Chapter 100 Chapter 0100
•CLYDE•
“I’m sorry, okay? But I love you, Clyde, and I wanted Annabelle to be yours. I know I should’ve told you the truth. But you must understand I made a mistake with Lanny.”
“Nothing will change for now, so I’ll give you a few days to tell Annabelle the truth. She must know her father, but that doesn’t mean I want out of her life.” I answered Daphne after dropping Annabelle off at her place.
She folded her arms across her chest and sighed while I opened the door of my car.
“Alright, fine. I’ll tell Annabelle the truth.”
“That’s good. I’ll see you later.” I hopped into my car and drove off to Natasha’s place.
My mind was all over the place, and I didn’t know what to do about Kyle’s kidnapping. He was my son, and I wanted to do everything to find him without raising suspicions.
When I got there and found his car parked in the driveway, my heart raced, but I couldn’t turn back now.
Susan opened the door and furrowed her eyebrows as she let me inside. Richard and Natasha lifted their eyes and saw me approaching inside the living room.
“Clyde?” Natasha rose from the couch, glancing at Richard before she approached me. “What are you doing here?”
“Yes, what are you doing here, Clyde?” Richard asked as he leaned forward, slipping his hands into his pockets.
“Natasha called and told me someone kidnapped Kyle. So, I decided I should pass by and help where I can to find him.” I kept my eyes on Natasha, trying to read her cues on whether I should avoid making it obvious that we were together.
I didn’t want to ruin what she had planned with Richard.
“Yeah, he’s right. We need him. He knows people and can help us narrow the list of people who might have taken our son.”
“Very interesting,” Susan scoffed as she leaned forward, and Natasha glared at her. “I hope you two won’t make us feel like third wheels. It would be a shame to make this about you instead of Kyle.”
“Susan?” Natasha scolded her. “What are you doing?”
“I’m just saying that Richard and I don’t want to feel like we are third wheels with you two around. We’ve already called the people who will search for Kyle, so his presence here won’t make a difference.”
I furrowed my brow in confusion because I had never seen Susan being this arrogant and selfish. It was obvious she was indirectly telling Richard that something was going on between Natasha and me.
“How dare you?” Natasha faced her, snarling. “If you don’t want to be here, leave, and stop trying to cause a scene. I won’t tolerate your attitude anymore. Do you hear me?”
“Are you going to send Clyde away as well? He’s my cousin and has no business being here unless you want him here because you’re sleeping with him behind my back.”
Natasha looked at Richard and scoffed, rolling her eyes. “You and I were long done. I still stand by my word that you know where Kyle is, but if Susan is dumb enough not to see through you, I won’t let her judgment cloud my own.”
“Is it because of him?!” Richard snapped, pointing his finger at me. “Is he the one who told you I faked Greg’s kidnapping?! He’s my fucking cousin, Natasha! You’re sleeping with my fucking cousin!”
“Can you stop pretending for a minute that you’ve been faithful to me? You lied to me, Richard! You left with another woman while I watched and made plans to get money from Susan through me. All this time, you’ve been pretending as if you wanted me and our family back when all you wanted was Susan’s money! So, don’t stand there and insult me!”
“I would never sleep with your cousin! Clyde’s my cousin and like a brother to me!” He sneered, looking at me. “I should’ve known that my mother was right about you. You’re a whore and would never stop being a whore, Natasha.”
‘That motherfucker,’ I thought as I leaned toward him and punched him in the face.
“Don’t fucking call her that again, or you’re dead!” I threatened him when he fell to the floor and tried to get up, but stumbled.
Richard laughed as he stood up from the floor, wiping the blood from his nose, and when he saw it, he huffed.
“What I said is true, and Natasha knows it. She would’ve died a whore if I hadn’t saved her life when Roman tried to kill her. So go ahead, Clyde, and feast on my leftovers and the other hundred men out there.”
I was about to punch him again when Natasha held me back. “It’s okay, Clyde, please. Can we talk outside?”
“You can’t allow them to talk like this to you, Nat. Did you hear them? Even your friend, or did you allow her to talk like that to you?”
“It’s okay, honestly. I have everything under control.”
She took my hand and led me to the hallway, and when we got to the front door and opened it, I stood still and cupped her face with my hands.
“I won’t go anywhere until we find our son, Natasha. I don’t care if Richard finds out the truth. He should know, so he stops insulting us, and I don’t even understand why you’re letting them treat you like this.”
I was angry and wished to tell them who Natasha was, since Susan seemed to have forgotten and was enjoying being called the Wilson heiress.
It was disgusting watching Richard suck up to her, thinking she had money.
Natasha opened the door and led me outside. “Don’t worry about me. I just want you to follow along. I know what I’m doing.”
“I can’t fold my arms and do nothing while Richard and Susan insult you.”
Natasha leaned forward and kissed me before she pulled back. “You must trust me.”
