Brianna’s POV
My eyes widened in shock as I stared at the two guys who were the key to finding out who made Ryan that way. They were obviously dead as they lay on the floor, looking lifeless.
“Who the hell did that?” I asked enraged as I turned around
I didn’t need an answer because I saw a gun with Justin and it was pointed in the exact direction of those guys.
“What did you just do?” I asked walking up to him
He sighed and kept the gun in his pocket while I felt anger surge through my body. I couldn’t contain my anger anymore so I slapped him. He was more than surprised and even all the guards were shocked too.
“What? Do you have something to say?” I asked in annoyance
“If Ryan was here, can you dare to do what you just did? But even if Ryan isn’t here, my presence is more than enough to make you think twice before doing anything stupid because Ryan gave me equal rights as his before he got into an accident. And do you know the meaning of what you just did? You just rebelled against Ryan Santiago and I’m sure you know what that means” I said
“Shouldn’t you ask me why I shot them in the first place? I got an information that they were going to lie about the person who ordered them to make Ryan get into an accident” he said while I scoffed
“Oh really? That was the dumbest excuse you could come up with? If I may ask, where did you get this intel?” I asked
“It was from an anonymous person” he said
“You got a letter from an anonymous person and you killed two people because of it? I never knew Ryan’s right hand man was so dumb. In fact, I don’t think I can ever find anyone as dumb as you are on this earth. First, the guys already said they knew nothing about Ryan’s accident. And secondly, you should have allow us hear whatever they had to say first before interrupting me. Or where you scared that they were going to mention your name? That’s the only meaningful explanation to me right now because the excuse you gave is cheap and worthless” I said
“W…what are you talking about?” he stuttered
“Come on now! Why are you stuttering? Don’t worry about a thing okay? Even though you got rid of these guys, I’m still going to get to the bottom of this and if I find who made Ryan this way, I will make sure he or she pays” I warned and walked out of the torture room
I’m going to be attending the cartel’s meeting tonight and put Justin in his place. I will show him that I’m not someone to mess with and what he just did tonight makes me more suspicious of him because I know Ryan won’t make just anyone his right hand man. It has to be someone he trusts and someone that is wise at least but the excuse Justin gave today is the dumbest I’ve ever heard.
Everywhere became dark in no time and I figured it was time to prepare for the meeting. Ever since Ryan has been in the hospital, time seem to pass quickly and I miss him more with each passing moment. I just hope he wakes up soon because I can’t handle all these for long.
After wearing an all-black outfit, I got into one of Ryan’s cars and drove to the cartel. I had to go without the driver since it’s a secret organization.
As I got inside, the members stood up and bowed respectfully. They didn’t dare raise their head until I ask them too and that’s because I proved myself worthy to be the leader of the cartel.
Ryan gave me the equal right he had as the leader a week before he got into the accident and that was after I had a duel with all the strongest members of the cartel and they all lost to me, including Justin.
“You can have your sit” I said but they all had to wait for me before they could sit
“As you all know, Ryan is in a coma right now so I will be taking care of the affairs here until he wakes up. I hope you guys will make him proud and not walk on the wrong path just because he’s in a coma right now” I said
We talked about many things and were about leaving the cartel already when I remembered I had to deal with Justin.
“I almost forgot that I have an important announcement to make. Justin, step forward” I ordered
The members of the cartel who had stood up before, sat down again just to hear what I had to say.
“Justin is going to be suspended of his duties from this moment forward. I know it’s too sudden considering the fact that I just started watching over the cartel but it’s an important decision I must take.
After Ryan recovers from his coma, I will explain to him and Justin will probably return to his position. For now, Matt will have to be the underboss until further notice” I announced
I could see Justin staring at me with rage and hatred but I ignored him and walked gracefully out of the hall. Since he’s daring me, I will show him what exactly I’m capable of. Besides, I don’t trust him and I never did from the start.
Now that Ryan isn’t here, this is my chance to get rid of all the bad people and set an example for others to see so that such mistake wouldn’t repeat itself.
As I got into my car and was about driving out of the cartel, Justin came out of nowhere and stopped me from leaving.
“What do you think you are doing?” I scoffed
“What does it look like? Just because you are the temporary boss now, you think you can just do whatever you like right? Ryan never suspected me or relieved me of my duties so how dare you do that?” he asked, gritting his teeth
Too many eyes were watching so he couldn’t dare to make any mistake unless he doesn’t want to live anymore.
“Well, you seem to be suffering from blindness is all I can say for now. If you look closely, you will realize I’m not Ryan and I’m completely different from him. I don’t do things the way he does them and you should know I already hated you from the start. It would be best if you keep your distance from now on or I will become your worst nightmare” I threatened and drove off almost running him over
I don’t really know why I hate Justin so much. I already hated him before he tried to rape me and it seems like my hatred towards him has multiplied now. There’s just this strange aura I feel around him so I don’t think he’s a good person. Anyway, I just need to find the culprit behind Ryan’s state and then I can clear my doubts.
If it really turns out to not be Justin, then I will apologize to him and even give up my authority in the cartel. But if it turns out to be Justin, he will pay in a hundred fold for betraying Ryan.
