Chapter 111 | Who is Edgar?

Chapter 111 | Who is Edgar?
Caroline didn't expect that even though Dexson was in poor health and had difficulty walking, he was still willing to cook and prepare breakfast.

"Dexson, you're sick. You shouldn't be doing this and getting up early to prepare breakfast," said Caroline.

"It's okay, dear, I'm happy to prepare breakfast for you. Now eat, do you need me to feed you?" asked Dexson with a slight smile.

"No. You have to eat too. Let's eat together," replied Caroline, gently refusing Dexson.

It turned out that what Kael said was true, Dexson didn't even care about himself and chose to take good care of her.

"Okay. I hope you like my breakfast," said Dexson.

"Of course I like it. Your cooking is delicious," replied Caroline, making Dexson happy.

Caroline glanced at Dexson, who was also enjoying his breakfast. "Even though I'm feeling much better, Dexson still forbids me from doing housework, even if it's just cooking. Dexson is willing to endure the pain in order to take good care of me," Caroline clearly said to herself.

Soon after, they finished their breakfast.

"You can relax in your room first, I'll join you after I finish washing the dirty dishes," said Dexson.

Caroline didn't answer, and just watched Dexson cleaning the dining table.

Dexson almost dropped all the dishes because his legs were hurting so much. Caroline, who saw this, immediately rushed over to Dexson.

"Dexson, are you okay? Don't push yourself too hard. I'll help you sit down," said Caroline as she helped Dexson sit down.

"Sorry for worrying you. My leg suddenly started hurting badly," Dexson said with a look of regret.

"Maybe because I stood too long," he added.

Caroline sighed, because Dexson was apologizing to her. "Dexson. You don't need to apologize, and don't push yourself. Your leg injury will get worse," Caroline said, raising her voice slightly.

"I'll ask some of my servants to work here," she continued.

Dexson immediately rushed to hug Caroline, thinking that if there were other people around, Caroline might leave him.

"But don't even think about leaving me," said Dexson, looking imploringly at Caroline.

"No, Dexson. Didn't we promise to go to Singapore, and you would accompany me for treatment?" replied Caroline, gently stroking Dexson's head.

Dexson put on a happy face, because Caroline had no intention of leaving him.

"I told the maid to work here, so you don't have to do any housework. Especially since you're not feeling well, it could make your condition worse," Caroline explained as she gently stroked Dexson's cheek.

"All right. If you really don't intend to leave me, I don't mind having servants in this house," replied Dexson.

"If your leg gets worse, we might not be able to go to Singapore," muttered Caroline.

"No, dear. We will definitely go to Singapore. I'm sure my injury will heal in less than a week," said Dexson firmly.

"Then don't let your condition worsen," Caroline replied firmly.

"All right, dear. I'll obey you and let some servants work in this house," said Dexson.

"But I lost my cell phone. Can I borrow yours to call Jack? I can ask Jack to send two of his best servants to work in this house," said Caroline.

Hearing Jack's name made Dexson doubt Caroline again and think that she would run away with Jack's help.

"I'll just ask one of Kael's servants to work here. I happen to know them. They work well and are trustworthy," Dexson replied with a smile. More precisely, Dexson gently rejected Caroline's request. He didn't want Caroline to contact Jack.

"Is that okay, dear?" he continued, seeking Caroline's approval.

"It's up to you. If you feel more comfortable using Kael's maid to work here," replied Caroline.

Dexson looked at Caroline's face, which showed no objection. After that, Dexson took his cell phone to call Kael.

"Kael agreed, dear. Maybe the helper will be here soon," said Dexson with a smile.

"Okay," replied Caroline.

"Do you want me to help you to your room?" Caroline tried to offer herself to Dexson.

"Later, dear, while we wait for him to arrive," Dexson declined politely. Caroline just replied with a nod.

"Do you want to rest?" asked Dexson.

"I'll do that later too," replied Caroline with a slight smile.

Soon after, the maid arrived. She was a middle-aged woman. Dexson then gave her some tasks to do.

After that, Dexson and Caroline went to the room, with Caroline helping Dexson walk.

"You'd better ask the doctor to check you again, Dexson. Your leg looks a little swollen," said Caroline, looking at Dexson's leg.

Dexson, who didn't want his condition to worsen, obeyed Caroline's request and called the doctor, but then he remembered that if the doctor came and said his injury was getting worse, it would only make Caroline's condition worse.

"Looks like he's busy," Dexson said with an awkward chuckle, even though he hadn't contacted the doctor at all.

"I have to get treatment much faster, without Caroline knowing. It looks like Edgar can help me, even though it will definitely be very painful if he treats me. But I don't care, as long as I can recover quickly," Dexson muttered to himself.

"But how am I supposed to meet Edgar? I can't possibly ask him to come here. That's too dangerous," he continued.

"What are you thinking about, Dexson?" asked Caroline, who saw Dexson continuing to daydream.

"Nothing. I'm just thinking that the doctor is busy, maybe I'll contact him again later. You should just rest now," Dexson replied, rubbing Caroline's head.

"I have to do this. I'm sure Caroline won't leave me," Dexson said to himself, smiling at Caroline.
