SILENCE THE WOLF
DEREK
Derek had a mission. None of the outlaws in his kingdom had fallen out of grace recently. They had the guts to attack a town that was close to where he ruled as king.
He didn't understand why some bastards under his rule would do nothing but fight themselves when the real enemies whom they should be fighting was out there.
He guess his kinds weren't the only foolish wolves around. He discovered the werewolves were enemies of themselves too.
He remembered telling Alpha Drake that the Luna who was his kind was a traitor. In reality, he haven't seen this vampire luna so talking about her being a traitor was the only thing he could say when he was asked the question abruptly.
There's just something about Alpha Drake he couldn't help but wonder about. He wasn't the type of Alpha he imagined. Besides, the Alpha was his mortal enemy, so there was no way he would be having such a disgusting kind of feeling. Most especially since he's a werewolf.
Derek focused his attention on what was on the ground and that was the villagers around history who had suffered the consequences of the twins of this outlander.
Derek had been hearing about the outlander and how they caused disaster and chaos wherever they went. Such people should not be found in his lands.
Derek, together with his men visited the town which was attacked. He listened to what they had to say about what happened to them.
Derek was greatly raged when he was told about the crimes of these men. They undoubtedly do not deserve to be regarded.
"Your Majesty, what do you think we should do about these anonymous men?" They must surely pay for what they did to his people.
Derek was giving orders to his men on the places to be searched when he heard the loud howl. He trembled the moment he heard it.
That was strange. How could a werewolf be so loud to the point where he could hear its howl from his kingdom?
Just as he was about to, he suddenly felt numb. He could not move. His eyes suddenly changed their colour and his claws and fangs showed forth.
"Your Majesty, are you okay?"
"I'm not okay, find that wolf wherever it is and silence it I don't want to hear its howls one second more!"
"What are you talking about, Your Majesty?"
"What do you mean by what I'm talking about? Are your ears for fancy? Didn't you hear the howls?"
"Well, the howls are normal. I mean we hear them every day, don't we?"
Derek instantly sent a death glare to his assistant.
"Maybe you haven't noticed that this wolf howl's louder than the rest and it's making it uncomfortable to focus on what I'm supposed to be doing!"
"But it's not loud," his assistant muttered as he walked away.
While his assistant sent some men to go in search of the howling wolf, Derek found a place to rest in. He was feeling weak, and he could not tell if this was because of the howling or something else. What he was going through, seemed very strange to him. He had never felt the way he was feeling now before.
Derek went far into the woods, thinking going farther into the wood would make the howl less sound effective to his ears, but it seemed as though he was only wasting his time. He still felt the howling loud and clear and it caused him great pain and weakness.
An hour passed, but the howls persisted, and his men were not back yet either. Strange. Wasn't the wolf supposed to be somewhere in the wild? Or could it be that it can't be tamed?
While he was wondering about what might have happened, he suddenly felt the presence of his men coming to him.
Wait? Why are they back when the wolf was still howling?
"Why are you all here, when the wolf is still howling so loudly?"
"Your Majesty. Please forgive us for our incompetence. But the wolf in question is not in the wild."
Derek raised his brows at them. Not believing what they were saying.
"What do you mean by the wolf is not in the wild?"
"What we are saying is that the wolf is in the werewolf town and not in the woods as we thought."
This was even more strange. How could something like that happen? This was the craziest thing he's ever heard.
Derek was about going to find the wolf himself when it suddenly stopped howling. How lucky that wolf was. He would have snapped its head off before anything else.
Finally, he would have his peace. Goodness!
Derek spent more time in the village and tried to do his best for providing materials for shelters and all that is needed to keep them safe.
When he was done taking care of the village. He stationed some of his men in the village to protect them from invasion, such as the one they had suffered from earlier.
Having done all of this, Derek felt at ease. Being king wasn't all about wealth and desire, but caring for the people and making sure that they were safe and in good care.
His father always told him these words. And he had been putting them into for decades now. Indeed being a king wasn't as easy as it seemed to be.
While the people slept, he made sure that they are well protected in their sleep. And when they are awake, he makes sure that they are loved comfortably.
But then, there is always the internal battle that is always brought by those who wish to bring about the downfall of the kingdom.
But too bad because no matter how hard they try to destroy his reign, he never let them succeed in any way possible.
He was aware of his internal enemy, but he wasn't scared of these enemies. They were rather the ones who fear him.
Since they could not grace his presence out of fright. He was kind when the need arises, but brutal too when it boils down to that part.
