Chapter 699 The Wedding Has Begun

Wendy didn't expect Qiana to be so direct. A bit surprised, she said to her, "Tom doesn't seem to have a girlfriend right now."

"Tom? What's his last name?" Qiana asked with interest.

"Adams. His name is Tom," Wendy asked tentatively, "Qiana, do you like him?"

"I think he looks pretty good. Getting to know him won't hurt. If things don't work out, we can still be friends," Qiana said casually.

Wendy and Pearl exchanged glances. From Pearl's expression, she was also quite surprised. She shrugged helplessly at Wendy, then took the dress and went with Qiana to the guest room to change.

Caspian came over and said, "This is the first time meeting your cousins. I'll treat them to dinner later and introduce them to the groomsmen, so it won't be awkward at the wedding."

"Sounds good," Wendy teased. "I think both of your cousins are more handsome than you. Standing between them, you really look old."

"Honey, are you serious?" Caspian unconsciously touched his face. "Do I really look that old? It's too late to change groomsmen now, right? How can they be more handsome than me? Won't they steal all the attention at the wedding?"

Seeing how serious he was, Wendy laughed. "Why are you taking this so seriously? They're several years younger than you, so of course they look younger. Honey, be confident. In my eyes, you're the most handsome man there!"

"What about Tom? When he stands next to me, which one of us looks older?" Caspian pressed on.

He could accept that his two younger cousins were more youthful and handsome, but he wouldn't allow Tom to outshine him too.

Wendy said, "Look how serious you are. He's older, he's older than you!"

"Really? I am quite a bit younger than Tom, right?" He said while stroking his chin, affirming to himself, "Although Tom is a few years younger than me, he's been abroad for so many years, so he definitely doesn't look as well-maintained as I am. I'm actually pretty handsome, right?"

"Honey, do you have to be this competitive?" Wendy said helplessly. "I'm going to remember this. I won't say these things to you anymore. Every time I do, you just obsess over it endlessly."

"Who wants to be upstaged by their groomsmen on their wedding day? I just have a bit of a crisis," Caspian said with a troubled face. "Honey, lend me a couple of whitening face masks. I need to do some emergency grooming."

"Fine, fine, fine, they're all yours. Be confident, honey, you're more handsome than Tom!"

As they were talking, the bridesmaids and groomsmen came out in their formal wear.

"Honey, who's your other bridesmaid again? Why isn't she here?" Caspian couldn't remember for a moment.

Wendy said, "Did you forget? The one Lillian introduced, Alexander's secretary, Shirley Wright."

"Right, her. How did I forget about her?" Caspian suddenly realized.

"Shirley is working overtime at the company today and couldn't come. She'll pick up the dress tonight," Wendy said, then walked toward Qiana and Pearl.

All the dresses fit well and didn't need alterations. After trying on the dresses, Caspian got ready to go eat. The group left the house, got in the car, and drove off.

They went out for a spicy Mexican meal and came back. After getting home, they took a shower and lay in bed playing on their phones.

"Honey, does Qiana like Tom? At dinner, she was really enthusiastic toward him," Caspian asked casually while playing a game on his phone.

Wendy said, "You're right. She specifically asked me today if Tom has a girlfriend. But I don't think Tom is interested in her. I don't think they'll make a match."

"What do you know? Qiana isn't an ordinary person. Maybe if she talks to Tom more, she'll succeed."

"It would be great if they did succeed. Doesn't Tom always want a girlfriend? He and Qiana are both single now, and Qiana's family background is similar to mine," Wendy joked.

"Let's not worry about it. Whether they can date or not has nothing to do with us."

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, it was Caspian and Wendy's wedding day.

Early in the morning, Lillian and Angela arrived early to help with things.

The makeup artist was doing her makeup, so she couldn't speak clearly. She mumbled, "Lillian, Angela, you two don't need to be busy. Sit here and chat with me."

Angela asked with a smile, "Are you nervous? It's okay, relax. It's just a wedding."

"Of course I'm nervous, okay?" Wendy glanced at her and said, "Angela, don't laugh at me. In a few months, it'll be your wedding. Let's see if you get nervous."

Angela said, "I definitely won't be nervous. A wedding is the happiest moment. I'll be too happy to even think about being nervous."

Lillian said to Wendy, "Wendy, don't listen to her. Reality will make her compromise. I totally understand you. Who doesn't get nervous at their wedding? I was very nervous too back then."

"Lillian, you really get me!" Wendy grabbed her hand.

Jessica came over with candy for them to eat. Soon after, the bridesmaids arrived too.

When Lillian and Shirley Wright saw each other, they screamed with joy and gave each other a big hug, neither willing to let go first.

"Shirley, I missed you so much!"

"Lillian, me too!"

One busy with family and career, the other a working professional—they usually just greeted each other on Facebook or liked each other's posts, nothing more. They hadn't seen each other in a long time.

They stood properly, looked at each other, and finally burst out laughing.

"Lillian, how long has it been since we've seen each other? Looking at how happy you are, life must be treating you well, right?"

Lillian proudly flipped her hair and said, "Don't even get me started on how great things are."

"Look at you being all smug. You're not like your old gentle self anymore," Shirley said teasingly.

Lillian asked her, "How about you? Do you have a boyfriend?"

Shirley pouted and said, "I have so much work every day, where would I find time for a boyfriend? Lillian, tell your husband to be nicer to me. When he works, he's like a maniac, and he expects me to be just as crazy."

"I can't interfere with work matters. But if you really can't stand him, just yell at him a few times and let out your anger. It wasn't easy training you, so I doubt he'd dare fire you."

"Lillian, are you helping me or hurting me?" Shirley asked with amusement, taking it as a joke.

After Wendy finished her makeup, she went back to sit on the bed.

Pearl came over and asked, "Wendy, where should we hide the shoes? Somewhere really hidden?"
