Chapter 21

I was sitting in my room alone. I was getting impatient. Even my wolf was not helping me. I was feeling so lost.

I had not seen Chris since morning. Felix refused to tell me anything about him. I had only one choice left. Returning to my pack. Liliana was so fixed on taking me back. I did not know what she was actually thinking.

"Chris," I sighed calling his name. "Where are you? I really need you right now."

As time was passing, my wolf was getting impatient more and more. I was feeling a weird sensation. I was feeling that something was approaching towards this territory. Since my bond with Eris had weakened so much, I could not figure that out perfectly. But I could tell that he was neat. So, was Liliana telling the truth?

But what made him change so much? Why would he come for me? And what about Liliana? She was the key to everything. Letting her get away like this did not make sense.

It was almost evening. There was no sight of Chris. I was getting anxious. I came downstairs. Felix had given Liliana a room already. She was in her room. Felix was in the hallway cleaning the furniture as his usual routine. He did not even seem bothered about Chris.

"Felix," I called him. "Where is Chris?"

"My lord has gone to take care of some crucial tasks. He won't be coming back in a few days," he said casually.

My doubt was not cleared. "Crucial works? Then why did he not tell me about it? Why would he leave like this?"

“My lady," Felix stopped what he was doing for a moment and turned back.

"Do you think you can understand everything about vampires? Even though you are now officially his partner, yet we cannot forget that you are a wolf. We cannot reveal every detail about our ancient history to you, can we?" He asked.

Felix had never talked to me like this before. I was surprised by his words.

"Yes, sure," I said sadly.

The rest of the night I did not feel good. Liliana and Felix seemed unusually close.

I decided to look for Chris by myself. I could not trust what Felix said. Chris would never leave me like that. If he had something crucial to attend, he would at least tell me that he would be going somewhere.

I decided to look for Chris myself. I made sure Liliana was in her room. When Felix came upstairs to his room, I tiptoed and came out of the castle. I had no idea where to look for him. But I shifted and started running.

After running for a while, I could feel someone behind me. Someone was following me again.

I was thinking if I should fight them. But I was barely keeping my wolf in control. I did not know if she would listen to me or not.

I felt that it would not be a wise choice to fight in such an unstable state of my wolf. So instead, I kept running.

But I could not get away too far. I suddenly felt mana filled mana encircling my body. I was forced to shift back. In my human form, I was completely trapped within the mana circle. When I turned back, I saw a few witches coming out of the mist.

There was nothing I could do. Suddenly one of the witches touched my forehead with something and I started to feel dizzy. Before I could proceed, I fell to the ground unconscious.

How long it had been I had no idea. When I got back my consciousness, a familiar ceiling came into my view.

"Chris?" I screamed and looked around.

I was startled as my eyes fell on the couch. A familiar figure was sitting there casually. I took a good look around the room.

There was no doubt. I was brought back to the academy. And the man sitting in front of me was none other than my mate, alpha Eris.

I got up from the bed hastily. I was not able to remember how I ended up coming here. The last thing I remembered was the witches in the woods.

"Why am I here?" I asked him coldly.

"It has been a long time since we last had a conversation, Rose," he said casually.

"There was no reason for us to meet anymore, was there?" I asked him coldly.

“I know, Rose. You are mad at me. I deserve this," he got up from the couch.

He slowly came close to me. He caressed my face. I shoved his hand away. His touch was making me feel sick.

He looked hurt. “You can get mad at me as much as you want. Whenever I remember that you were touched by that sickening creature," saying so he clenched his jaw.

He suddenly pulled me close to him and said, “I realized that what I had done. It was not just about my wolf. I cannot live without my mate, Rose. I cannot bear anyone else having you."

Slowly his voice was getting husky. I was struggling under his grip. His wolf was taking over.

"How could you do this to me?" His wolf asked me. For the first time, I was talking with my mate wolf.

"My heart does not belong to you anymore, let me go please," I said while struggling.

He broke into laughter suddenly. His grip only tightened on my waist.

"Really? But your wolf is saying something else," he suddenly kissed my cheek. I tried to push him away. But I could not move him an inch. His strength was greater.

"This is not right!" I screamed.

"Why not?" His wolf said. His face started to go near my neck. I realized his intention. His wolf was looking forward to marking me.

"You are not within yourself! Get back to your senses! It's your wolf," I jerked him again.

Suddenly Eris was back to himself. But he did not let go of me either. "My wolf and I are not thinking separately, Rose. Unlike you, we both want our mate," he said.

I was losing my mind. I did not know how to get rid of this.
