Chapter 103 Never come back
Madison's POV
"It is a duty of a father to look after his children. Especially the female children." Ivano said after clearing his throat.
Everyone stopped eating, paying attention to him. After noticing the abnormal behavior, I joined them.
So they couldn't eat while he talked.
"I know you're still getting acclimatized to your new environment, Madison." He smiled at me. "It's nice, no? Having to be in your father's house."
My eyes met Santiago's hard eyes and then my mother's eyes that pleaded with me to act accordingly.
In other words, behave myself.
"It's just there." I frowned, relaxing my back on the chair.
"You'll come around. I have decided to forgive your mother but I'll never forget the betrayal and lies." His words were sharp, filled with agony.
"Sorry, my Lord." My mother whispered, bowing her head.
Sorry for what?
For wanting to protect your child for all of this?
What do I know anyway.
Ignoring her, he continued. "Bianca stays. You both are to live like blood sisters." He looked between Bianca and I.
"Trust me, father. I've been trying to get us to mingle but Madison doesn't like me much. She wants me out." Bianca pouted.
Wow, girl.
"Is that true, Madison?" My father asked me. "You want her out? Is she making you uncomfortable?"
I glared at her, a sly smirk on my lips. See how tables turned?
If I said, yes... He might send her packing.
"I would love to go upstairs if we're done with this. Father." The words felt heavy on my tongue.
This was not first family meal with them and honestly, it was even more boring than I thought.
I really wasn't missing anything when I sat in my room, forcing the food down my throat.
Mind you, the chef was good.
I was just too selective and losing appetite.
"Sure, I wouldn't want you to keep you for long." He said, nodding at me. "You might as well prepare yourself to meet your future husband later today. It's still under probability. He's a very busy man."
I blinked severally at him, my mouth falling open.
Everything he said sounded so foreign, I thought it was Italian.
"Pardon?"
He frowned slightly, "I said, prepare yourself to have -"
"I heard all those but it's the part where you said -"
"Your husband? Santiago, you didn't tell her?" Ivano glared at Santiago who sat up straight, his body stiff.
"You said you were going to tell her yourself and that I shouldn't bother." He answered, carefully.
"Oh! That's true. I must've forgotten." Ivano chuckled, wiping my his mouth with his napkin.
"My Lord..."
"Shut it." He snapped at my mother, making her flinch. "You've done enough. I don't need your contributions."
My heart was beating fast. My ears tingling in anticipation.
"Father."
"Aha! All I want is the best for you and Russo Vladimir is just the perfect fit. He..."
The rest of his words sounded muffled to me. The room was spinning around, my head aching me. My heart felt like it was going to explode.
"Madison!"
I jolted back into reality, my eyes locking with that of my father. If I could call him that.
"This is deliberate." I said, lowly. "You know Russo is Alessandro's enemy. You're doing this to hurt him."
My voice broke.
"I care less about the feud between those two. All I care about is you." His voice rose.
"Bullshit!" I pushed my chair back forcefully, the leg scraping the tiles roughly.
"Madison Rosetta Salvatore!" He roared, making me halt. "You dare not walk out on me."
"I wish I can say the same for you not controlling me. I just came back into your life and you want to give me out? For what? Political reasons? Personal Gains? Or you just don't want me!" The tears slipped down my eyes, blurring my vision
"Only a father who loves his child will do these things. You're 23 already."
"I'm going to meet Alessandro." I spat, running up the stairs to get my phone and wallet.
"Madison." Santiago called after me.
"Let her be. She'll get what she's looking for." I heard Ivano say calmly.
Only him knew what he meant by that.
I cared less.
Alessandro sent me a puppy for my birthday, that means he was no longer mad at me.
He would agree to my plan.
I was very certain.
My mother cried, begging me to wait a minute but I wouldn't listen to her or Santiago. Ivano was no longer in the dinning room when I got back downstairs.
Once my ride arrived, I left that hell of a building. I hoped never to come back.
Knowing Ivano, that felt impossible. Who knows? He might be planning something terrible for Alessandro.
Oh God.
I had to hurry up.
"Can you drive faster please?" With a panicked voice, I told the driver. He nodded, doing just like I had instructed.
I felt some sort of relieve when Alessandro's gate came into view. Hurriedly, I paid the driver and ran to the gate.
"I'm sorry, Ms. You're forbidden." One of the guards said, frowning.
Creasing my eyebrow I looked between him and the other guy that had walked closer to us.
"What's he saying? Don't you know me? It's Madison." I beat my chest softly.
"We're working based on the Don's order." They said, politely.
Scoffing, I shook my head.
"That was before. He gifted me. He wants me." I tried to slip through them but they held my arms, shaking their head.
My breath was shaky. I wanted to scream.
Why was everyone treating me like this.
Then my eyes caught a tall, broody figure. A small smile and array of hope filled me up. "Alessandro! Aless -" I paused when he turned to me.
His eyes went wide for a few seconds and then they darkened.
Why?
But at least he was approaching me. He stopped midway, yelling, "let her in."
"See? I told you." I looked between them, frowning. "I told you my Alessandro was back."
Immediately the gate opened, I ran to him. He stepped back before I could even wrap my arms around him.
Ignoring that, I said, "let's run away. You and me."
He scoffed, tucking his hand into his pocket. "Why would I do that with a stranger?"
My body froze, my eyebrow arching in confusion. "Huh? It's me, Alessandro."
"A Salvatore." His tone was sharp. He took a step forward, making me move back. "An enemy."
I shook my head, "I'm not your enemy. Look, my father -"
"I don't care. His blood runs in you and that's all that matters." He stopped, his eyes blazing up.
I couldn't even say what I was seeing. I didn't want to believe it was for me.
Alessandro wouldn't hate me this much.
Right?
"Alessandro..."
"There you are, baby." A girl said, walking up to Alessandro. He turned his attention to her, opening his arms for her.
My eyes moved frantically between them, trying to understand what was going on.
"You dressed already?" He asked, so calmly. "I was going to get the car ready before I had an unwanted guest."
Then he turned to look at me.
I was the unwanted guest?
Damn.
My heart clenched as I watched the way he pulled the girl to his side, wrapping his arms around her possessively.
"Alessandro, this is serious." I managed to croak out. "We have to leave. Now."
"I'm not going anywhere with you, Madison." He frowned, eyeing me up and down. "Look, you have to leave. You -" he paused, biting his lips.
When he released it, a tint of blood was evident on his lower lips.
Why was he hurting himself?
"Your chapter is closed. The earlier you understand that, the better."
"But we shared -"
"Whatever we shared was just for the fun of it. You played your part and I played mine." His voice rose.
I shook my head, tears clouding my eyes.
"You were just a time pass. Had my fun and now I'm done." He snatched the girl by her waist, turning away.
"You don't mean that." My voice was small, tears rolling down my cheek. My chest burned.
"Take her away." He said to two guards. He halted, turning his face to meet mine. His eyes were icy cold and hard. They were also empty.
"Leave and never come back, Madison. It's over."
"Aless-" I started but flinched when he roared.
"Go! Fucking go away!"
