Chapter 61 Sienna's pov

Chapter 61 Sienna's pov
The room was silent with my heart beating so fast that I felt it was going to explode out of my chest.

I was scared, and I felt the whole pack was slowly turning against me.

I looked at Stephan. “Do I need to tell you that they did this? They cut off his tongue. He would have told the truth. He would have testified that he saw the vial.”

Elder Zack looked at me, and his gaze said a lot. I knew that there was nothing he could do anymore.

“I can't believe you tried to lie your way out of this.” Juliet said, laughing.

I turned my gaze at her, and she immediately kept quiet.

The moment Alpha Stephan stood up, I held my breath. It was almost as if it was difficult to breathe.

I remembered the kiss we stole some few days ago. That should matter, right? He should try and forgive me or probably have me work as Olivere’s maid.

But instead, he walked past me and walked directly towards Olivere. With a bent knee, Stephan proposed officially, asking her to be his Luna.

“Yes! Yes!!” She screamed with her fingers stretched out. Tears rolled down my eyes as my gaze met with Lucian's. I could see the anger burning in his eyes.

All the elders stood up and bowed at once to Alpha Stephan. “Long live, Alpha Stephan.”

They all chorused.

Stephan's uncle let out a sigh. They all got up one after the other and walked out, leaving me to the wrath of Stephan and Elder Vincent once again.

“What do we do with her?” Olivere asked with a smug grin on her face.

“It is long overdue. She should either be sent to the mines or sent to meet her dead mother.” Alpha Stephan said, looking at me.

That was when I realized Stephan never cared about me even though he might know the truth about the death of his father.

He was blinded by love.

“Take her to the blocks. Make sure she is blindfolded before her head is chopped off,” he said, waving his hands without looking at me.

\[High pitch\]

At first, I thought he was joking, but the aura in the room, the way he walked back to his seat, and the look in his eyes showed Stephan actually meant what he said.

“You can't be serious.” I said from the court block I was in.

“Can't be? I am the Alpha of this pack, Sienna, in case you have forgotten!” His voice thundered.

“I didn't kill your father, and I am sure my dead mother was innocent, but yet you foolishly killed her. Aren't you sorry for accusing the wrong person?” I shouted, falling to my knees.

Some of the elders hissed, while some pretended that they were not bothered by what I said.

“You are the daughter of a traitor, Sienna. But Olivere here made sure you were tested with dignity still, but you were not pleased with it. I can't believe my uncles wanted to use you as leverage to have me stripped of my title. I am going to have you killed before something like that happens again.”

With a snap of his fingers, two guards rushed towards him. “Get rid of the old and make sure you have her head brought to me.”

One of the guards walked towards the old man and dragged him to his feet.

The man tried to speak, but he couldn't. I could see the tears rolling down from his face.

His hand stretched out in the air as if to grab me. His gaze darted back and forth.

“Take him out!” Stephan bellowed hard.

“We have a wedding to plan.” Juliet giggled, holding tightly to Olivere's arms.

As one of the guards walked towards me, I suddenly felt the air around me change.

“You will get your hands off her this instant, or I am going to have it chopped off!” he said with anger.

The hall went dead silent.

“Has he lost his mind?”

“How can a mere guard challenge the Alpha's order?”

“Does he have a death wish?”

The elders speculated, while some were actually interested in who the guard might be.

Elder Vincent laughed. “Stay back, Lucian. You might get hurt, and if you think this is going to go down the way it did the last time, then you are wrong. Sienna has been marked for death. There is nothing you can do about it.”

Lucian looked at me and back at Elder Vincent. I saw his eyes glow faintly, a look of dread on his face. He looked at the guard again. “Get your hands off her!”

The guard wanted to touch me, and in a flash, he moved.

His movements were fluid. I shrieked, and the guard's hand fell on the floor right in front of me.

I looked at Lucian, who was now standing in front of me. “She is mine! She is my mate, and if anyone wants to kill her, then you are going to have to go through me.”

Elder Vincent signalled, and five of his men moved slowly towards him.

“Stop!”

Stephan shouted from his seat. The guards parted ways as he walked down from his throne and stood in front of Lucian.

“I get the fact that you are in love. But you need to understand that Sienna is wolf-less. She became one when I rejected the bond. There is no way she is yours,” he said, turning his back. “I am going to let this slide simply because you belong to Elder Vincent. The next time you try to challenge my order will be your last. Take her.” Stephan said without looking at me.

“I said get the hell away from her!” Lucian shouted yet again.

He struck the guard in front of him, and his head departed from his shoulder, rolling towards Alpha Stephan.

The hall went dead silent as the silent thud of the head in front of everyone.
