camilla. Is it possible to beat all those coming for us with her cuteness? I know we'd win.

"We've fought evil before. Queen Zoe also gave us some of the silver antidote she created. If anyone gets shot with silver, it's been proven to save lives. She saved Wyatt when he was shot with a silver arrow." Jessi says. I like her. She's got a take-charge attitude, and it's obvious that everyone, including all the men, follow her lead because they've barely spoken.

"Come inside, and we'll show you to your rooms and then show you around the pack. If you don't mind, I'm going to hold this little one a little longer. We need some pup cuddles after all the darkness we've had recently." My sisters and Natalie, as well as their mates, come over to ohh and ahh over Camilla, too. Jessi kisses her daughter's forehead and smiles.

"Hold her for as long as you want. Just do me a favor; don't let Davina sing to her." I look over at the fairy, who giggles. I seriously want to hear one of her songs.

"She doesn't know what I'm saying. Besides, I'm her fairy godmother." Jessi rolls her eyes as they grab their things from the SUV, and we head inside.

"Yeah, a fairy godmother with a dirty mind who can't keep her mouth shut." She says under her breath. We show them their rooms, and I reluctantly hand over Camilla so she can eat. Dante and I go to the office with the others while our guests get settled.

"So what do you think?" I ask them, sitting on Dante's lap.

"I think they're interesting. Jessi and Rmina take no shit. Davina, the jury is still out on that one. I hope she isn't as annoying as she seems. The three men are warriors." Kerri says, giving a rundown. I agree, except about Davina. She's different, but there's something more there. I think she's not always been the happy, giggling, twirling fairy she is now.

**The Killer's P.O.V.**

What is this? Who are these people, and why are they here? When I see them give demonstrations of what they're capable of, I feel a slight unease wash over me. I don't like surprises.

It doesn't feel like Blue Moon is giving me the respect I deserve, so it's time to take action. Another one of their pack members dies tonight. Maybe I'll make it one of the newcomers to use as an example and remind them that I'm the one they need to fear above everyone else.
