Chapter 78 - Daffodil was Taken

I

Daffodil requested for a coffee from an omega maid that they passed by while going to the lanai area. Just a few moments after being seated on the lanai couch, the omega maid arrived with two cups of coffee for Daffodil and Dixon.

“So, how are you feeling Daff that your wedding is just a day away?” Dixon asked to start the conversation. On the side, his ears were well alert while waiting for the go signal that was told to him by Drew.

Daffodil smiled, her eyes starting to light up with excitement. “I am getting excited Dixon but a bit nervous too. Maybe this is the so-called wedding jitters.” She looked at Dixon and smiled.

“Are you really sure about your decision of getting married to Lexus and stay here for good? How about your business in Los Angeles and your parents, Daff?” Dixon was trying to put a certain doubt in Daffodil’s mind, but the latter smiled and patted his shoulder.

“I should not worry about that. Lexus is willing to let me visit Los Angeles anytime I wanted and when I am needed there. My heart belongs to Lexus, Dixon, so anything that seemed to be hard will be just easy. Love makes all things easy and possible. I hope one day, you will find that woman too, where you can say that love makes things easy and possible,” Daffodil said with her smile unfading.

Just as Daffodil finished speaking, they heard the howling of a wolf nearby. Daffodil’s forehead furrowed and as she looked at Dixon, she was surprised that he was beside her already and in one swift motion, he covered her mouth with a cloth. After a few moments, Daffodil’s vision became blurry until darkness enveloped her.

Dixon immediately carried Daffodil and was shocked to see the guards nearby all dead, lying on the ground. He was able to reach the gate without any trouble, and there he saw a gray car waiting for him. A man was in the driver’s seat and motioned for him to hurry up in getting inside the car.

The moment he settled inside the car together with Daffodil, the car drove off with great speed, away from the pack house.

Meantime, inside his room, Lexus was already alerted that something wrong was happening outside. He mind linked his Alpha Father who readily replied to him.

“Lexus, we were attacked by rogues. They killed the gate guards and others posted around the packhouse. Only a few guards have been left.” Alpha Daedos readily mind linked back to Lexus.

Lexus’ heart pumped so rapidly. He then runs first into Daffodil's room. “Daff!” he called as he entered the room, but Daffodil was not there. He tried to mindlink her but he could not reach her. Her mind linking portal has been closed. His heart’s beating became more rapid as his instinct was telling him that something wrong is happening to Daffodil.

“Lexus, we need your help here,” Alpha Daedos’ message through mindlink reached Lexus again. He runs out of Daffodil’s room after shifting himself into his wolf form upon catching up his Alpha father’s message.

A few minutes in travel, Dixon noticed Daffodil’s sudden chilling of the body and the darkening of her lips. Her body was shaking and he panicked out of fear.

“Hey, hey, what is happening to Daffodil?” Dixon shouted at the man driving the car, who immediately stopped the car beside the street and looked at Daffodil thereafter.

“Effect of the wolfsbane that she inhaled,” the man then said after a while. He seemed relaxed ‘though that made Dixon’s forehead furrow.

“What now?” Dixon asked with ferocity.

“Nothing to worry about. She will not die. She only inhaled the wolfsbane and it did not get into her blood.” After that, the man drove the car speedily again.

Dixon and Daffodil were brought into a big house, which seemed to be secluded and nearby a mountain. Dixon was hesitant to get out of the car at first as he could feel something was not safe for them in the said place. Nonetheless, he has no other recourse when the driver parked the car and opened the door beside him.

“Get out man and let your woman take at least a glass of warm water and then let her rest in the room thereafter,” the man instructed Dixon and motioned for him to follow.

With Daffodil in his arms, Dixon followed the man inside the big house. Dixon noticed that a number of bulky men with firearms were scattered around the premises. A sudden fear crept through his senses again.

Dixon followed the man until they reached a door at the far end right side of the mansion.

“Get inside. A maid will be bringing the warm water in a minute.”

Following the man’s order, Dixon got inside the room and laid Daffodil on the bed.

Just after a few seconds that the man left them, a maid with a glass of warm water came in. Dixon tried to make Daffodil, who seemed to be a little bit sober already, drink the warm water. Thereafter, he laid her on the bed again and watched her. She appeared to have fallen asleep again.

Dixon laid his body on the sofa nearby the bed and without him noticing it, he also fall asleep. He was awakened when he felt a tap on his face.

“Dixon, where are we?” It was Daffodil who looks fine already.

Surprised, Dixon immediately woke up. “Daffodil, are you alright now?” he asked worriedly.

“Yes, I am Dixon, except that I am a bit dizzy. Where did you take me? What is this, Dixon?” Daffodil’s tone was calm but her golden orbs were deeply looking at Dixon.

“Daffodil, I am sorry.”

“Tell me, Dixon, why did you betray me like this?” Daffodil’s eyes are now squinting.

“Daff, I am sorry but Drew threatened me. He will kill me if I won’t do what he demanded me to do. We are both victims here,” Dixon suddenly thought of an excellent alibi.

“Drew?” Daffodil was surprised.

“Yes. He cornered me when I was trying to relax in the garden last night. I was even too afraid as he was a wolf when he blocked my way. I thought he was going to gobble me at that time.” Dixon continued his half-lie.

Daffodil looked at Dixon again with obvious doubt in her expression.

“Believe me Daff. I cannot do something that will harm you. You know that, right?” Dixon said in a pleading voice.

Daffodil did not reply to Dixon, instead, she went to the window and checked around. “We need to get out of here Dixon. We are in danger,” she then said while looking at Dixon with worry.

“How, Daff?” Dixon who was really worried too asked Daffodil. Like Daffodil Dixon could also sense that there is something not right in this place.

“Leave it to me, Dixon. Just hold my hand now!” Daffodil then closed her eyes the moment Dixon hold her right hand. She tried to concentrate. Teleporting is one of those abilities that she could do but the most difficult one as it takes so much concentration and could drain her mind when being used frequently.

They were at that momentum when the door of the room suddenly opened.
