Chapter 129 The Wedding

Chapter 129 The Wedding
Fiona’s POV

“You may kiss the bride.”

The words fade into the distance, just like every other person present. For a second, I don’t move. I watch the silhouette of a man nearing me from what my veil allows me to see, then slowly, he lifts it—his face coming into full view.

Nicholas Duncan.

Then it finally hits me. This isn’t a dream I’ll wake up from. This isn’t something that, just like other girls, I have imagined on quiet nights. It is happening. This is real.

His fingers brush the skin of my lips, my breath hitching at the contact. Then he leans in, his lips taking mine, soft at first before his fingers wrap around my neck to pull me closer. Shutting my eyes, I taste his familiar taste—the warmth and spice only he can bring me. People are clapping and cheering in the background, but it’s only a whisper. All I see is us, and the future that is now present.

“You are beautiful as always,” he whispers into my mouth, sending a jolt through my body. Then his hands settle on the small of my back before he pulls back, resting his forehead on mine while we catch our breath.

“Thank you,” I mutter, not knowing exactly what I’m thanking him for. For his compliment, for making me feel seen, for being there for me all this while, for being the best father to my daughter. For everything.

His lips curve into a soft, reassuring smile, and finally, something inside me settles. Because even when I was saying my vows, it didn’t feel like me; the words were mine, but it felt like I was reciting lines from a perfect story.

He finally leads me down the altar. Several people, both known and unknown, come to congratulate me especially—like I won a lottery. I just know that this is going to be a very long day, and honestly, I might not be prepared for it.

The wedding and its after-party lasted for a total of four days. Different outfits, different color themes, different designs, different venues—the same couple. Sleeping at night felt like just blinking, because the next minute, my makeup artist and stylist were at the door knocking. I haven’t been alone with Nick since then. Same with my daughter; they haven’t allowed me with her for longer than a few minutes.

I’m finally left alone in my room, and now, I can breathe. Having strangers in your space almost every second wasn’t easy. A knock sounds on the door and I grimace. I just hope it’s not another secret event happening this midnight.

Reluctantly, I open the door, taking a peek. I catch Nick’s grinning face.

“Who are you? And what do you want?” I ask, squinting at my supposed husband.

Husband. I’ll get used to calling him that.

“I’m looking for my wife. Have you seen her?”

“You have a wife?” I pretend to be shocked. “And I was about to shoot my shot. Tough luck. Bye, hot stuff.” I’m about to slam the door when he stops it with his foot.

“She’s inside,” he smirks, entering the room.

“No, she’s not. I have a husband, and it’s not proper to be alone with someone’s wife,” I state, crossing my arms over my chest.

“You look like my wife.” He pulls me into him, wrapping a hand around my waist while kissing my neck.

“I don’t want to cheat on my husband,” I whine, but I don’t stop him.

He trails wet kisses from my neck to my chest, slowly loosening my robe. Then I remember—I’m not wearing anything underneath.

“What do you want?” I feign ignorance.

“What do you want?” he rasps, his voice rough against my now-exposed skin.

“Why don’t you show me what I want?” I tease. And instantly, he lifts me, my legs instinctively wrapping around his waist.

“You smell so delicious, momma,” he breathes out, carefully placing me on the bed before hovering above me to kiss my lips again.

“Hmm,” I mumble into his mouth, my body already burning from so many sensations only he can give me. Mauling my lips hungrily, his fingers trace my legs before parting them with his body. I’m gasping for breath by the time he leaves my lips to suck on the skin between my breasts.

“Nick…” I whimper, my toes curling at the spark running through my body.

“What, baby?” His tongue swipes across the horizon of my sternum before taking my hard nipple into his mouth. Hot and wet. His other hand cups my second breast, giving it a little squeeze that earns him a shuddering moan from me. All my blood settles between my legs in ache and want. I need him right now. Always.

Pinching my sensitive bud, I let out a whimper before threading my fingers into his luscious hair, my chest heaving. Then his tongue travels from my chest down to my abdomen before settling on my folds. He sucks on my clit first and I let out a sharp cry. Then he repeats the action until I’m already dripping.

I can feel my insides throbbing and burning. When he slips in his finger, my back arches and I shut my eyes tightly, allowing the pleasure to consume me.

“Does your husband make you feel this way?” His hot breath against my sensitive skin only heightens my want. Is he trying to torture me?

How do I answer this question? He is my husband, but we are playing pretend. Each answer feels like a trap.

“Yes…” I gasp, and he stops. Fuck.

“No,” I say immediately, hoping to make things right, but he still doesn’t do anything. So I open my eyes to meet his smug smile, as if daring me to say something else.

“Tsk. Too bad. I guess I’ll have to leave.” I shoot him a glare, half-pleading and half-daring.

“What? I can’t be caught alone with someone’s wife, especially not this way,” he muses, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Someone is enjoying himself too much.

“Nick, I swear—arghh!” I’m still trying to threaten him when he thrusts two fingers into me, kissing and sucking my lips to swallow my moans while he drives me closer to my edge.
