***Genni POV***
Holding Trix's hand gently I could feel when the connection being made between human and animal. there would be a lot of explaining to do when Trixie woke up. I couldn't wait, if I was right then this woman would be a powerful wolf. One that will be linked to my family for a very long time.
I was still holding her hand when I felt a vibration. I held on a little tighter, waiting. Then I saw it, a light blue hue was coming from Trixie and slowly spreading over my arm. It tingled as it worked its way up my arm. I couldn't help the smile on my face as I felt the light spread to my chest.
It was like I could feel Trix's and Jewel's very soul held within my heart. I closed my eyes and willingly accepted the gift that Trix was giving me. Once the connection had solidified and settled I let go of her hand. I mind-linked Jonas and asked that he bring Evie to me. Without question, I heard his ''No problem'' straight away. Goddess how I loved that man. As Trix's rooms were only a stone's throw away from our apartment it didn't take Jonas long to arrive. He was carrying Evie who was snuggled so tightly into his chest I felt my heart melt.
''I'm not questioning you, but I would like to know why I had to lift our daughter from her comfy crib and come down here'' Jonas asked with his brows raised and a quizzical expression on his face. I smiled up at him with my arms out so I could hold Evie. Goddess I missed her when I wasn't with her. I placed my nose against the wisps of hair on her head and sniffed in the amazing baby smell. It wasn't feeding time yet but the little madam must have smelt my milk and started nuzzling. Jonas gave a soft chuckle as He watched our baby fussing for her food.
I was still sitting by the bed, Trix had relaxed now so I took the opportunity to give Evie a feed. Jonas had pulled up a stool and sat next to me, stroking Evvie's head. I looked at him, he looked at me. I adored this particular time of day. I could always see love shining through Jonas's eyes whenever he looked at me, but the looks took on a deeper meaning when I was feeding our child.
''I'm so proud of you baby'' he whispered in my ear. I moved my head around and captured his lips with mine. It was only a light kiss placed softly on his lips. But it was the kind of kiss that held all the feelings in your heart.
As we sat there nursing our baby I saw movement on the bed. luckily Evie had finished her top-up so Jonas took the baby from me and placed her on his shoulder whilst he rubbed gentle circles on her back, tapping it from time to time.
I watched the bed, Trixie was coming out of the trance I had put her under. I stood up and went to sit on the side of the bed, as Trixie opened her eyes I saw the flash of blue shine through before the coloured settled back on her usual green. Trixie moved her eyes until they fell on me, tears sprung up on her eyelids and I could see a tear running down the side of her cheek. I brushed it away ''Hey there beautiful'' I said softly.
***Trixie POV***
The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was my Luna. I wasn't aware I was crying till she wiped a tear from my cheek. I sat up slowly, listening to her call me beautiful. Before I could push the compliment away I heard a soft voice in my head 'We are beautiful, always have been'. I smiled at my Luna. She opened her arms to me and I almost fell into them. I couldn't help the tears that followed, the only words I could get out were ''I have a wolf, your Grace. I have a wolf''!
I pulled myself back from her Grace, she in turn raised from the bed and went to stand by the Alpha, who I didn't even realise was still her, I bowed to them both and showed my neck as a mark of respect.
Before anything else was said I rushed in with ''I have a wolf, your Grace. She is beautiful. a large black wolf but she has crimson red markings on her paws, ears and tail''. The sentence came out in a rush and I could hear the Alpha chuckle, the sound made me blush. I smiled shyly back ''I'm sorry, I'm just so excited to finally be a part of this wolf pack''. The Alpha stepped forward as I said this and said softly but firmly ''You have always been a member of this pack, our pack. we will talk about your childhood soon, I think there is a more important issue that needs addressing first'' he sent a quick look to his Luna and I saw her nod.
''Are you up for talking now, Trix?'' the Luna asked me. I nodded my head so fervently I thought it might rock off my shoulders. Laughing at my antics the Luna suggested we move from my bedroom to my little living area. I agreed at once. To my surprise, there was a crib already sitting next to one of my sofas. The Luna placed Evie into in and I felt a pang within me. It felt like a twang of an elastic band as I looked at my charge. I had always felt a connection with baby Evie, I think on some level that was why I got the job as a Nanny.
''Trix, come stand by the crib and tell me what you feel'' her Grace asked. The closer I got to the baby the deeper I felt the twang, my heart rate sped up and I could feel a kind of buzzing in my veins. shocked I looked toward my Alpha and Luna, a look of apprehension on my face ''What's happening'' I whispered. The response was from Luna asking again how I felt. I looked down at the baby, she was such a beautiful little thing, I felt Jewel press forward to look at the baby as well. When this happened something else went off inside my body.
It felt like a hot stone had been placed in my chest, it didn't hurt. It felt quite nice. I could feel the heat starting to spread from my chest and creep its way till my whole body was engulfed. I knew I should be looking at the Luna for guidance but I couldn't stop looking at my hands and arms, which had a light blue hue to them. I did look at my Luna then ''What's happening your Grace, what should I do? I'm engulfed by a heat. It's all over my body. It doesn't hurt'' I said quickly. I could see the huge smile on the Luna's face and a slightly perplexed one on the Alpha's.
***Genni POV***
I could see the apprehension in Trix, I knew that she must be a little freaked out. Having only met her wolf a while ago and now this. I decided to tell her straight away. ''What was the point of waiting'' I thought and Sapphire agreed with me.
''Trix, please place your hands on the baby'' As soon as I said this Trix's head whipped around to look at me ''No Luna, I would hurt the baby'' I breathed out. ''On the contary, Please'' I gestured to my baby. Trix hesitantly moved her hands toward the baby, I felt Jonas come up behind me. I could feel the tension coming off him. This was his child, his cub. I reached for his hand and held it in mine. I felt my mate relax as soon as we touched 'I trust you completely' his mind linked me.
Trix looked at me as she was mere inches away from Evie, still unsure written all over her face. I urged her on until I could see her hands touch the baby. As soon as contact between them was made the light blue hue that I had seen coming from her body started to expand. I could hear Trix gasp and start to pant with fear ''It's alright Trix, this is supposed to happen. Relax and let it flow from you and Jewel''. I watched as the blue hue started to surround the crib, when it was completely within the light it stopped expanding.
I was so pleased, so filled with joy and my darling mate had just realised what was happening and I could hear his audible gasp. I could see his eyes shine with unshed tears as he looked toward the young woman and his child.
''Did you know'' he asked breathlessly.
''Not until Sapphire went looking for her wolf, I knew Trix had a wolf, I could sense her. But Trixie was adamant that she didn't have one. When Sapphire found Jewel she realised immediately what and who Trix was destined to become.
I knew Trixie was listening to everything I told my mate and I could see questions burning in her blue eyes ''You can stop touching the baby now, Trix. Please, come and sit. I think explanations are overdue''. I waited until Trix had stood back from the crib and saw the blue light fade from around the baby before asking her to sit down. She did so at once, sitting on the edge of the sofa.
''I know I should tell you how and why you now have a wolf but I think an explanation as to why you project a colour field from your body. And if I'm not mistaken why you now seem to have a physical bond with Evie''.
Trix's eyes were like saucers in her face as she looked at me expectantly ''Have you heard of a spirit wolf''? I continued when I saw the shake of Trix's head ''A spirit wolf is a being that attaches to one life and acts as a guardian and protector. They have the ability to call upon powers that allow them to protect their charge. They are always female, they are always placed with a Baby whom the Goddess deems important. Do you understand so far" I asked, I could see the shock and awe all over Trix's face, she was also trembling a little. Jonas got up and placed a comforter around her shoulders. Trix grabbed onto it like a lifeline.
''Luna'' Trix said with a trembling voice ''Are you saying that Jewel and myself are one of these wolves? We have powers? I don't fully understand''.
My heart reached out to her, she did look shellshocked so I decided to put it another way.
''Trix, you and Jewel have been bonded to Evie for life eternal. You will now act as her guardian angel. They are fierce warrior spirits. They protect. YOU protect. You protect and guide our little girl'' As I finished speaking I grasped Jonas's hand tighter.
''You my darling girl are a spirit wolf''.
***Trix POV***
I couldn't take it all in at first. What my Luna was telling me. I had powers, I was a special type of wolf. I was here to protect and guide Evie alongside her parents. It was too much. I was trying to take in all that was said when my brain landed on one word. Looking at my Luna I said breathlessly ''Spirit, what does mean''? I thought I knew, it was the reason I could enter my Luna's realm. It was the reason I could talk face-to-face with Jewel. I was a spirit!!
