Chapter 94: Can't Believe My Eyes!

Chapter 94: Can't Believe My Eyes!
Damian Black's POV:

When I asked my last question, Nathan reached up and paused the video briefly as everybody else turned around to look at each other in an uncertain manner, all before they turned back to look over at me. I was still leaning to one side, my elbow resting on the armrest of my chair, my lips lightly covered, touching my fingers, lightly dragging my fingers back and forth in front of my lips.

I wanted answers. I wanted to know who this particular individual was, and I needed to know whether my men knew exactly who this was written about. I could tell by the look in their eye, but still, no one seemed to tell me who he was.

"So I take it..." I started to say as I looked at each and every single one of their faces. "By the looks on your faces, none of you recognize him."

The expression on my men showed that they saw the guy's face. However, from earlier, they didn't seem to recognize this particular individual. I wasn't concerned, as I'm sure I can figure it out. I just needed to see the guy's face for myself. Then I could make my own calculations about who I might be up against. And when I find out, they will wish they had never driven through the parking lot at that moment.

"Go ahead and continue playing it for now," I said, to which Nathan responded without a word, hitting the play button again.

Whoever this particular individual was didn't waste any time. It was no sooner than he walked around the front of the vehicle out of sight that I sat up straight in my seat and waited to see what was going to happen next. Nothing prepared me for what I did actually see, though.

I couldn't believe my eyes at what I saw next. When this one man walked around the side of the vehicle toward his door, he was accompanied by his driver, but with one specific addition. The man in question was looking down at Kelly Anne. No matter, I still couldn't see his face from this angle, even though Nathan had zoomed it in as far as he could.

What did I notice about him? His hair was dark. He was wearing a pristine business suit, and his shoes shone in the sun. My jaw dropped as I leaned back and watched this in shock. That's when the driver opened the door as he climbed back in, still holding Kelly Anne in his arms, and the door was closed again. As they pulled away, they were not slow about it either.

Did this strange somehow know something? Did he know he was making a huge mistake, taking something that didn't belong to him?

"What is happening right now?" I nearly shouted through my gritted teeth as I stood up to my feet upon seeing this play out. "He's taking her with him? You can't be serious! And who in their right mind would allow her to check out of the hospital in her current condition?!"

I was more than pissed off at this point, as I was leaning forward and gripping the front edge of the table in front of me. If I wasn't already test off, this certainly wasn't helping, as everything that I was seeing helped fuel my rage, knowing that she was now in the grasp of some other random man who decided to take her with him.

"When did this happen?" I demanded a moment as I leaned forward over the edge of the table.

"Not all that long ago, I'm afraid," Gerald said as I looked around the table.

My men didn't want to look at my fearful and intense gaze at that precise moment, but overall they still managed to look up at me. Right then, I stood up straight as I raised my chin, looking down at all of them still seated around the table.

"We gotta figure out who this is," I said as I relaxed my grip on the front edge of the table and sat back in my chair.

"Can you play the other video?" Andre was the one to speak at this time, seeing exactly how irritated I was after just playing across the screen.

"Sure thing," Nathan said as he looked over at Andre before looking back at me.

I watched as his head looked down at the remote as he pressed several buttons before the screen completely changed. I took that opportunity to take my seat once more, and when I looked back up, I noticed the video had switched to a different angle. This one was showing a view from the corner of the hospital building, looking back towards the hospital's main entrance.

"Good," I said as I noticed where, in relation to this image, Kelly Anne would have wandered off to here shortly. "This will give us a better close-up when you zoom in to see who it was that obviously took her."

However, when the video started playing this time from the different angle, it showed it just as Kelly Anne was being brought out of the hospital in a wheelchair. She was being pushed by the nurse who thought it proper to leave her out there on her own as they were waiting for whatever ride Kelly Anne called. I still couldn't get my mind around who would come to her aid.

"I thought you would like to see it from the beginning," Nathan spoke up right then, and I could tell he was a bit nervous by the tone of his voice.

I quickly glanced over at him with my eyes only, before nodding my head once that it was alright for the video to start at this particular point. He seemed to relax a bit, although slightly, swallowing a bit hard, knowing exactly how frustrated I was at this point. He had seen me angry many times before. They all had..., but it was nothing like this. This was overall different.

In this instance, this meant that somebody was taking something that didn't belong to them. The woman in question belonged to my wife's brother. No one deserved to touch her. No one... other than me when I deemed it necessary, as I was going to be the one who was going to make sure she learned a lesson. A hard lesson. Not to cross my family, wife to my brother or not.

Soon the nurse walked off, leaving Kelly Anne there alone.

"Now we'll see."
