Chapter 37 Proof in Hand
Chapter 37 Proof in Hand
Seeing Michael looking around, Susan felt a bit annoyed and quietly grabbed his hand.
"Michael, what are you looking at?"
Michael snapped back to reality. Thinking that Seraphina must have left with Warren, completely disregarding him, his expression instantly turned cold. He shook his head and said in a low voice, "Nothing. Let's go."
Since Seraphina refused to apologize to Susan, she deserved this wave of cyberbullying!
After the doctor bandaged Seraphina's wound, he told her not to get it wet for a while.
She thanked him quietly and left the hospital with Warren.
"Ms. Borgia, Alicia must have shown you, right?"
In the warm sunlight, Warren helped her into the car and asked in a low voice.
Seraphina lowered her eyes and nodded slightly.
"So what are you going to do?"
He raised his eyebrows, suddenly looking forward to what would happen next.
Seraphina didn't answer right away. She rolled down the car window, letting the sunlight fall on her long lashes, beautiful enough to make one's heart skip a beat.
"I'm going to make them pay."
"Mr. Talbot, we have a problem."
Steven knocked on the office door and walked forward with a serious expression, handing Michael the tablet in his hand.
Michael glanced at it coldly. Seeing Seraphina on the screen and remembering how she left with Warren that day, he felt extremely irritated.
"Just tell me directly."
Steven paused, then had to say, "Mr. Talbot, Mrs. Talbot is calling you out online, saying you and Miss Dixon better publicly apologize to her, or she'll make you pay!"
Michael's hand gripping the pen suddenly tightened, a flash of fierceness in his eyes.
"She really said that?"
Steven had no choice but to play the video for him.
In front of the camera, Seraphina wore no makeup, her hair tucked behind her ears, looking slightly pale but gentle and resilient.
"Mr. Talbot, Miss Dixon, I know you'll see this video. My demands are simple."
"First, take down all the unrealistic cyberbullying against me online. Second, publicly apologize to me on video with a sincere attitude. Otherwise, I won't show any mercy anymore and will definitely make you pay!"
The video was very short, less than a minute.
But Seraphina spoke powerfully and confidently.
The moment the video was released, no one was intimidated. Instead, the insults and abuse toward her became increasingly severe.
Michael's eyes darkened, his impatience reaching its limit.
There were already eyewitnesses coming forward, saying she was the one who pushed Susan and accidentally hurt herself.
So how long was she going to keep making a fuss?
"Tell her that Susan won't stoop to her level, and she better know when to stop and not go too far!"
Steven had to comply.
But just as he sent the message to Seraphina, a video came back.
He clicked on it instinctively, and after just one glance, his pupils contracted instantly.
"Mr. Talbot..."
Steven stammered, not knowing how to speak.
Michael frowned impatiently, "What did she say now?"
"Mr. Talbot, you should see for yourself!"
He said, handing over the tablet with trembling hands.
At that moment, the tablet was playing a recording. Entering the frame was Seraphina.
She wore a dress she didn't usually wear, with delicate makeup, walking forward.
However, when she reached the staircase, a figure suddenly rushed out and crashed into her hard, knocking her down the stairs!
And the person who crashed into her fell to the ground instead, wailing loudly.
Susan seemed unaware of the camera and even showed her face to it.
In an instant, Michael's mind went blank.
Seraphina hadn't lied. Everything she said was true!
"Mr. Talbot, we misunderstood Mrs. Talbot. When she said she'd make you and Miss Dixon pay, she probably meant spreading this recording."
"No!"
Warren refused immediately without thinking, "If the video gets out, what about Susan?"
"She's always been in poor health and can't handle cyberbullying. Doing this will only worsen her condition. We absolutely cannot let this video get out!"
Steven looked troubled, "But Mrs. Talbot has the original video. We can't control it."
In that case, they could only talk to Seraphina!
Just as Michael had this thought, Seraphina's call came through instead. He answered without hesitation.
"I know you don't want me to release the video. Come to this address now. I'll be waiting. Let's have a good talk."
Before Michael could speak, Seraphina said coldly.
Then she hung up directly.
Michael didn't understand what she was trying to do, but to prevent the truth from being exposed, he had to comply.
Looking at the address Seraphina sent, he quickly drove there...
It was a private room in a coffee shop.
When Michael arrived, Seraphina was sitting in the misty steam, calmly drinking coffee.
"That video, how did you get it?"
He frowned slightly and couldn't help asking.
Seraphina smiled mockingly, "Funny story. A kid thought I was pretty, so he tried to film me with his watch, and unexpectedly recorded such an interesting scene!"
"Just tell me, what conditions do you want before you'll destroy the video?"
Michael's brows furrowed tightly. He rubbed his temples wearily and asked helplessly.
After seven years of marriage, Seraphina's heart still ached at his words.
"Before you got the truth, you firmly believed I pushed her and got what I deserved. Now the evidence is right in front of you, but you want to cover for her?"
"Michael, you're such a hypocrite!"
Hearing her mockery, Michael suddenly looked up, his expression displeased, "Seraphina, Susan is sick. How can you be so vicious and want to go after her? She doesn't have much time left!"
"Doesn't have much time left—exactly how long is that? Three months, six months, or a lifetime!"
Seraphina smiled coldly and asked back with raised eyebrows.
Michael was furious, but he also knew now wasn't the time to provoke Seraphina.
He could only hold back his temper and say in a deep voice, "Tell me, what will it take for you to let this go!"
"Whatever I say, you can satisfy?" Seraphina asked back.
Michael's dark eyes stared at her, his gaze heavy, "As long as it's not too much."
As soon as he finished speaking, Seraphina stood up and slapped him hard.
She used all her strength for this slap.
Michael's ears rang from the hit. He turned his head, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Seraphina, only to see her smiling with curved eyes, her gaze full of coldness.
"Didn't you say anything was okay? First, I had to slap you because you caused me so much suffering for no reason. You deserved it!"
"Second,"
Seraphina drew out her words, her eyes sharp, "I want you to apologize to me!"
