Chapter 50 Backing Her Up
Chapter 50 Backing Her Up
To prevent Clayton from misunderstanding, she quickly explained.
"Patrick was my mother's student. He's quite renowned internationally. I haven't painted in so long, I'm worried I won't do well. If he's there, he can give me some guidance."
Hearing this, Clayton nodded graciously.
"Fine. But I haven't decided which day yet. I'm just giving you a heads up - when the day comes, whether it's windy, thundering, raining, or snowing, you must come. Understand?"
Seraphina nodded seriously.
At that moment, their agreement was sealed.
After confirming, Clayton walked to a drawer, took out a bottle of medicine, and handed it to Seraphina.
"Alright, now get going. Don't disturb my experiments!"
Seraphina hurried to leave.
Before going, she still remembered to bow.
However, just as Seraphina's figure completely disappeared from the research institute, Clayton sighed.
He turned around, picked up his phone, and dialed a number.
"Come pick me up. I'm getting ready to go back."
After saying that, he hung up.
Half an hour later, in front of the research institute that had been quiet and almost deserted, over twenty luxury cars were now neatly parked.
A group of elegantly dressed men and women got out of the cars and rushed straight into the laboratory.
Seeing Clayton, they cried uncontrollably.
"Dad, you're finally willing to go back and stop guarding this shabby research institute! If you like doing experiments, I'll build you one at home - it's just a few hundred million, our family can afford it!"
Another dignified woman nodded repeatedly.
"That's right, Dad. The cars are all ready outside. Let's hurry back..."
Hearing this, Clayton put his hands behind his back, went outside to look, and his face immediately darkened.
"Why did so many people come? Tell them all to get lost. Just you few stay."
He reached out and pointed to several of his children.
Those pointed at were flattered, while the others had no choice but to follow orders and immediately left dejectedly.
In just a moment, the entrance to the research institute became much more spacious.
In the laboratory, Clayton's children fussed over him, eager to take him home right away.
Unexpectedly, Clayton flatly refused.
"When did I ever say I was going back with you today?"
Hearing this, they looked at each other, and all turned to look at Oscar Turner.
"Oscar said so."
Seeing everyone pointing at him, Clayton's eldest son Oscar could only quietly lower his head.
"Dad, if you're not going back now, when will you go back?"
"If nothing unexpected happens, it should be at the end of this month."
As Clayton spoke, he waved his hand, signaling them to come close like when they were young.
"I called you here because I have something to tell you..."
Then, he lowered his voice and told them what was on his mind.
Hearing this, everyone was stunned, but moments later they regained their composure!
"We understand, Dad. Don't worry."
After getting their response, Clayton sent them away.
Only after all the cars had disappeared from sight did he put his hands behind his back and slowly walk back to the laboratory, step by step.
As he walked, thinking of the ridiculous and hateful Talbot Group, he couldn't help but curse under his breath.
"Just some nouveau riche who rose up in recent years, and they really think they're invincible? How dare they bully Seraphina so recklessly!"
"And Michael - a gentleman on the outside, a monster within!"
"This time I'll show you all that with me protecting her, let's see who dares to bully Seraphina!"
As Clayton spoke, he angrily slammed the table, fury blazing in his eyes.
After getting the medicine, Seraphina went to find Michael right away.
This time going to the Talbot Group, the journey was smooth and unobstructed. She placed the medicine in front of Michael.
A small glass bottle containing about a month's supply of medicine, with no introduction or even instructions.
This was Michael's first time seeing the medicine for treating Bianca's stomach pain.
He picked it up and examined it, his brow furrowing slightly.
"Are you sure this medicine is real?"
Seraphina laughed coldly: "I'm not so bored that I'd go find a fake medicine just to deceive you. This medicine is real."
"If you don't believe me, you can ask your mother!"
Her expression didn't change, but there was a hint of anger in her eyes - she really didn't look like she was lying.
A dark glint flashed in Michael's eyes as he closed his hand around the medicine bottle.
"If that's the case, come back to the estate with me."
Seraphina nodded: "Fine, but I hope you'll also keep your word and release Wendy!"
The Talbot Family estate.
Michael had been busy with work these past few days and had sent Janna to the estate again.
Although Bianca didn't like Janna, as long as there were no other children around and Janna was reasonably well-behaved, she generally wouldn't make things difficult for her.
But Janna had been too well protected by Seraphina. From childhood to adulthood, she had never realized that Bianca didn't like her at all.
So she kept crying and complaining in front of her.
"What? That damned woman won't come home, and now she's abandoned you to take care of someone else's child?!"
Bianca's voice suddenly rose sharply, fury blazing in her eyes.
She was angry at Seraphina, but Janna thought Bianca was feeling sorry for her.
Crying, she kept talking.
Especially thinking about that day at the amusement park when Seraphina had abandoned her and chosen Alicia, she cried even harder.
"That day at the amusement park, Mom was playing with her. I wanted Mom to come back, but she wouldn't. She even said she'd rather have Alicia than me. She abandoned me and Dad."
"Alicia isn't a good kid. Every day she tells me what delicious food Mom made for her, and she even hits me, saying she'll never let Mom come back to me!"
The more Bianca listened, the angrier she became, her body trembling uncontrollably.
That damned Seraphina actually went to be a nanny for someone else's family?
How utterly shameless!
Because of Seraphina, she looked at Janna with even more disgust, cursing through gritted teeth.
"Your damned mother really won't stop until she's completely humiliated us. How could I have let Michael marry such a wife!"
Erica, listening nearby, also frowned, breaking off half an orange and stuffing it in her mouth.
"Exactly. If my friends find out that Seraphina is working as someone's nanny, I won't be able to show my face in high society anymore!"
Janna sobbed, confusion appearing in her eyes.
She had said these things hoping Bianca and Erica would comfort her, so why did they want to curse Seraphina instead?
After hesitating for a moment, she secretly pinched marks on her arm, then pitifully extended it.
"Look, this is where Alicia pinched me."
Just as they were about to lean in for a closer look, a servant walked in.
"Mrs. Bianca Talbot, Mr. Talbot and Mrs. Seraphina Talbot are back!"
