Chapter 88 What's Your Name?
Chapter 88 What's Your Name?
No one had ever come inside Mikhail's room. No one. Not even a single soul had dared to Mikhail linger around the area of his room.
He cleaned and arranged his room himself. Anything that needed to be done or fixed, he did it himself. Surviving alone had taught him a lot of things and that was being handy.
Yet, this little fragile woman was sleeping on his bed like she owned it while he sat on a chair watching the soft rise and fall of her chest.
For the second time she owned his bed. Her soft brown hair sprawled on his pillows and his chest constricted.
He watched her like a man would his painting, eyes tracing every tiny detail it caught.
It had only been a few hours, since he had saved her and yet, she was already sizzling under her skin, searing her body like hot water and it made his uncomfortable.
Who was she? How did she get so beaten like that? He pondered, a frown coming to settle between his eyebrows.
Maybe he should have let her to bleed to death after all it wasn't the first time a lady was dying in front of him. Countless times and he had turned a blind eye to each of them.
The bed made a soft rustling sound as she shifted under the sheets, followed by a breathless whimper that made her knees curl upwards to her chest, her brows drawing together in pain.
Unable to withstand the pain, her eyes snapped open followed by a scream that screeched in Mikhail's ears when her black eyes caught his icy blue ones.
"What the fuck are you doing here? Why are you here?" She asked, her eyes going wild.
An incredulous look marred his face, he let out a scoff, "This is my room and you're laying on my bed, snuggling under my sheets. You don't get to ask me what I'm doing here." His voice was calm, measured unlike before when he screamed at her face to get out of his house.
The walls around the room drew closer as he stood from the seat with deliberate manliness, hands fixed in his trousers pocket as he walked closer to her.
Leaning just enough he could only breathe in her fresh feminine scent, he grabbed her chin, pitching her face closer to his.
Painful gasp choked at the base of her throatz her stomach aching.
Mikhail was astound by his rather brash behavior. Why had he grabbed her chin?
"What's your name?" His voice came out very smooth and crisp.
She liked it. She loved it.
She knew it was him— her soulmate.
Instantly an angry frown morphed on her face as she remembered the wall he had spoken to her before.
Rolling her eyes at him, she slapped his hands away, "Why do you want to know my name all of a sudden? You shouted at me. You told me you didn't want to know anything about me."
"I still don't."
"And you asked for my name." She threw him an angry questioning glance.
"To contact your family. You're not going to become a liability to me. It's worthless and pointless and more exhausting already to have you sleep on my bed."
She should still be angry but she wasn't. Instead, she smirked, then held the front of his shirt, and dragged him closer to her face.
Inhaling his scent, she moved closer to him, itching their lips closer.
"Kiss me." She teased.
Mikhail's cold eyes suddenly dimmed.
What was she doing?
"Don't throw yourself at strangers, little girl. I might just bundle you and sell you off."
Aware it was ridiculous to have asked such a question, she reiterated. "You won't kiss me?"
"No." His voice harsh and rough.
She released a deflated sigh and pushed him away, throwing her legs off the bed then stood to her feet.
"With the way you were gripping my jaw, I almost thought you wanted to stick your tongue deep inside my throat."
His eyes bulged. Why would she even think that?!
Mikhail didn't know whether it was anger, but he knew he felt something coursing through his veins at her words.
He took two steps backwards.
Then looked down on her because he was physically taller than her.
She didn't care, she folded her arms right under her chest.
The pain coursing around her had subsided, leaving only a phantom pain she felt at minute intervals.
"Like I asked previously, what is your name? Or better still your home address. You need to be sent back to your family. You won't stay here."
"Huh! What makes you think I want to stay in the soulless room or rather this empty and cold mansion with you," she paused taking a deep breath then continued,
"Well... I know for certain you're the one who hurt me—"
"I didn't—"
"Shhh..." She placed her hands on his lips, then pushed herself closer to him so that his cinnamon scent was leaking into her skin.
"The car that hit me belonged to you, and you saved me as you should. But right now I can't give you my personal information. I don't even know who you are. So why don't you start by telling me YOUR own name."
The temperature in the room turned hotter.
Mikhail's blood was bubbling hot while all she wanted to do was trap him in her web.
At first sight, she knew she wouldn't let him go for anything.
Mikhail slapped her fingers away, "You have no single right to negotiate with me!"
"Ow! Ow!! You hurt me! Ah! Ahh!!" She cried, forcing tears to form at the back of her eyes.
She bit down on her lips hard then clenched her not so painful stomach as if she were in pain.
"Ouch! You rude mister! You should be saving me, not hurting me!" She pouted then took Mikhail by surprise,
She immediately jumped on him, the force sending him to crash down on the chair he was previously sitting on.
She straddled him, placing her small hands on his chest.
His breathing grew harsher and harsher when he couldn't remember the last time a woman had touched him.
This troublesome girl had no shame at all. Touching his body without a care.
"Be responsible for me." She said abruptly.
"W-What?" He stammered, clearing his throat, then motioned to push her away when she wrapped her arms around his neck,
"You hurt me. You have to be responsible."
"Responsible?"
"Y-Yes." She nodded.
"Your name?" He asked again.
"If I tell you my name, you will have to do something for me."
"No! Now get off of me! This is an assault, little girl."
Mikhail didn't even realize his body was going rigid, his breathing had turned harsher and his blue eyes held a bit of anxiety.
This troublesome girl was quite bold. She didn't even know who he was and yet, she was straddling him.
She could be quite demanding,
He began sounding tough, "If you don't tell me your name right now, I will kill you—"
"You're not a killer," she cut in, "You're a good man. You saved me. So stop acting tough and make this easier for me. You're not a baby." She dismissed his threats as though they weighed nothing.
She didn't know the truth yet. All she could see was just a man who was ridiculously handsome and smelt like the man of her dreams.
He corked an eyebrow, then said, "Mikhail Morozov."
"Hm, what's that?" She asked staring in admiration at his blue eyes.
"You wanted to know my name. That's my name."
"Gotcha!" She chuckled hysterically then immediately clamped her lips shut.
Mikhail stiffened at the sound of her laughter. It was loud and free like she didn't have any worries left in this cruel world.
He no longer struggled with her holding or straddling him.
His eyes were set on her brown hair framing her perfect cheeks while having the loveliest black eyes he had ever set eyes on.
Then she said, "Serah."
"My name is Serah Jerkins."
