Chapter 47 Untitled Chapter
Many years ago, an organization was formed by a sect that practiced dark magic, and it was named the DARK SHADOWS ORGANIZATION. They only practiced one thing: slaughtering.
They aimed to attack Packs, kill the leaders of the Pack, and take the Pack members under them. Those that were taken under them were turned into dark forces like them, hunting innocent wolves and killing them for their fetish interests.
The moon goddess, together with the other gods, gathered and wiped out the entire sect decades ago, and things have been peaceful since then.
But now, they are back, and Hams seems to be a part of them. They are dangerous and cunning and know how to lure their targets into their nests.
Am I next? Is that why Hams helped me get rid of Rowan? To get closer to me and then take out his real intention?
“Don't be paranoid, Amelia; calm down and think straight.” Amy sighed deeply, rolled her eyes, and scoffed.
But I can't control it; I know how dangerous that organization is. Although I wasn't born yet when they formed the first organization, the history my dad told me still lingers in my mind. I know how it works and how things will turn out later.
“What should we do now, Amy? Should we inform Hans about this?” I am so confused and don't know what to do next. Maybe telling Hans is good, or maybe it isn't good. But if I inform him now, wouldn't it be better? Then he can talk to his brother and maybe help him break that curse?
My dad, Alpha Brook, when he was alive, said, Whoever joined that sect, they must cast a spell on him, and he will take an oath to remain loyal to them; that is why they have the dark mark on their necks. And if they break the oath, they will pay with their dear lives, and all their generation will be wiped out.
Ham's presence in that organization isn't a good thing; it is going to affect Hans, too. They are twins, and even though they aren't on good terms nor closer to each other as twins should be, they still share the same genes and feel pain when one is in pain.
“How should we go about it?” Air escaped with each word, making my tone sound airy and unsteady.
“You are smart, Amelia. Think about it; I believe you can come up with something good.”
Amy is just not going to help me now. Isn't she the one who is always coming up with smart ideas? Well, that is not a problem. I will tell Hans about it, and he will know what to do.
Towards the evening, when I was back in the Packhouse and Hans was back from the meeting I sent him to represent me, I told him what I saw on Ham’s back. And fortunately, he knows about the story too, and just like me, he paced around the room nervously.
“Hams is going to wipe out that Pack, Amelia; he will destroy the Pack our parents left us,” he gasped, covered his face, and paused in the middle of the room. “Amelia, I think I should go to the Arkonix Pack and have a word with my brother. Perhaps he will listen to me, and then we can break the curse before it overwhelms him.”
That is a good idea, and I hope Hams listens to him. He is strong-headed, and now that the curse has been cast on him, it will be so difficult to talk him out of it.
But how did it even happen? Is it because he has Rowan transfer all his magic to him? Rowan was part of that sect. I saw the same dark mark on his neck when his corpse was about to be burned in the forest.
I didn't take it seriously then because I thought it was just something the rogues do until I saw it on Ham's neck.
“Hams can do anything to acquire magic. He has been obsessed with it since we were growing up. When he discovered that our mum, Luna Elaine, could do magic, he had been hoping he could one day get it too. I am sure that was why he tricked Rowan into transferring his magic to him.” He sat down and exhaled.
“You know what?” He got up, picked up his phone from the bedside, and pressed it on. “I will give him a call.”
Call? I prefer they talk face-to-face. That way, Hams might understand him.
“I just want to know when he will be available so we can talk.”
When he called, Hams didn't answer his call, but Hans didn't give up. He continued calling him, and Hams kept cutting the call.
Hans got upset, tossed the phone on the bed, and turned towards me. “The jerk isn't answering my call,” he cursed, sitting down on the bed again. “And I am done calling him. If he likes, he can keep on being together with the cursed sect, as the cursed Alpha he is. But one thing is sure: he will never succeed in harming the Arkonix Pack’s members!” Anger radiated through his tone, words tumbling out in a furious torrent.
Ahh! These twins and their way of hurting each other. What is the big deal if he answers his twin brother’s call? They just hate each other so much, and Hams’ hatred towards Hans is the worst.
“I will call him; he might answer my call.”
I reached for my phone from the dressing table, but Hans told me not to bother calling him.
“I have to, Hans; he will answer my call.”
“I know, but do not call him. I don't want him to hear your voice.” He sounded so jealous, and that made me giggle.
Why be jealous when he knows that it is he whom I love now?
I ignored him, dialed Hams’ number, and on the first ring, he answered.
“Why are you ignoring Hans’ call? He has something important to talk to you about,” he scoffed over the phone, “because I don't know why he wants to talk to me. What does he want? Tell me instead; I know you know.”
“Get your head straight and answer your brother’s phone, dude. I won't tell you anything; you should hear it directly from him.”
I disconnected the call, and my gaze fell on Hans, who was glaring at me like a predator.
