💠 Chapter 65 💠

Brianna’s POV

Instead of those guys to heed to my warning, they moved closer in an attempt to attack me. I didn’t want to fight in public so I just asked the guards to deal with them instead. After we were done, we went to the company.

The workers bowed politely as they walked past me and I bowed slightly in return. I soon got to Ryan’s office and I realized he had a busy schedule that day coupled with the fact that I had to check the other branches and follow up on everything they do.

By the time I was done for the day, I was so tired. I was also able to secure the contract that Ryan was about to sign yesterday before he got into an accident.

I went to the mansion to shower before returning to the hospital where I was going to spend the night with Ryan. Fortunately, he was safe and sound when I got there so the bodyguards went on a shift and guarded the hospital the entire night.

*Next day*

I got a call from the detective whom I asked to look into Ryan’s accident just when I was about leaving Ryan’s ward and I hurriedly picked his call.

“Good morning ma” he greeted

“Morning sir. Were you able to find anything?” I asked

“We looked into the cctv but the footage from that day was deleted already” he said

“That only makes it more suspicious. You are going to keep investigating right?” I asked

“Of course ma’am! I just thought I should inform you about our progress” he said

“No problem, thank you for your hard work” I said and ended the call

The person behind this accident must be someone powerful but who could it be? Ever since I met Ryan, I’ve not seen him have an argument with someone not to talk of getting into a fight with anyone so who will want to get rid of him?

Could it be one of the ladies he has had sex with? Mia suddenly disappeared on the day of her wedding with Ryan so it might be her, but I really don’t think so. What if it’s someone from the mafia? Ryan has a lot of enemies there so it might be one of them.

I can’t just wait for the police to investigate what happened, I also need to find out for myself. It looks like I will be taking a huge risk if the police fail to find the culprit soon.

As I got into the car heading to the mansion again that morning, I notice I was being followed. The guys from yesterday have been taken to the mansion already and I ask the guards to put them in the torture room.

I couldn’t interrogate them yesterday because I was too busy and I still had to go to the hospital so I plan to interrogate them today. Now again, another set of guys are following me and I feel totally frustrated.

I didn’t let them catch up with us this time around. After taking my bath, I went to the company and started the day’s work. I was done in no time so I returned to the mansion in the afternoon to deal with those guys myself.

“I’m just going to ask my question once. If you don’t answer me or you don’t give me a satisfying answer, you will pay for it. Let’s begin” I said and sat down

“Who asked you to follow me?” I asked the first guy

After waiting for about two minutes and not hearing anything from him, I signaled one of the guards.

“Leg” I said

The guard got the message and shot his left leg and I stood up. The guy that was shot was screaming already but I couldn’t care less. If they dared to harm Ryan, they should have been prepared to face my wrath. I can be really sweet but I can also be anyone’s worst nightmare.

“For every question that you refuse to answer or don’t answer correctly, you will be shot at any part of your body I order them to. Where should I go for next? I guess I will think about that. Next question! Did you hit Ryan with the bus?” I asked

“No, I didn’t! I swear I never even went out that day, I don’t know anything about it” he quickly said

“Hmm…. Your answer isn’t satisfying but I’ll just let it slide since you answered at least. Next! Why were you following me?” I asked

He refused to answer this time around so I signaled the guard and he shot both hands this time.

“You really don’t know who you’re dealing with right? I’m sure you think I’m just a little girl so you’re underestimating me. Not to worry, I will show you what I’m capable of. The moment I ask you the next question and you refuse to answer, I will be going for that thing in between your leg.

Don’t think I can’t do it because that will be your biggest mistake ever. Remember that I only need to say the word, and even if you try to answer after the time is up, I won’t spare you then. If you had succeeded in taking me, what were you going to do to me? You have just two minutes to answer and your time starts now” I said and raised the stopwatch for him to see

When it was remaining forty-five minutes left, I showed him again and he began to panic.

“I… We were going to….” The guy already started talking when a guard came in

“Ma’am! Sir Justin is here to see you” the guard said and I stood up

“Justin is here to see me? Well, I have important things to take care of right now so tell him to wait. Or better still, he can come back later” I shrugged

“He said it’s really important and he has to see you right now” the guard insisted

“Can’t you see that I’m busy? Who do you serve? Is it Justin or me?” I scoffed

“I’m sorry ma’am” he said and moved back

I was about taking my gaze back to the guy that was kneeling when someone barged in, making me look back again.

“Wow! You are finally showing your true colours now that Ryan is in a coma. What? You can’t wait for Ryan to die so you can take over the cartel? Now that I think about it, you are the one that is going to benefit the most from Ryan’s death and you came here just in time. Correct me if I’m wrong” I said

“Ma’am Brianna, I don’t know what you are talking about” he said

“This just proves that my guess is correct. You are calling me ma’am Brianna? I don’t even have time for your nonsense right now. Just get lost because I have something important to do” I said angrily

“I really have something important to say, can you listen to me first?” he asked

“I’m not interested. Guys take him out!” I ordered and walked away from him

Just when I had almost gotten to where I was sitting, I heard two gunshots and surprisingly, it turned out to be those guys I caught that were shot.
