Chapter 69 Simon's angry
Chapter 69 Simon's angry
Simon tried swallowing his anger. He planned on teaching Isabella in the future. Watching them both leave, he grit his teeth hard. Lately he had faced a lot of humiliation because of them fabricating his personality as madness. He wished he could just strangle the girl to death.
“Hmph, Witch Queen, make sure you and I never cross paths ever again in the future.”
With that, he started walking towards the mansion. Isabella and Evan were already out of view.
Simon was boiling with rage. Intending to go through the main door of the mansion, he accidentally hit his head. Being the drama king he was, instead of holding his stamina, he let himself fall to the ground. Good thing no one was around to watch him humiliate himself like this. But… there was something wrong. The impact was undeniably strong and the pain was enough to make him see stars.
“Ah… ough! That hurts,” he said, helping himself up and gently rubbing the spot where he had hit the door. “My forehead! No, no, what will all these pretty girls think?”
Little did Simon know the pain was making him lose his sanity; it felt as if he was about to hallucinate. Shaking his head, he told himself this little hit was no threat to someone as vicious as him.
“After all, no villain is bound to die like this,” he said, forcing himself to the guest room Lord Raphael’s savant had chosen for him. When he was inside, he felt his head spin with pain, as if it was stirring with memories long forgotten. Laying on the bed, all he could do was endure the horrible pain, just squeezing himself and rolling around.
Flashes of his memory showed a girl with long black hair. It was still dark at that time so he couldn’t say for sure, but she looked exactly like Isabella—only the hair was black.
The memory showed flashes of a girl named Lena, a girl whom Simon truly trusted and treasured. She sat on the floor with a shaky body as blood splashed out her mouth. Seeing this scene, Simon now remembered when she died. But after that, he lost his memory all of a sudden.
“Time to die, pretty face,” Isabella said, raising her silver sword ready to pierce it into Lena’s heart.
“Please don’t! Witch Queen, I beg you!” This was about two or three and a half years ago.
“Lena!” Simon called out, watching the scenario from afar. And though he could use his vampiric speed to stop Isabella, she had already pierced the sword into Lena’s heart. It was her silver sword, so if it intended to kill, it killed. Simon dropped to his knees and held the dead girl in his hands. He could tell how powerful the silver sword was because as soon as it dug into her heart, it killed her on the spot.
Seeing that she had killed a vampire’s person, Isabella was quick to chant a spell to lock Simon’s memory. Though vampires can see in the dark, a spell was on her that day so the vampire on the ground couldn’t see her clearly.
After locking his memories, she immediately disappeared. Maybe one day if the vampire remembered her, he might come for revenge. The memory lock was supposed to last for a decade, but now the redhead bombed his head. Waking up from the nightmare, he breathed heavily.
“Lena, Lena…” he muttered. Just remembering the girl, a long tear slammed down his cheek. It had been long since anything such as tears appeared in his eyes.
To think that the murderer of the girl he once loved was inside the same roof as him? Little by little the torment stopped totally and his heart was left with pain.
…
The next day, Lord Raphael made sure the dining table was well set. No bloodtea was found, making both Simon and Zeke more furious.
“Lord Raphael, what do I eat? There’s no day I don’t drink bloodtea in the morning. Are you plotting something? You want me to get weak, right?” Lord Raphael ignored him and just ate his food silently. Seeing that Raphael wasn’t ready to bring in bloodtea, Zeke obediently ate, planning on getting the bloodtea himself after eating.
“So much meat,” said Evan, her hands shaking, figuring where to start eating.
“Haha, eat as much as you want,” Lord Raphael said, patting her head. Evan’s smile widened.
“Hmph… then I won’t be polite.”
On the other hand, Isabella was focused on eating, not even raising her head.
“Wow, Your Majesty… seems like you love the food here, hehe,” Evan teased.
“It’s good. Eat more,” Isabella mumbled with food in her mouth.
“I’ll be leaving,” Simon said, standing up and walking to the mansion’s main door.
“Better not run away—wait in the carriage!” Lord Raphael instructed.
After they were done eating, Zeke was fast to go inside Raphael’s kitchen and made himself five glasses of bloodtea. When he was satisfied, he went and met with the others outside Lord Raphael’s carriage.
“Is everything ready?” Zeke asked, his eyes fixed on the carriage.
“Hmm, it should be,” Evan replied, tapping his shoulder.
“That’s good.”
“Come on, we have to get moving. Our journey is a bit far. If we don’t move early we won’t make it on time.” The five of them got inside the carriage and Lord Raphael ordered the coachman to get moving.
Several hours passed but they were still on their way. In the carriage, happy Evan chatted with Lord Raphael, and when she found the topic boring she urged Zeke to talk too. It was making her laugh hard inwardly. While in the other corner of the carriage, Simon and Isabella sat on each side. Today his face was no longer smiling, just cold and blank. Evan finally noticed.
“Simon, what’s wrong?” she asked slowly, and the carriage went silent. Simon’s attention was immediately drawn to her.
“How do you mean?”
“Huh? You’re not smiling today. Face all blank and cold like a villain. What’s up?” Evan pointed out.
“Why? You don’t like it? I got my head checked and the doctor was really good, just as you’ve described. Now I’m healed of madness. Thanks to you, Evan.”
