Chapter 130: Epilogue

Fiona’s POV

When Nick said our honeymoon venue was a surprise, I wasn’t expecting him to buy an island.

I have never bought one, or known anyone who did, but I’m sure it’s not something you buy overnight, and it’s definitely not cheap. Reluctantly, we both had to entrust Aurora to her nanny. If not for external persuasion, we both had agreed to bring her along. Alexa, especially, kept emphasizing the meaning of a honeymoon and how important it is for newlyweds.

“Are you ready for your next surprise?” Nick whispers, biting my earlobe. This immediately sends tingles through my body.

“Is there another surprise besides this one?” I quirk.

Ever since we arrived here, it’s been a combination of several magical moments. Starting with the first morning, I woke up to the sound of waves, and for a second, I forgot where I was. Breakfast on the balcony of one of the several buildings built on the island—barefoot and tangled together, feeding each other fruits I can’t even pronounce.

“Yes, there is. Are you tired already?” He teases, playing with my hair.

“Are we skinny dipping again?” I almost laugh at the memory of the first night we tried that. Running around the beach naked before diving into the cold water, without a care in the world.

“I didn’t bring us here to have the same experience twice. Go and get ready for the surprise.”

“Will I need a jacket?”

“You know I’ve always got you. Wear something comfortable.”

“Give me a hint, at least,” I whine, kissing his lips.

“Don’t you trust me, Fiona?”

“I do, silly.” He grins before kissing the back of my hand.

Thirty minutes later, Nick blindfolds me, and the mystery only adds to the jitters I already have. Slowly leading me, I can feel my bare feet on the sand and my curiosity grows. Obviously, this isn’t an indoor surprise, and I can’t help but imagine several possibilities.

I finally feel my feet on something hard before we start climbing stairs, and then the cold breeze bites into my skin. We are definitely higher up, but the salty smell of the beach water throws me off. My hands curl around a railing, his hands carefully wrapped around my waist.

“Why do I feel like we are somewhere dangerous?”

“As long as I’m here, there’s absolutely nothing like danger,” he assures me before untying my blindfold.

I squint my eyes for a moment, adjusting my sight to the bright light.

Oh my gosh!

No wonder it felt like we were on something moving. It’s a cruise ship. And we are on its deck.

“Ni…” I start, but words vanish from my mouth. I don’t even know how to describe this feeling.

“Did you… how did you… you…” I’m just rambling, trying to even make sense of everything.

“This is just the beginning. I’ve got something special planned in the cabin,” he mutters in between kissing my neck.

“This is too much.”

“Don’t say that. You deserve all this and more. People are lucky that I can’t buy a planet,” he boasts, spreading my hands horizontally.

I raise my head to the sky, breathing in a different type of air. One filled with love and promises. One I can only experience with Nick.

“Just like Titanic,” he jokes, and I finally notice our stance. He’s behind me, hands spread out just like mine.

“Let’s hope we don’t hit an iceberg,” I muse.

We stay like that for a while, everything rushing through my mind. How it all started, things that we’ve gone through together that should have torn us apart, our daughter… everything. As if reading my mind, he turns me to hold my gaze—his eyes heavy with a mixture of emotions.

“I’d choose you again,” he says suddenly, and tears sting my eyes, threatening to fall. “Over and over and over,” he adds, giving me the most genuine smile ever.

“Thank you for not giving up on me, Nick. I wasn’t an easy person to love.” I sniff, blinking away my tears.

“You forget that I love a good challenge. And the prize was worth the fight.” He looks at me like I am everything, and I just wish I knew the right words for this moment.

“I’m all yours. Every single part of me.”

“I know. And you are my most respectful owner.” He laughs, and I smile. He never changed, not even once.

“You assured me that everything would be fine. That a time like this would come when all our troubles would be in the past.” I pause, reminiscing about his words. “And I doubted you, because to me, there was no way it made sense. And now,” I smile again, eyes twinkling with tears, “the time is here, and it still feels surreal. All of this feels like a dream.”

“What about now?” he asks before taking my lips in his, my hand instantly fisting his hair. I thought I was scared of heights and water, but now that I’m faced with both, I feel… peaceful.

“Is this real?” He pulls away, eyes not leaving mine. I nod in agreement.

“You know, Fiona.” My name on his lips still sends flutters to my stomach. “Getting here was a tough journey… and now, fully, you are mine forever.”

And yes, I am his, forever.
